The dialogue sounds really cliche. I wish some more work had been put into the screenplay. The two leads look like they have chemistry though.
Robert Pattinson is so pretty - almost effeminate. But I like androgynous looking guys. I confess I am distracted by his good looks. Kristen is no doubt going to be a great actress someday. At the moment however, I think she needs to work on connecting with the audience. She's a cold fish. I feel that there is a disconnect somewhere - she doesn't exude the warmth that one needs to be America's sweet heart. Maybe she's not gunning for that.
If you are going to leave a comment could it at least be positive? So much negativity………can't wait for the movie and book!
Kristen Stewart is just so wrong for Bella. Mmm Edward though…the movie is gonna be good only because of him.
Bella in the books is an awkward, sullen, cold fish of a teenaged girl with some shitty social skills.
Everything that people are complaining about in terms of Kristen are missing the point that Bella isn't suppossed to be a gorgeous, warm person.
She's an odd teenage girl who just happens to capture the attention of one fucking hot vampire.Adn yes, robert fits the bill just fine there…lol

The books are amazingly well written, but Bella's too depresso and , frankly, so is Edward. He's supposed to be serious, not boring!
I personally think Gaspard Ulliel would be by far the best choice for Edward, he can look serious and cute at the same time, and he is STUNNING!!!
I hate that they've changed things, and I hate the actors choices, and why the HELL does he call her his 'spider monkey' in some trailors

And Billielip in the jungle. Bella the main character is meant to look ordinary so they've made kristen stewart look normal when she is actually quite pretty.
I love the trailer it shows the scary stuff that actually happens in twilight. I love when edward says in the trailer "he'll never stop!" - love it.

Robert is perfect. Edward is suppossed to be angelically handsome, and ethereal in his beauty. Robert has an otherworldly look to him.

You understand this is a trailer, right? And usually, with trailers, they just have actors do voiceovers to explain the story better? Bella narrating the trailer is not necessarily what will be in the movie.
How SM describes Edward Cullen in the three books:
Copper haired

lean, but on further inspection, built
straight nose
cut cheekbones
straw jawline
full lips
straight nose
beautifully shaped eyes with full eyelashes.
almost alien beauty-not a boy-next-door-look, more exotic
All you bitches complaning about Robert's looks don't seem to realize how Edward is described in the series! Robert fits the bill completely, with maybe the exception of being very muscular. He's more just lean. Otherwise, he embodies every other physical description

Laurent's ethnicity is not specified in the book. The best description of him is in New Moon, and all we get is that he has pale skin with a dark undertone(meaning the pale is from being a vampire, but he's not some Swedish dude either cause of his dark undertone) and he has dark hair and is very good looking.
That vague description leaves alot to work with.
James on the other hand is specifically plain looking. And yet they picked Cam, who is obviously very handsome.
a bit worry about the movie. love the book. hopefully the movie won't ruin the image of the characters and the plot of the books like other books-turninto-movies
The book and movie are two very different entities, so the movie really can't ruin your love for the books unless you let it.
The main problem with the movie is they had to do the film on a budget. So, like the car scene where he saves her is underwhelming.
On the upside, the director kicks ass, Kristen and Robert are suppossed to have been cast because they have mad chemistry together(yes!), and the screenplay is very faithful to the book and got alot of input by SM herself.
So, I think Twilight Series fans have reasons to be hopeful about the movie overall. It's not going to be perfect, but it will be like a nice companion piece to the actual books.

Uh, why not just stick to the storyline? I understand cutting it down because obviously the movie would be extremely long if everything was included, but why add shit that didn't happen in the book? The book is incredible, but this movie is looking sub par.

Bri-they did stick to the storyline for the most part. SM actually is enthusiastic about how closely it stuck to the storyline; an MTV development deal stalled because the script had Bella as a track star and had her and edward having sex for pete's sake.
Things added to the movie that aren't in the book are usually minor details that help support the storyline. Not a big deal, telling a story visually as oppossed with words is very different. If they made the movie just like the book, we'd have Bella staring at the screen narrating everything inside her head for 12 hours.

The books were a really great read… and I really want the movie to be amazing but usually that's not the case when they make a book into a movie…. (except of course gone with the wind) and I can already see that many things in the movie were changed from what was in the book…. so i guess i'll have to wait and see…

It's Twilight . . . what's not to love? I am content with the actors for this movie, but remember, they ARE only human. They can't exactly look like gods or however Bella described them. Hoping I love the movie, but I know I will always love the books. Totally watching though! Go Twilight!

The movie looks awesome. And for those who are getting ridiculously nit-picky with details "I can't believe Laurent is black! Wah Wah" get over it. We should be thankful that the movie has been taken seriously, and is as close to the book as it seems to be. MTV could have screwed us with Bella being a track star and night vision goggles. Instead Summit and Catherine Harwicke tried really hard to keep as much from the book as they could. Enjoy the movie for what it is, a chance to see that world visually and have another interesting take on it. Remember, you always have your books to read.

Have some feeling. PLEASE.
As for Robert as Edward…I feel like the casting was pretty spot on. At first I was a bit skeptical, but after seeing some clips and trailers I've warmed up to the idea completely. I just feel like this movie will be highly disappointing. Bella is the main character and with Kristen's bad acting it can't turn out very well.
