WOW. we actually agree.
I 100% meet you on your thoughts perez.
This IS Aaron Eckhart's movie.
its overhyped and Heath Ledger is overhyped.
Wow…sorry Perez but you're way off on this one. This movie was AMAZING….in fact, this is the first movie I believe actually lived up to the hype. Heath Ledger was unbelievable….now seeing the movie, I can see how he lost himself in this character…amazing job. And as far as the Joker's character not having growth, that's the point - he's supposed to be this crazy and disturbed maniac. And as far as the movie being dark, isn't that the point with these new Batman movies? And it wasn't too long….everyone in the theater was on the edge of their seat until the very end. Awesome movie.
what a no talent ass clown of a review…heath ledger was simply amazing…im sorry it didnt tickle your balls quite like gossip girl but it was a very good movie…lame review
I am a bit shocked at your response to the Dark Knight. First let me say, I like you. You seem cool. But seriously, the D.K. Was filled with great moments. The characters were well developed and the plot was more than satisfying. The one surprise death, and I won't give it away, moved the movie away from just a another super hero movie and into something greater, darker and more realistic. It also set up the motivation for two of the main characters to develop and change, thus giving arc! One choice changed everything, and isn't that what happens in real life? And I thought Ledger's performance was the best acting I've seen in a long time. It was a beautiful and well satisfying movie. The best Comic book movie ever.
this movie was INCREDIBLE. Heath's performace was insane! That sucks that you couldn't see the good in that movie.
I loved Heath;s portrayel of the Joker, we laughed at his jokes, and his insanely performance! He definatly made this movie his own..and I was sadden that we wouldn't see anymore of him for future movies…
Batman - Christian Bale not so much, I didn't like him at all, his voice as batman was too deep, your right about not alot of action, the movie was way too long. I saw it at 1201a, well no the theater didn't have enough film to go around,so ours didn't show until 1235a and I got out at 3a so maybe I would have enjoyed it more if I wasn't so sleepy…
But I'm happy that I got to see it and am glad others feel the same way about the movie. I thought it was just me. thanks Perez, your lookin MUY CALIENTE LOL
youre a huge fag whos opinion is meaningless.
youre gonna burn in hell for what you do to people lives.
and your dad hates you.
you're amazing perez. what a smart analysis. i didn't realize how much m-gyl sucked in that role until i heard what you had to say. one thing i loved about heath ledger was his wicked cackle. " hoo hoo hee hee haa haa." i think i'm going to prank phone call people with that.
Perez is a stupid fat fuck with huge nostrils.
i saw the dark knight at midnight the night it came out and i must sayyy the movie was FUCKING AWESSOMMMEEE!!! i waited in line 2 hrs before it started and the line wrapped around both sides of the theater, but dayummmm it was DEFINITELY WORTH IT!!!! it was funny, there were people dressed up and news cameras and everything!!
ITS WORTH THE $10 TICKET!
heath did a GREEATT job as the joker!!! i say that this movie was his BEST performance EVEEERRRR!
heath is my favorite actor and its a shame that he had to leave us so young and so early. we were robbed of a great talent and a great person. im sure everyone still wishes heath was still here, but in reality, he is. in mind and spirit. may he rest in peace
GO SEE THE DARK KNIGHT!!!
Dear darling Perez,
We love you. Thank you for your honest and insightful review. I think I'll take a pass on seeing this one.
The dark night was amazing everyones performance and all the twist and turns kept me wanting more…& how can i forget about heaths performance it was outstanding honestly I didn't know it was him that's how much he was dedicated to his work as an actor…the location was wonderful what can I say chicago is my city overall it was worth every penny! = D
Has anyone ever mentioned to you that you bear an uncanny resemblance to an orangutan? Can't diet that problem away. Regrets to the orangutan.
no inner turmoil? what movie did you watch you fat fuck
you almost look skinny. but if an elephant looses three hundred pounds, it's still an elephant, right perez?
i love love love this movie, it was completely badass and mindblowing!
this movie was amazing, you blog blows. fuck you dude!
I didn't watch your whole "review," because you have no idea what you're talking about. I turned it off when you said "there was no arc to his character, no development, no growth," in reference to the Joker. Of course there is. It's in the subtleties; the way he explains his philosophy for why he is the way he is, and then goes on to explain it again but add more, and further nuance the explanation. Or the way he tells three different stories about how he got his scars. Or how he reacts to his expertly planned acts of terrorism, and then lambasts Harvey Dent for living by a plan rather than just living. These are all subtle points of development. What you have to understand is that, ostensibly, the character all ready exists. We know the Joker is the Joker… but what development do you expect in a film like this? He's the irrevocable villain… did you expect him to turn around at the end of the film and become a priest?
Perez- U asshole!
#1 It was HYSTERICALLY FUN!!!
#2 it wasnt too dark at all..
#3 it was a superhero movie..
#4 HEATH LEDGER WASNT AMAZING?? HIS CHARACTER WASNT AMAZING??YOU HAVE A BLACK HEART.. HOW DO YOU LIVE WITH YOUR PATHETIC SELF?
GET A FUCKING LIFE YOU DOUCHEBAG LOSER.
ur a loser jerk.. u stalk people for a living. you're an asshole.
people listen to ur damn reviews.. and they are going think its not a good movie.. just keep your ugly comments to yourself.
A character like the Joker is not about growth and a sense of novel development, it's about revelations and shedding layers that relate to motives and beliefs. So your analysis is completely bullshit. Heath Ledger is mesmerizing, and the material he was given was brilliant. The Nolan brothers know what they're doing, sir, and I certainly wouldn't take you, a lowly blogger - high profile though you might be - as a very reliable source of analysis.
As for the wow factor you were looking for… you're missing the point. Regardless of what you want, the point of the film was to remove Batman from the comic book world and place it into something identifiably real, where everyone has morals and motive, and where tragedy is inescapable. To say the film was too dark is simply ridiculous. This is a snapshot of a city in the darkest point in it's history, when chaos has literally been injected into the mix. There were several darkly funny moments that kept viewer morale up, but you make it sound like there should have been fireworks and technicolour body suits. Those kinds of comic book films had their day… and that day ended long ago. By and large, you're missing the point, and I think it all has to do with you being a shallow person. You live in a big, fake world… why would you want to put the effort into delving into something a little more "real," as it were? That said, I think this response is long enough.
Maggie is awesome, you don't know what your saying….
hahaha! This is why perez is bettah than tmzzzzzZZzz - he's talking trash about a movie that's being advertised on his blog!
It looks good - still going to go see it despite thee "eloquently" worded review above ;p
I Loved It!
It wasnt your typical predictable superhero movie which i kinda liked
i thought the joker was amaZAZing and no one could have done it better than Heath Ledger. It had sooo much action and kept my attention the whole way which is hard to do with my ADD self haha. Cant wait for the DVD
peace love batman
geee.
sorry it was no fucking mama mia for you.
i love your website.
but you definetly need to stick to drawing on celebs faces and leave the movie reviews to those who know what they're talking about and those who can appreciate an amazing film.
i personally agree with you when you say you "Liked it". I liked it as well, but did not absolutely fall in love with it. I also thought it was a bit too dark, it almost took away from the entire movie because it had me feeling a little depressed. Heath Ledger was great and I definitely think that Aaron Eckhardt's performance stood out against Christian Bale's. I love Christian Bale as Batman.
As for character development, my boyfriend who is a major batman fan told me that in the comics they dont really tell you the Joker's back story and how he got his scars so i can understand why Nolan did not develop the Joker more.
So I'd definitely see it again and I enjoyed it
i think your way off base read a comic book.it was more to that.i loved it.
i loved it. i saw it at midnight and loveddd it. i had low expectations because i'm not a batman fan just a heath ledger fan and i thought it was great. heath ledger was incredible. even though i went in to watch him and see him i completely forgot it was him. he was incredible. the making the pencil disappear scene? brilliant. everyone in the theater was laughing [though it was like 1 in the morning] ledger was funny and twisted and creepy and all around incredible. maggie was boring.
HEATH-
Heath Ledger stole the show,
he was amazing. That's
a given
Re: alyss – SAME FUCKING HERE
Heath fan, not Batman
when you were dieting, did you eat your face off in desperation? or is that how it's supposed to look? can't wait to see you on surreal life 30/begging me for change in twenty years! I'll be sure to take a shit on you.
you totally missed the point you stupid fuck! you and your readers were expecting a shitty comic movie, and you let the epic it was roll right by you. idiots breeding idiots! that's the real problem. get a real job and stop putting cheese on everything you dumb son of a bitch!
Hey Perez, you look great! Don't get to skinny anorexic-like ok?
I completely agree with you on Maggie Gyllenhaal . She really bothers me. I can't see why she was cast in this movie. Horrible choice. I would have much rather seen Katie Holmes reprise her role. Almost any other hollywood starlet would have done a better job than her. How about Eva Mendes?
i disagree. when you were saying there was no inner turmoil? i don't know what movie you saw, but not the same one i did. i mean i wanted to know so much more about the joker when i left that movie. i thought that the inner turmoil inside this man [the joker] out shadowed anything else on the screen. heaths performance as the joker was one of the best performances i've ever seen on screen. i was BLOWN away. and as for being too dark.. thats what the movie was supposed to be. if you wanted to see a happy movie you should go see wall-e or something. and as far as making it rated R, i don't think they will ever make any superman/spiderman/batman movie rated R, just because they want to make it as friendly family as possible.
yo, perez.
i have to agree with your review except for this one thing:
i appreciate the film makers chose to keep the super violent graphic scenes OFF camera. excluding the explosions and car chases there is only a suggestion of violence on screen.
personally,i do not need to see ever detail of a person's face being cut off.
I have no idea why people insist this is the best film they have ever seen.
i really question people's sanity when they say 'THIS IS THE BEST FILM EVER MADE EVER"
maybe these people are being paid by the studio to hype up the dark knight.
The TDK is ONLY "ok" not great.
In fact, i walked out one half hour before the movie ended.
i knew where the movie was heading when harvey dent was in the hospital with a terrible disfigurement.
Im really angry for believing the hype, THEY say this is the best movie ever with a tour de force performance from heath ledger.
I say, its JUST a disposable summer film and like you, if you go to see The Dark Knight with minimal expectations, you will have an enjoyable movie experience.
because Heath Ledger died tragically people are reading way too much in this performance.
i think if he was still around, more people would be questioning the choices he made in playing the joker instead of screeching this his best performance EVER.
Hey perez, I love you girrrl but after seeing this review I HAD to comment! I completely disagree with what you were saying! First of all, no inner turmoil? The movie was practically a textbook defintion of inner turmoil! I don't want to give it away for people who haven't seen the movie, but Bruce Wayne was definitely tormented in this movie! He was stuck because he realized that being Batman wasn't giving the salvation he expected in response to his parents untimely death, but Gothom was in a place where they needed a vigilante like him so badly that they couldn't accept it! Also, Harvey Dent was an incredibly tormented character! He started out like the seemingly perfect answer to Gothom's prayers, but in the end the Joker got under his skin for no other reason than to show that he could, and released the villian inside Harvey. He let his emotions take over his desire for peace and justice and it destroyed him. I thought it was powerful and eeirely familiar to a lot of our world's fallen heroes and historical figures.
Now, moving on to the Joker. I'm certain he was the best villian I've EVER seen in a movie, comic book or otherwise. What made him so fascinating was the fact that he had no inner turmoil. There was no method for his madness, and that's what made him so terrifying. Sure it would give the audience more closure if we knew some Joker back story about what made who he was, but ultimately it would have made him just another tormented man gone bad.
Yeah, just because you've become a media phenomenon (which I think is awesome and fascinating) doesn't mean you know what you're talking about when it comes to everything.
And you certainly don't have any idea what you're talking about when it comes to reviewing film. TDK deserves to be Oscar nominated in at least two categories: Lead Actor for Ledger and Best Picture. It was phenomenal, not just ok.
i just realized i dont like perez himself i love the website… but him get me pissed jst to hear his voice…arriba los latinos pero apoyo su site!!!
Re: lizzi – dick in mouth?
no, YOU are wrong.
The Dark Knight is not that great.
I read Heath Ledger used A ClockWork's Orange as reference when preparing for this film.
Ill bet most of you have no idea who in hell Stanley Kubrick was.
You are in no position to declare " OMG, this is like, the best movie , ever".
Fucking retards.
UR CRAZY IF U DIDNT THOUGHT THAT MOVIE WAS GREAT
ok of course there were a few things wrong with it, but every movie has something wrong with it..its a movie for christ sake, its supposed to enteratin
heath was great! so so sad that hes gone.
Perez if you were looking for fun I think you went to the wrong movie. This movie was excellent when taken for what it is, an action movie with a dark tone. I thought it had plenty of actions sequences and are you kidding about inner turmoil??? That's what Christian Bale's character was suffering through like the entire movie. The Joker isn't supposed to show his inner turmoil because I think it's pretty obvious thata guy who walks around dressed up in a clown outfit and kills people has some pretty big issues on the inside and he's put on this "mask" so no one will see them. I LOVED the movie but i definitely think that there will be people who don't, obviously, but I plan on seeing it again in theaters it was totally worth it. Although i have to agree with you that Maggie Gyllenhall was so-so, not horrible but not as good as katie holmes, which is bad.
**ooh and SPOILER SPOILER (kinda)**
did anyone else thinks the effects on Harvey Dent were pathetic?
Just my thoughts.
I agree with you Perez.. Batman wasn't enough fun… I didn't get it and I didn't like it when they tried to kill the little boy, that was wrong
Nice of you to finally see a movie that didn't have "Cock" and "Gobbler" in the title. Why don't you leave manly movies like this to real men and go cuddle up with a "Twink" and rent "Sex and the City" for the 37th time.
so coldplay sucks, the dark knight was too dark, and the jonas brothers are the second coming…
stick to drawing circles around mischa barton's cellulite, kiddo…you gotta know your limitations…
I totally agree with perez, you are fabulous!! i seen what you seen exactly with the movie…
Heath did play the role very well…
maybe for their 3rd insdtallment they need to bring in "CATWOMAN" to give it that wow factor and i do agree with you on the "R" rating for the next one….
wrong again you chubby ass motherfucker! this movie was incredible! maybe you should take it in the ass from mamma mia and wish that you were allowed to enjoy a spectacle like the dark knight! it's going to rule oscar season. you'll definitely be allowed to enjoy it on TV - no way your stupid ass is going to get an invite! real press and/or legit celebrities only! take your crappy hot topic bullshit and your shitty ads and go feed some middle aged women your shriveled up cock you fat pile of shit!
While I am a big fan of the Batman Series and ALL of the super hero series, I can say that "The Dark Knight" was just good. It had the darkness factor, the maniacal under/overtone and suspense. I didn't feel any connection with the "lovely" female lead (sorry Maggie doesn't do it for me as much as Katie or Kim did). The well cast Heath, Morgan, Aaron, Gary and Christian did an amazing job as expected. Getting back to the suspense, while it was there, the predictability factor was way up there - I don't want to give too much away. It was entertaining enough for the two and a half hours to slip by unnoticed. So, I give it a B+
First of all, Perez, you are looking mighty handsome! I saw the movie last night and
liked it, but a few things bugged me….like Batman's voice! And Maggie was not the
right choice!
here's to hoping you choke on a big black cock you fat fucker!
go let a horse fuck you to death.
you're fucking retarded. everything u say is really the opposite of whats true! stop pretending u have taste because u really dont know how to crititque anything at all. the only thing that u said that held an INKLING of truth to it was maggie's performance.
wow. you're a piece of shit.
i only agree with you partly perez i thought the heath ledger was AMAZING he really did make that movie i couldnt see anyone else playing joker after seeing this movie so i disagreee with you there but there wasnt really any growth with the characters and there was inner turmoil but it wasnt as aparent as you would like i guess cuz christian bales character had trouble with ppl pretending to be batman and what not and wanting rachel and stuff so yeah i guess you had to look deeper go see it again lol so yeah and i dont think the joker needed any growth cuz hes psychotic so yeah i give it a 9/10 definitely cuz it was truly amazing
I have no desire to see it.
But you are lookin FABULOUS!
what diet are you on?
Why are you lying in bed? You just made me asexual. Ugh.
its called the DARK KNIGHT… its supposed to be dark….the joker does not grow…hes just psycho…plus its not a super hero movie…batman is not a superhero…hes a man with a lot of money and cool shit…that helps the city of gotham…he has no super powers just super gadgets. these movies are the most accurate to the comic book…batman is supposed to be dark and the joker is supposed to be crazy..if u steer too far away from that u get george clooney as batman…and the movie is just a joke
I thought it was absolutely epic.
"For my next trick I'll make this pencil disappear."
PHWAK!
Amazing.
saw it opening night and it was unbelievable. heath ledger may you rest in peace. you were phenomenal.
The film was perfect. If it was too dark for you, that's fine…but most people who saw the previous film featuring Bale knew what they were going into. This film was about showing what comic book characters would be like in the real world, without the goofy cliche dumb gangsters, stupid cops and one liners being thrown out of everyones mouth. The joker is a serial killer and is supposed to be scary. Mission accomplished.
Lets talk about your character development as of late. You've always been a kind of insecure nerd (which is fine) …but lately you're trying too hard. It's almost cringeworthy. You acted like the nerd kid in highschool who all of a sudden got a little attention. We all know how that turns out…. You'll likely end up in a worse spot than you started. That video of you giving your review was really cringeworthy bad. It's embarassing how much you have to change yourself to come across as acceptable. You can see it in your eye…you're not comfortable doing it and it looks really weird. I think most can agree with these statements.
Wow, are you serious!? This was one amazing movie. Heath Ledger as Joker was truly amazing. Christian Bale was awesome as well, so were Aaron Eckhart and Maggie however you spell her last name.
I think you need to go see it again, and again and again.
PEREZ, I love the movie it was definitly worth the money. I am glad that it was not the typical super hero movie that have been coming out lately. Just wait to the watchman comes out. Your whole concept of the wuper hero will turn on its head.I don't know if you have read the comic books, but the joker has not backstory no one know who he is or where he come from. He is just a crazed murdering sociopath. In his first comic appearance he goes on a killing spree no explanation for why. I think you have the 1989 batman in you head where they added a back story giving him a name and a past. the reason why you feel it was a harvey dent movie was because they were creating the backstory to the two-face character and batman did not need it because of the first movie. And maggie g was about the same as katie homes. i do agree it was long, but I enjoyed it!!!!
When was Nicole Kidman in Batman?
i thk draknight was awesome…definitely better than hanCOCK and hulk…..the Joker was great, heath did a great job, dun thk any1 can reprise his role….sad
I Loved It. Period.
=]
i can see why heath ledger had a hard time with his role. he was awsome as the joker right down to his laugh.
Perez, I love your site.. I do but honey …but don't act like you know how to act, cause I've seen you on TV. SO I don't see how you can give advice on how the movie would be better. Its obvious you knew you weren't going to like it before you even walked in. You obviously aren't into these types of movies, so you can't say the movie wasn't good because it just may not be your taste.
I mean I hate Harry Potter. Are the movies/books bad? No. They are just not what I like to watch. See my point?
Just stick to what your good at…Blogging!
Love ya!
I thought it was badass-it was amazing!
PEREZ THE MOVIE CRITIC !!! HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA!!!! WHAT A JOKER !!!!
you're drunk.
Re: Cloy –
I agree Perez is a Whore, but not a fatass. He's lookin' good. But, he is still a whore.
Perez, maybe you can eventually
learn to be more satisfied with stuff…
because you are so negative, and it
seems like you are never satisfied!
are you talking about batman or your life and personality and website and career?
I JUST SAW "THE PINK PIMP" TRY AND REVIEW A MOVIE!!! HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA WHAT A JOKER!!!!
absolutely LOVED it. best movie this summer by far!! heath made it absolutely amazing
i actually agree with Perez on some of his thoughts. I did think the movie was focused more on 'Harvey Dent' than on Batman. i saw the movie twice, and both times i left wishing there was more 'Batman' than 'Harvey.' i also really didn't like Maggie as Rachel. She was just kind of annoying. I went into the film having no opinion on her, and left feeling under-whelmed. in my opinion, she only had one really solid scene. they could have found someone with more…feeling for the character.
I honestly feel that Heath made the movie. i can't think of one thing i'd want to change. my opinion isn't based on the fact that the man is dead (god rest his soul), rather it's on the absolutely amazing portrayal of 'The Joker.' Heath was stunning. I couldn't STAND Christian Bale's voice as Batman. i found it so annoying…when i first heard it, i started to laugh because i thought he was joking. His 'Bruce Wayne' was good…i don't really have an opinion on him because the movie, in my mind, went more for 'Harvey Dent' than anyone else. I love the action scenes, but the special effects for 'Two face' sucked.
basically, i give the movie a 4 out of 5. it was very good, just not very great. i'll see it for a third time of course, but my opinions will probably remain the same.
Heath was brilliant in the role, though. he definitely made the movie.
Is the comments section currently under sedge by Hollywood spin artists or is TDK really that good?
Every comment that doesn't profess unfawning praise seems to result in some sort of juvenile rebuttal or a verbose spew of hyperbole..
My goodness.. YES HE SEEN THE SAME FILM AS YOU and didn't like it.
I haven't seen it , the hype isn't endearing me into seeing it either.
OMG! It was so awesome. I went to the 4am show this morning. Definitely the best movie this year so far.
WHY SO SERIOUS? MAGGIE WAS CERTAINLY AN IMPROVEMENT OVER KATIE HOLMES. THE JOKER IS AN ABSOLUTE CHARACTER. IT SHOWED HIS RISE IN THE CRIMINAL WORLD NOT HIS ORIGINS. HOWEVER, THE ORIGIN OF HARVEY DENT WAS TOLD. THERE WAS NO BLOODY MURDERS, IN FACT, I DON'T REMEMBER ANY BLOOD AT ALL, YET I STILL THINK IT SHOULD HAVE BEEN AN R RATED MOVIE. THIS MOVIE DOES SOMETHING THAT NO OTHER COMIC BASED CHARACTER MOVIE HAS, IT WENT BEYOND THAT MOVIE CLASSIFICATION AND BECAME A PSYCHOLOGICAL THRILLER ACTION FILM AND SHOULD BE APPLAUDED FOR DOING SO B/C IT WAS SUCH A DIFFICULT THING TO DO. CHRISTIAN BALE = EH. AND THATS THE ONLY NEGATIVE. I JUST WANTED MORE EVEN AFTER 2 1/2 HOURS.
OMG, The movie is great!!! … Batman, Harvey Two-Face, and Commisioner Gordon are Great!!, but definitely, the Joker gives the movie that twist that makes it impossible to take your eyes off the screen. That performance by Heath Ledger is superb. He definitely deserves a nomination to the Academy Awards. His voice, the way he moves his mouth when he talks….. His eyes ……. His hands movement…. really creepy. I LOVED IT!!
What a fag.
the most amazing movie. one of my favorites. The characters were developed in such a way that I completely had suspension of disbelief. Incredible. And Heath ledger did a phenomenal job. He carved his own way into this character and I no longer saw an actor- I truly believed that in this space there was a joker. It was eerie.
i agree with not enough growth of the characters…but specifically with the Joker, his past is quite fuzzy..no one really know for sure how he became so villainous. I think this movie was sort of made for geeks, or anybody who has maybe read the comics beforehand. I know that I as well as my fellow geeks thought for a Batman movie is was damn near perfect…I do love the hints of Two-Face during the movie before his transformation though…=]]
You were really off base with this review. I don't know if you sat in with a bad audience or what, but there were tons of fun and amazing things going on in this movie. Also Heath Ledger's performance was amazing, and I'm not just saying that because everyone else has been. But of course you are entitled to your own opinion, and maybe it just wasn't your kind of movie. But this movie was multidimensional and gave me more than I was hoping for.
I can't believe your scathing review. I thought you were cool. Not any more. Michael K is cooler and funnier than you. Perez sucks!
#658 The girls that pick up guys from bars,I'm not your mom but be careful Youre right about dr Pink.My mom met Dr Rand Pink at a charity event in New York and she said that he could be in the movies and he's a gyno, that's hot. My gyno looks like my old math techer. My mom said she would have done him right there but of course he was with that Jimmy Choo lady Tamara Mellon My mom said when she saw him she was creaming in her panties i wondered about a hot gyno examining me when I was in high school now that I'm in college that is my fantasy. Maybe there's a Pink Jr in medical school but I will look it up.
really really liked it. BUT the lose end with the joker really sucks now that Heath has passed because this film ended on what could have been an amazing sequel or just another installment into the batman movies. I wish they had killed off katie holmes rather then maggie gyllenhaal and even though i am a gyllenhalic, her performance was not that great. I just wish they had cut it down and made this a movie about the joker and made the next movie about harvey dent and two-face because they introduced his character so well but then killed him and Heath was so god i would have rather watched him the entire time. Christian bale was badass though and soooo attractive and you can't go wrong with a little micheal caine and morgan freeman.
Dude, Joker has no growth, no inner turmoil? The Joker is supposed to be ruthless, psychopathic killer. There is no niceties with ruthless psychopathic killers you dumb fuck. Plus the multi-layered portrayal where the Joker can see that his plan to have the ferries blown up by each other, and how disappointed he looks by that. Not everything is going to be spelled out for you. Aaron Eckhart the lead role? Well duh, Harvey Dent had a huge role in the comics before he became Two-Face. That's the whole point. If you want to see just a superhero film go watch Superman, or Spider-Man. This movie is more of a gritty crime drama, instead of just a superhero. It adds so many more layers to Batman.
i totally agree with you perez. i think you hit the nail right on the head. and thank you for saying that maggie gylenhaal completly sucked ASS! im so glad she died in the movie
This isn't a movie gays should go see. They're too prissy!
wow. i think i need to see the movie again. some people are calling it one of our top five greatest films… it definitely didn't move me that much, but i'll give it the benefit of the doubt considering i wasn't sober for the viewing. i'm going to go see it again in imax, that sounds like fun.
movie was amazing
ledger was out of this world
there was total development of characters
batman had to turn dark….. hints the dark knight
batman had to sacrafice his hero reputation
the joker was just a thug and developed into the complete EVIL of gotham
i typically enjoy your comments on shit but this was just rediculous
did you even see the movie?
i stopped watching when you started complaining about the joker having no character development. that's the POINT of this joker. HELLO. that's what anyone who understands ANYTHING is PRAISING the film for. You really just like to dislike things for the sake of disliking them. Give me a break. One of the best reviewed movies of the year, across the board, and you have this many "problems" with it? It's idiotic. You clearly have no understanding of who Batman is or what this movie was going for. Wow.

Have not seen the film yet, but thanks for being honest. I think that many cricits are afraid to be honest about the film because they do not want to be disrespectful to Ledger's memory or his work. But there is a way to be honest about his work in this film and just this film in general, without disrespecting his legacy, and you totally did that. Way to be a leader, rather than a follower. I get what you're saying, you think it was great, but that it could have been even greater. Can't wait to see it. Thanks again for the honesty. Love the nails and the weight loss. I struggle with weight myself. I also struggle with finding awesome nail designs. You've conquered both.
Dark Knight has restored my faith in hollywood. They can still make a great movie. Congrats to everyone involved in this film.
I completely agree with you on everything you said! especially on it being too long.. i thought it was over an hour and a half in and it just kept on going! but overall - good movie!
I can't agree, personally. I felt that the movie was absolutely great from beginning until the end, two and a half hours later. Ledger's acting was also amazing, portraying the essence that is the Joker instead of the classic path that a character would take. He was the man that wanted to watch the world burn, and that's exactly what he gave us. A man not thwarted by any emotion, turmoil, or plot…just evil. Excellent movie, as I said. The rest of the cast deserve their own mention, but for the sake of this blog I will omit it.
lol still fat and ugly as hell, stick to reviewing movies like Mamma Mia or sex and the city biotch!
i think you were definelty off, the movie wasnt supposed to be fun no one expected that. we all knew it was goin to be a dark movie. the movie was "superheroy", the thing about batman is that he is "normal" and his struggle and rise above it is that superhero in him. i thought heath ledger made the film and that this was the best batman movie ever
I didn't care for the movie. There was too much psychobabble about how tortured Batman is and not enough action. Heath Ledger is good, but that is the extent of it. It's all a bunch of hype. I watched people leaving the audience and they weren't all that enthused. It's just not a "fun" movie. It's like sitting in a dental chair with a lot gas, you kind of have a good feeling but then it's painful all at the same time and you wish you were doing something else. Way too long.
Re: balls – I totally agree with you! I could feel the time creeping away while watching this film–if only time could have stood still… so that the movie would never end. I was utterly moved by Ledger's performance as well as Bale's–and the plot was wonderful. The ethical dilemmas covered were so deep and the social observations were precise. Overall, the movie was fantastic.
I think Perez just wants to be that one person–the only one who had something negative to say–just so that he would stand out. Why? Because, much like the celebrities that he writes about, he is an attention whore. Only, he doesn't have a single talent worthy of the attention he receives. He has become a public figure by being a public enemy and feeding on our basic human flaws of jealously and wanting to see those better than us fall.
To be fair, I contribute to this problem–to his ego and to his attention stealing ways. I like reading his site because it makes for good conversation. Interestingly enough, as Perez's ego has grown so has the site's scope as far as what types of content is covered. This site has moved beyond that of reporting celebrity gossip to that of unreliable coverage of world news, politics, sports, music, movies, fashion, etc. So, people please, don't judge the movie based on Perez's judgments. He's not even a reliable movie critic. He's just an attention seeking wanna-be fame whore.
That's it, folks.
yoooo… perez you are tripppppiinnnnnnn!!!!! that movie was sooooo gooood…. i thought that heath ledger #1 made the movie, although everyone contributed and equal amount of talent to the screen he had me so scared at times because he was soooo convincing…..plus i agree with the guy heath at the botttomjoker wasnt supposed to have any inner turmoil, he was just supposed to be crazy and not give a damn about anything…..i must say though that the only gripe that i had with the movie was MAGGIE GYLLANHALL……yooo i am a definate fan of almost eery batman movie, and the last time i checked almost all of the "love interests" in these films are beautiful….maggie i must say was a bit of a FUG face with no body….. i was so confused as to why they picked someone as homely as her to play that role… it threw me off a bit i must say
