The Dark Knight is the new box office king.
Exceeding initial expectations, the film went on to shatter records left and right this weekend.
The most notable: the new Batman film is now the biggest debut ever in U.S. box office history, especially impressive for an opening on a non-holiday weekend.
The Dark Knight took in $155.34 million Fri-Sun.
That bests Spider-Man 3's 151.1 million in 2007.

Best movie I have seen in a LONG time. It is terrible to think Heath did not live to see this movie completed, but he will forever be remembered for his great role, and will hopefully be awarded for his hard work in this film. All of the actors really played the parts well, and whoever did the casting for the movie should receive an award as well. I have never seen actors able to pull together a script, and really get into character as well as this set has done. Hopefully their isn't another Batman though, this one should be the last, no one will play the Joker as well as Heath did, and it will be hard to top The Dark Knight.
I thought this movie was really good. I read the reviews before seeing it so i expected it to be really good but I didn't predict it would be this good. And for those who say it's too long, yes it was long, but it didn't feel dragged on. I wanted more even when it ended. I like how this film concentrated more on the Joker then Batman.
R.I.P Heath Ledger, truly an amazing actor.
I wasn't a fan of Heath Ledger before he died so I'm not going to see the movie. Its sad that he died, but I think morbid curiosity is one of the reasons why the movie is doing so well. I could be wrong, but there has to be a little truth in that.

I hadn't gone to the movies in 2years but I knew I had to see this. And I ended up seeing it 2 times this weekend. GREAT MOVIE
Ummmm, it was a good movie. Heath Ledger was great, but for all you morons out there, this "movie" did not kill him. Drugs killed him, it had nothing to do with the Joker. You just know Katie Holmes is kicking herself in the ass for not doing this one. I'm sure Tommy Girl convinced her it was a bad idea, well so much for that. Maggie Gyllenhal was good too and I don't usually care for her.

I HATE comic book movies…..and I HATE seeing a movie in a crowd….but saw this on last night with a sold out theater and FREAKING LOVED IT. If you havent seen it yet you are missing out!
PS to the 14 year old chatter boxes behind me……suck it! You dont like being told to shut it then dont start in the first place. Its a movie theater not your livingroom. And yeah…I saw you try to give me the evil eye on your way out….couldnt really make it our under all that 80's tranny makeup you were wearing.
I loved the movie! The ONLY thing I don't like about it is the voice Batman uses when in costume….I know it is supposed to be gruff but it sounds too forced.
Saw it..it was Good but nothing spectacular about it…Dont get me wrong it was good but I would have to say its not the best movie Ive ever seen…but it was ok…Once was enough for me..Ill wait for it on DVD to see it again

The Joker wasn't The Joker. Ledger was good, but Nolan fucked up the whole Batman aspect.
We went to see the movie and the power was out so we didn't get to see it!!!! Prepaid tickets and all; however, we will see it for sure.

I agree with paris on most levels, with one exception. He said all of the characters didn't develop, and also said it was "Dent's film". That being said, I thought Dent developed quite a bit, from heroic city DA and slowly progressed into two face. I think his character developed quite a bit. Also thought it was ironic how Dent said "You either die a hero, or live long enough to see yourself become the villain."
GREAT MOVIE!!!! Heath Ledger was amazing and gave me chills. I'm going to see it again. It was arguably the best movie I've ever seen.

As long as you look away from the skanky, pig nosed Maggie Gyllenhaal- then it's a pretty good movie. Why did they cast that goofy faced, arrogant woman in that role? everyone else cast in the film is amazing to watch.
I saw the movie saturday night. I went to the drive in with my dad and brother and I loved it.Heath ledger was amazing as the joker. If I didnt know better I wouldn't of believed it was him.

I thought the movie was very mind boggling… and was more intended for the adult mind… it completely outdid all the batman movies i ever saw and believe me i didnt even care for the one before this…. though i have to admit i did like the catwoman one..lol.. though the movie was dark it had so many twist that it kept you wondering so i give them credit for that.. but most of all my props i think for this film will have to go to the writer and director… shouts to perez as well.. adam
