Bigger Than Spider-Man
The Dark Knight continues to shatter record on its way to what is likely to be the biggest 3 day opening in U.S. box office history.
The movie already set a new benchmark for biggest take from midnight showings - it made $18.4 million, surpassing the $16.9 million record previously set by Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith.
Now, the new Batman film has surpassed Spider-Man 3's $59.8 million to have the biggest grossing day in North American box office history EVER.
The Dark Knight took in $66.4 million yesterday.
We should know by tomorrow morning whether it sets the 3-day record, but it's looking like a big YES.

Re: rose – yes these three should seriously be shot
okay yeah let's forget those imbecile's comments. This movie is AMAZING!!!!!!!! And all the actors were brilliant!
I saw this last night - Heath was phenomenal - so sad he passed away - what talent!
the only reason why thismmovieis selling iz bcoz of heath ledger, people just wanna c heath ledger and nutin else..
SOOOO FUCKING AMAZING! You guy HAVE to see this movie!
Re: Stud – Actually, Heath's death isn't the reason so many people went to see the movie. I remember sitting in the theater last year, seeing previews for this movie and after the prwview was over, everyone was like, "Holy shit, we are going to see that. It looks amazing." I'm sure his death didn't HURT the movie…. but I don't think it's because Heath died that the movie is so big. Plus, this wasn't his last film. There was another he was also working on when he passed away.
What an over hyped movie! Give me a break people. The movie is good, but, it's not THAT freakin' good.
It's ridiculous all the raves it's getting. You all know darn well that the ONLY reason it's getting to much publicity is because it's Heath Ledger's final performance.
Stupid how batman tries to disguise his voice by talking like an asswipe. And why did the Joker keep moving his tongue around in his mouth? It was annoying and gross.

I saw it last night totaly BAD ASS it was soo good
This movie was amazing. I will see it over and over again. Heath (RIP) Hype or no. It was probably his BEST performance. The Joker was so disturbed. It should have been called "The Joker." This movie absolutely earned every buck. Maggie Gyllenhall as Rachel Dawes… eh… When you think of a Bruce Wayne love interest, you think of a 'captivating' woman… and she's not. She's just not anything exceptional. In fact, she was borderline haggard looking. Everyone's performance was great. Christian Bale is the best Batman. THE best.
i have never went back to the theater and watched a movie twice, i will on this one. i was amazing, and heath's performance was incredible.
I saw the dark knight last night with a group of friends and we all absolutely fell in love with it! I personally am a huge fan of Heath's but I loved everyone in this movie. i think that the cast was a great pick, they were all very talented and dedicated actors and actresses.
the only reason the movie is bringing in the big bucks is because of the death of Heath Ledger
the movie might not have been that great if not for heath. the saddest part about the whole thing is that we will never see him act this brilliantly anymore. RIP HL.
