The Dark Knight is the new box office king.
Exceeding initial expectations, the film went on to shatter records left and right this weekend.
The most notable: the new Batman film is now the biggest debut ever in U.S. box office history, especially impressive for an opening on a non-holiday weekend.
The Dark Knight took in $155.34 million Fri-Sun.
That bests Spider-Man 3's 151.1 million in 2007.

i just saw the movie yesterday…im not too big with action films. BUT this was the BEST movie i have ever seen! amazing!
Good, Spiderman is just a whiney bitch. Batman, on the other hand, is kick-ass.
The movie was brilliant. It's a batman movie, and Bale was great, but it was really Heath Ledger and Aaron Echart's movie.
Rest in Peace, Heath, and be assured your memory will live on in years and year to come

I thought the movie was really good, but a little too long! It was awesome to see Chicago in the movie. It's showed how amazing our city is.
Saw it. Loved it. Dark and mysterious. The pencil in the head was like, "Whoa!" Bale's deep, breathy voice, omg - drooling in my popcorn! What an escape from the every day monotony of my life and becoming engulfed in another world. Well worth the price of admission. Heath = Amazing. Aaron = Amazing. Christian = Amazing. Maggie = So-so. (sorry). The saddest thing is that Heath is not alive to see what a phenomenol impact he had in this film. He was A-list caliber.

Saw it Sunday afternoon. Awesome! Heath was GREAT, but so were Bale,,Eckhart and Oldman. The whole cast did a great job. To #122; I've been b Batman fan forever, and Heath WAS the Joker. I'm not sure if you read comics, but check out The Killing Joke, Joker's 5-Way Revenge or any number of stories, and the Joker is a FREAK!

To the prople ripping on Maggie G., she did an O.K. job with what she had to do/ Admiitedly, she isn't drop-dead gorgeous, but so what. Also to Renee, Joker did not kill Bruce's parents. That was only in Tim Burton's version of the character. If(when) they do a sequel, I hope that Bale ditches the coarse voice, just doing a lower voice.

the end did drag i thought it was going to be over 30 mins before the actual ending
but i still loved it.
i also love the fact that soo much of it was filmed in my home town of chicago.
it was so neat recognizing soo many places.

This movie deserves every penny it made off this weekend. It has to be one of the best movies I have ever seen. I love all the batman movies but Heaths performance put this way over the top. It got a standing ovation in my hometown. It was the best.
i really liked this movie and i haven't been so impressed with a movie since spiderman 1 the only thing i can really complain is the whole dead actor fake praise thing seeing how their are TONS of movies that can come out at last minute and leave this one dry of an oscar

Just came home from watching it, i have never expirenced something like it. i was the most amazing thing. while you watch it and you glimpse into the eyes of heath you want to see who he was before but you dont see that. Heath Ledger will always be remember for the Dark Knight but i will always remember him as he was in 10 Things I Hate About You.

This is probably one of my favorite movies of all time. I was nervous that it wouldn't live up to the hype, but it was so amazing. Heath Ledger definitely made the best Joker. I admire him so much, and he is definitely one of my favorite actors because of this movie. You can tell that he is very into his role. If I could, I would see this seventy times in theaters.

Once it was a comically parody on good vs eveil and not its evil vs more evil. I wish Americans would stop digesting this vile and go back to decent wholesome movies that uplifted the human condition and not denegrates it. It amazes me that something this gross grosses the largest box office reciepts in opening history.

That movie was long and boring. The writing could have definetly used some help. It's not like Christian Bale's role requires much (stand there, look stoic. Good…). While Heath Ledger did an amazing job, he was the only thing keeping me interested. That and playing 'which random actor will see you see next' game (Anthony Michael Hall? Debo from Friday? Eric Roberts?!?). That was the most amusing part of the whole movie!
Saw it! Loved it! It honestly earned every dime! Best movie I have seen in a long time AND I only went because the husband wanted to go, Im not into those kinds of films! RIP Heath! Job Well Done! You will be missed in the industry!

I think I was speechless for a good day and a half after I saw this. Both Christian Bale and Heath Ledger were INCREDIBLE. This is definitely a must see for anyone who hasnt done so yet. Extremely epic.

This movie was simply amazing. Great acting from everyone, especially Heath Ledger. The director took the comic book story "Batman" and gave us a more realistic look of the psychological meaning of each character, especially the Joker.
I am definately going to see it again when it comes out on DVD.

The Dark Night is hands down the best movie that I have ever seen in a theatre. Usually a movie that runs two and a half hours has it's slow patches and a lacking plot but this movie broke all kinds of rules. I loved every second of that movie. I will be seeing it again this next weekend at IMAX!! WOOHOO!!

The Joker alone makes this movie amazing. The rest is gravy on top. Rich, delicious gravy with hearty chunks of meat.
Fucking sucks that we'll never see another performance like that again. This is the first movie in a long time that I actually care enough about to buy the DVD.
Also, Watchmen looks like it could be really good. Can't wait for that! Too bad I'm going to be comparing all villains to The Joker from now on, though.

This was a realistic movie that dealt with human behavior. It would be the same 60 years ago when everything was "wholesome" (fake) as today if they had made true-to-life movies.
Amazing, this movie was none other then amazing. Up here in Edmonton, Alberta Canada, it sold out in seconds. We had to pre buy our tickets 2day in advance. But it was worth it. Christian Bale was AMAZING (as always), Morgan Freeman was exceptional…as for the late Heath Leger, he had the best performance I've seen in the longest time, maybe even ever. Well played.
