Blame it on Bjork, Spielberg and Sharon Stone

Note to self: never plan a trip to Hong Kong.
China says it will ban foreign artists and entertainers who have ever engaged in activities deemed to "threaten national sovereignty."
Chinese event organizers will be expected to scrutinize acts and material and ban any performance that might threaten national unity, stir ethnic hatred or violate Beijing's strict policy on state-approved religions and "cultural norms."
So, basically, China will ban your ass if you criticize them!
We blame Bjork who yelled, "Tibet, Tibet, Tibet" after performing her song Declare Independence live in Shanghai.
Then there was uber director Steven Spielberg, who dropped his name from an Olympic committee cause he is opposed to China's practice of doing business with the genocidal Sudanese government.
We wonder which artists will be China P.C. for the chance to make Chinese $$$$.
We guess definitely any act managed by Disney!
However, we don't blame China for pissing on Sharon Stone because of her crazy karma comment!

China should not ban those people so CHinese people will have a chance to kill them when they come.

Oh, but this is not the fucking USA
Hong Kong is a Special Administrative Region, separate from (although geographically part of) China. I'm from hong kong and personally don't agree with these rules and regulations that in all honesty coming from the Chinese government i find highly hypocritic. hong Kong is a totally different place from china, there's even a border passport control between the two. We have a different currency and government so i would suggest to you not to make naive comments such as 'never plan a trip to hong kong'. Comments made in ignorance by someone who has significant "power" to influence minds (using someone like Sharon Stone as an example) should be left aside.
I'm proud to come from Hong Kong it's a wonderful place and should NOT be confused with the strict, communist country that china is.
Hey Perez!
Dont incite a boycott of Hong Kong love!!!!!! China - yeah - give em what they deserve - but Hong Kong is very much an indepedent "special administrative region" and VERY VERY different to Mainland China and should be treated as such……. Hong Kong and its citizens very much cling to their British roots and mainatain a very unique, seperate and very very stylish idenity (in fact HK nationals are legally classifed as just that, and dont call themselves Chinese at all) & would be highly offended at the comparision
Hong Kong also respects the right to free speech, so a walk along the harbourfront promenades at day or night and you will come across all sorts of civil rights groups spreading the truth about the charming Chinese Govt and their hangups & persecution of certain groups….
And trust me sister - you would never want to deny yourself the chance of sampling their amazing shopping (And equally incredibly low prices due to their low import taxes on luxury items!!!!!)
So by all means declare boycotts on China Perez - just not Hong Kong!!!!! You are a powerful voice young man so please make sure you get it right
(we wouldnt want a Pammy Anderson's recent PR nightmare Australian KFC vs Peta animal rights act gone wrong for our Fave Gossip Gal now!!!!!!!!
Cheers (and dont strike Hong Kong of yout International shoppiing destination list now!)
DuLash xox
We have to respect the China. Imagine what would happen to the United States if they called in our debt?
um, blame china. not people who use their celebrity to speak out against their human rights abuses. did anyone hear the npr report on the screwed up way china overtrains and then abandons it's own athletes to poverty, so it can be all national pride and stuff? not watching any of this crap.
Hong Kong is not governed by China you dumb arse get your facts straight you uneducated fool. Hong Kong maintains its OWN legal system, police force, monetary system, customs policy, immigration policy, and delegates to international organisations and events until the year 2047.
leave hong kong alone, we're not part of this. ask any hong kong person on the street where they're from and 99/100 will NOT identify with china, and instead, say "i'm from hong kong", instead of "from china". in fact, hong kong people dont like being referred to "mainland china". acts from the chinese government like the aforementioned makes us feel insulted when you do.
Re: USA#1 – Well done, smart brains. I'd like to see you not ever consume ANYTHING that is made in China. That includes all the China goods you are indirectly dealing with, including the pair of scissors that the salesperson of your favorite "USA #1"-whatever store is using to cut up the wrapping paper for your mother's birthday gift. Have fun hun, and don't come crying to smelly old China when you find out you can't live without it. I know, I know, love-hate relationships are hard huh?
FREE TIBET!
Everyone's said it before but…
HK is one of the greatest places in the world and absolutely NOTHING like mainland China. You should go to HK…I think everyone should!
Re: kb –
"the whole "free tibet" are stupid."
You must be crazy to even say something like that. You think Sharon Stone and American's are out of place for what they've done but it's okay for you to drop whatever you think at any given moment?
Please keep your eastern backwards ideas to yourself.
KARMA IS A BITCH!!! I agree 100%. Good luck with life.
perez- do your research!! the laws in china and hong kong are different! usually you are pretty well informed. i am disappointed.
GOOD FOR BJORK! CHINA HAS BEEN COMMITTING GENOCIDE AGAINST THE TIBETAN PEOPLE FOR YEARS! YOU ARE SUCH AN UNEDUCATED FUCKTARD, PEREZ!
I just have this to say to the Chinese government…No Olympics, no Most Favored Nation Status, NO TRADE WITH CHINA!!! TIBET TIBET TIBET….
Hong Kong is fine, its a part of China but the Administration & Attitude is absolutely different! Ban & boycott China but Hong Kong loves foreigners
You are the biggest hypocrite. How can you support positive change for gays and lesbians and then denounce the actions of people who want to shed light on some of the inequities people suffer in China? Change doesn't happen out of nothing. People have to step up and force action. What have you done lately?
