Crocs vs. Skechers: It's War!

Women's Wear Daily reports that Crocs is suing Skechers for 'stealing' their designs and logos.
Meow!
Skechers responded to the allegations in a statement issued by their lawyer, saying, "We believe that this lawsuit is completely without merit and will vigorously defend ourselves against such baseless accusations."
Crocs are pictured to the left and one of the Skechers designs named in the lawsuit is pictured on right.

I've known skechers for always copying styles from different brands. That being said, I don't like both brands.

Sketchers did the same thing with Buffalos and Pods years ago. About time someone takes them on for always ripping off designs!
Skechers clearly stole the design from Crocs. It's pretty obvious, isn't it? Ugly or not, the people at Skechers think they're pretty decent to use the same design.

My mom is a copyright/trademark lawyer who, for all I know, could be the one suing Skechers since I'm pretty sure she's sued them before and anyway, from being her daughter, I've learned some tricks of the trade. For example, how to tell when something is a complete knock off and this completely is so yeah, I don't like Crocs but I hope Skechers gets what it deserves.

there are LOTS of brands copying crocs….lots, i see those things everywhere, they have the right to sue the pants of those fuckers, it was there idea and everyones profiting off of it.
they are quite comfortable, and light, i wear them all the time at camp and in the water, i like them because you can get them dirty and wet and they just rinse clean and dry, even the white ones! and they float! if your walking around LA trying to be cool then you obviously wouldnt want a pair, but if your a real person who doesnt give a shit whats on your feet and you want a shoe that wont get ruined if it touches dirt and water and keeps your feet cool and are light and airy to walk in then go for it, its like everyone in my city has a pair, although I dont wear mine "out", some people do, which is funny.

My line of work requires me to be on my feet all day, so I wear crocs for comfort. But the style I bought is actually pretty cute (NOT like the ones pictures above). It's a black mary-jane style and it actually looks good with capri pants or a knee length skirt. NOT to mention: COMFY!
i do not see any wrong doing on skechers behalf. crocs need to get over it, and realize everyone not just skechers has made a lookalike. i have seen other croc knockoffs that look more like them than the skechers! so why pursue just skechers? because of all the publicity they will get? that is not fair! then you need to go after all of them. but in my opinion the skechers look better, and both are ugly!!!!!!!!!!!!
A direct ripoff, and there are many. Walmart, Target Kmart, etc. all have their own fake Crocs. If they sued them all, all of their profits would go right to the lawyers. Just get over it, ride the wave as far as it will take you, and keep creating new designs.
