Sad sad news.
Estelle Getty has passed away.
The legendary actress died today in her Los Angeles home at 5:35 A.M.
She was 84.
While this is truly sad news, we must be comforted to know that she is in a better place now.
The Golden Girl had been very sick recently and had been fighting dementia for years.
Our thoughts go out to her family.
So sad.

I have to say that I'm actually glad that she is gone because I heard the dementia was getting worse and worse. I don't think her death is sad at all.
She lived her life and she has left her imprint in the crazy character of Sophia Petrillo, the woman who could be a smartass to you and yet you still would love her. LOL!!
She's pain free that's the important part. Thanks for the memories Estelle! Obviously you will have God laughing until his (or her!) belly hurts!! LOL!
My deepest condolences to her family.. I loved watching "Golden Girls" when it came out in the 80's and I still love watching it now… It's one of the best sit coms there is.. I was just watching it about an hour ago ( on L.A. time)… "Sophia" stole the show!!! I hope her sons are comforted in that…. She was a comedic genius…
