The Dark Knight is the new box office king.
Exceeding initial expectations, the film went on to shatter records left and right this weekend.
The most notable: the new Batman film is now the biggest debut ever in U.S. box office history, especially impressive for an opening on a non-holiday weekend.
The Dark Knight took in $155.34 million Fri-Sun.
That bests Spider-Man 3's 151.1 million in 2007.

The movie was sooo AWESOME.
Heath Ledger was amazing.
I def recommend seeing it on the big screen.
I saw TDK on Friday. Loved it.
My only complaint is that it was a little too long for my liking.
But Heath Ledger was AMAZING. No one could have done it better.

I was truly amazed. Not just because hes dead but I must say Heath played hte shit out of the Joker role. That guy was truly talented. I wasnt expecting such a great performance from him. One movie I would definately pay to see in the theatre again. And people need get off this bullshit about drugs being the reason he played the role so well. F#*&% You

Ledger was amazing, the movie was okay. Great special effects and props to the stunt teams but did Batman's voice have to be so over done? It was annoying and I think the film was a little too long. I really wanted to LOVE it.

The Dark Knight was a very good movie. And Heath Ledger was brilliant. But I think the whole thing was slightly overrated. Still a good movie, but I think it lacked some luster towards the end. At least in the action part. And you have to admit that one of the biggest reason this movie is so huge is because Heath Ledger is dead.
Absolutely the best Batman movie ever! It was also the longest ever, thank god!! I loved the crowd we saw it with, everyone was clapping at different points of the movie. Heath, WOW. Whole cast for that matter…BRAVO

i disagree totally. ever since the first promo came out about this i have been excited to the MAX. this looked like a good movie before heath ledger died. Heath's misfortuned death only hightend anitpation to see if his last solid performance was good. i bet you everyone that wanted to see this movie did because of the batman scenerio… not because of heath's death. Plus also the buzz about his oscar nom. also brang in people cause his performance is that damn good. i saw it twice because it was that amazing. there wasnt an ounce of heath ledger in this performance. it was all the joker.
batman was amzing and it was at the right length and a great set up for the next movie. but please do not bring back the joker.. let him rest with the best person who ever played him.

I usually do not take these kind of fantasy/comic book movies in, but since it was one of Heath's last performances I had to see it. I thought it was absolutely phenomenal. He scared the hell out of me! You can see that he really took his time with every aspect of the character and I totally would back a nomination of him for an oscar. I will definitely see it again. His family should be very proud!

i saw batman twice this weekend. it was great both times. it was kinda long but you dont really notice the time… i kinda wish the original katie holmes played in this one to but since tom cruise got something stuck up his ass it kinda of ruined it for me. and it would of been great if they would of told where the joker actually came from. he kept telling stories throughout the movie about his scares but it kind made it seem like he was making them up cuz he told like 3 different ones. overall the movie was a 10 for me heath ledger did his thing!!! RIP Heath!

This movie was all pro-Bush conservative racist propaganda! All that crap of having to spy and lie to the people for their own good or never giving into a terrorists' demands is all propaganda to dumb down the American people! The story line with the Chinese guy was completely irrelevant, useful only to diss on the Chinese about foreign made items (i.e. the gun) and that Chinese people only want to take all "our" money! The Nolan brothers should stick to making films instead of insinuating their conservative agenda! The only good thing about the movie was Heath Ledger's performance as the Joker.
Seen it twice. Can't wait to see it again. For those who haven't seen it yet, please please please go I-Max. Soooooooooo much better and so worth it.

Heath Ledger did such an amazing job with the joker. I saw the movie on Friday and wanted to go back again on Saturday. I love Christian Bale as Batman but he looked like he lost a lot of weight since Batman Begins.

So it defffinitly only made that much money because first of all christian bale is HOT and heath ledger died while making it. I think thats also why people said Ledger deserves an oscar i saw it, it was only aiight.
I tried posting this yesterday…TWICE….and, it wouldn't get through. Hmmm…perhaps, it was because I use the 'Y' word…who knows? I read on the Y website….that considering the rise of inflation, that this Batman movie REALLY didn't break any record.
Consider this, if you will…..if 1,000,000 tickets were sold for a movie @ $6.00ea, TWO YEARS AGO…..WOULD/SHOULD 1,000,000 tickets sold for a movie @ $8.00ea, nowadays…be considered a record breaker?? I don't think so. I would consider the NUMBER of tickets…and NOT the amount of money it brought to the theatres, in my humble opinion.

I loved it! I thought it was the best movie I have seen so far. There was non stop action, and Heath Ledger did a wonderful job. Such a tragedy loosing him so early. He was such a gifted actor. I thought everyone did a wonderful Job. I can't wait to buy the movie!!

I went to a big-ass theater yesterday and every seat was filled. Every imax viewing was sold out for the weekend. And yes… my favorite scenes involved Heath Ledger..RIP sweet prince.
the movie was AMAZING! Heath was fantastic though we all knew he would be. I thought that Aaron Ekhart's performance was also phenomonal. He's a true talent.

I thought the movie moved the notch higher for any other super hero flicks that may come out.. It was a little lengthy for me, but mr. ledger's performance was certainly one of his best, if not his absolute best ever. I highly recommend seeing it.

I have seen it everyday this week! Fri. Sat. Sun. and Monday….and I'll be back tomorrow and Wed.! God I love having friends who cant see the moive at once, lets me see it MANY times! Movie was genuinely good… But the fact that Heath Ledger is now dead and he gave such an amazing performance makes it that much better.. Although it made me really sad to know that he is now gone and will never be able to see the success it will bring.

I saw this movie in Mexico on sunday. I wasn't so sure I want to pay to see the movie in the theare cause I could get the copy for cheaper just on the corner of my house.. The movie was amazing, It was worth my money I took my family. IS THE BEST
The movie was great. Very dark and violent. I found myself pissed off at the end that Heath is no longer with us to reprise this role.

OMG It was amazing. I went to the midnight showing Thursday night and then again on Sunday. Heath Ledger gave the performance of his career!!!! He was both sadistic and hillarious. Maggie G much better actress than Katie Holmes, not quite pretty enough. But I still enjoyed her performance. Gary Oldman as always was wonderful, and Christian B; domestic violences charges or not SMOKING HOTT and amazing performance. Pretty sure his batman voice could be the sexiest thing in the history of the world. LOVED IT GO SEE IT!

Movie was amazing. Heath Ledger's performance was exactly what the movie needed It has been a long time since someone actually portrayed the Joker character correctly. Its sad that the character won't be able to come back for the next film Since recasting could prove to be a huge upset. The recasting of Barbara from Katie Holmes to Maggie was a smart move by the production stupid move on Katie's part to turn it down though considering all the publicity, hype, and box office buzz could've maybe given her a slight attempt of reviving her career. Just a thought.

If they do another Batman movie which you know they will now. Me thinks Cat Woman’s character should come into play, as Batman’s love interest, that’s how the comic went. Don't you think Megan Fox would be Puurrfect for the part?
