Jessica Simpson performed at her first proper country show this past weekend and things did not go as she would have liked.
When the wannabe country singer took to the stage at the Country Thunder Festival in Twin Lakes, Wisconsin, on Saturday night, she was greeted with a warm welcome of boos, reports the local paper.
And, her reviews were less than stellar!
"Many audience members found her attempt to crossover into country irritating and that her vocals lacked a southern sound," says one critic.

Im not a fan, but on the other hand, I do feel sorry for any performer who gets booed,thats just wrong! Are there any people out there with manners anymore,, just for the sake of not sending her into despair? That's just so not nice! I doubt she was that bad,, I think people are just rude anymore. We used to at least give some one a hand for trying, even if they were bad,, just as so not to hurt their feelings and make them feel like losers,,what ever happened to that? She is a beautiful girl. I think she's had some difficult times, giver her a break! We all struggle. Unless of course shes just a bitch, then that's different!
Every time I hear her voice it sounds like she's pushing through a dump.The only thing this big ball of talent is good for is to look at.

Her career was over a long time ago, so was Nick Lachey's. They were both built by Newlyweds. But if you think about it, they are both musicians supposedly. The show was a vehicle to promote their musical careers and the show didn't really do that for them.
It gave them fame as a great couple. And, after they squeezed all the show appearances and endorsements, there was nothing left. No one takes Jess or Nick seriously as an actor. Their music has been mildly received, although Nick a little more than Jessica.
Now you have Jessica with one failed pop album. Now, she wants everyone to believe that she is country so she can revive her career and she takes on Carrie Underwood. Carrie is talented and she is country. She's never been anything but. Jess is a marketing ploy whose career should have been over about five years ago. Nick too. She has struck out as a pop star, actress, wife and now she is going for country star. That extra fifteen minutes she got is done.
How is it possible that nobody has yet to comment on that disgusting camel toe?

COUNTRY THUNDER SUCKS! They cancelled the Dallas concert this past May due to lack of sales and STILL haven't refunded us our money!!! They're "trying to figure out the best way to make that happen." for 3 months?! If you have tickets to the AZ concert - BE CAREFUL!!! Seriously! email Country Thunder and tell them to refund the Dallas tix! F'in thieves!

Ms. Simpson did not put in the work that is necessary to put out a successful country album. She was too busy chasing Tony. That is her only concern in life - to find a man. This was the same pattern with her previous relationship with John Mayer. She was supposed to be filming the movie Blond Ambition but she was too pre-occupied with traipsing all around town with John - and we all know what became of Blond Ambition.
This girl deserves to be happy. Unfortunately, she never will be because she has her self-importance blown way out of proportion. She is arguably C-list at best and yet she pursues A-list men. After she broke up with Mayer she went on a cruise ship in Cannes and was pestering Leonardo DiCaprio and Jude Law. Please, like they would even look at her. They were freaked out by her and trying to avoid her. She should leave the Tony Romos and John Mayers of the world alone and focus on the Brody Jenners of the world. She needs to realize who she is and stay in her lane. Only then will she achieve some semblance of happiness. Than she can put a good faith effort into her career.

I never heard any boos and Jessica sounded great last night at the concert. For not performing live in three years, I believe that she did a great job and people need to give her a chance.
Carrie Underwood blew her away the other night- Carrie was the headliner on Wednesday and it was incredible. Miranda Lambert was also very good…but Taylor Swift and Jessica were utter, complete, CRAP! The girl is desperate for attention and fame, just like her famewhore little sister. Neither can sing- though Jessica is better then taylor swift at least…Taylor is the worst siinger in any genre- not sure how she ever got a record deal. But JEssica is so fake, and so obviously not country- that she made a fool of herself up there.

RANDALL, Wisc. - Jessica Simpson’s gone country – but can she stay there?
The aspiring crossover singer made her country concert debut at the Country Thunder USA Festival in Randall, Wisc. on Saturday, where she reached out to an unsure audience.
High-profile boyfriend and Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo may not have been there to comment, but concertgoers were quick to offer their opinions of Simpson’s show.
“I just don’t hear the country in her,” said Adam Matos, from Arlington Heights, Ill. “I don’t hear the twang. She’s not good enough to be here.”
Mike Rodriguez of Lake Geneva, Wisc., seconded that opinion.
“Just because she’s dating Tony Romo it doesn’t make her country,” he said. “She doesn’t fit in with country, and I’ll have to drink a lot of beer to sit through her concert.”
Simpson faced some steep competition at Country Thunder, where more established artists such as Carrie Underwood, Miranda Lambert and Sugarland were also on the bill. Her country album is due for release on September 9.

As far as I can tell, Jessica Simpson seems to be a nice girl. For that reason, I actually feel sorry for her receiving boos. She has always had the potential to be a good singer, if only she'd take some *very* serious voice lessons, but she's hardly an artistic mind. On top of that, she (unsurprisingly) has record executive morons who don't know how to steer a clueless woman the right direction. I think the only way she can really save her career will be by enrolling in college and forcing herself to become a critical thinker, or by coming across the right producers who could churn out a few mega hits for a new album.

Jessica Simpson is not fat. It's ridiculous to think that everyone has to be a size 2 in order to "look good". Obviously being overweight is not desirable, but she is not even close to being that. Frankly, it's more disgusting than attractive when you can see a girl's ribcage and she has no meat on her bones.
