We thought she was on the road to recovery, but it's clearly an ongoing battle for Allegra.
Hopefully she finds her way before something tragic happens!

Perez you are such a hypocrite! Why are you being so nice to Allegra?? Kissing ass perhaps?? You are constantly ripping on people for their drug abuse and that is every bit as much of a disease as anorexia. Amy Winehouse is out of control of her addictions just as Allegra is out of control with her eating disorder. Yet, you are constanly treating Amy like she is a piece of sh$# and Allegra gets nothing but your best wishes. I can't stand you!

It seems like a lot of people are insulting her family and saying they aren't trying to help her. That is not the case. Her family has tried very hard to treat her and have taken her to doctors, etc. Anorexia is extremely difficult to treat. It is sad, however, that her mother is so thin. I imagine she was raised watching her mother diet and seeing all the supermodels/fashion/etc and became very unhealthy. Anorexia isn't a disease about being fat/thin but rather about control. If she felt something in her life was lacking (attention, love, or an explainable depression, etc) she might have learned to equate being thin with being beautiful and loved– hence the problem developed.
Why can't Her Family just Hospitalize Her? She's slowly killing Herself and I believe that is against the Law!!!
Sadly, she looks better. I think she's gained about 15 lbs.
Some one PLEASE get this poor girl some help/rehab. Oh my gosh that is sad!

Anorexia is a serious mental illness. It has the highest death rate of all psychiatric illnesses. I suggest that those mocking the severity of her condition consider that.

let's not forget that anorexia is a serious mental health issue, not just some attention seeking control tantrum. it takes years for recovering anorexics to accept that they do not look fat, if they ever really do accept it. it it a constant fight for the rest of their lives to eat normally and healthily. whilst she is extremely thin, she has improved by a huge margin and will continue to do so only with the love and support of those around her. this is not an appropriate situation for people to be making vile remarks about. save your bile for those who genuinely do create their own problems and leave this girl alone to recover.

Also, she has had help. Being a mother doesn't mean you can control your children. It's just like an addict. You can pay ten's of thousands of dollars to rehabilitate your child, but that doesn't guarantee it will work. You can love your child purely and thoroughly, but that doesn't mean they won't end up anorexic. It can keep you up at night wondering if your child will die- but that doesn't cure them.

Eating Disorders ARE diseases! I have dealt with one for 10 years now and I have been in and out of treatment. It is something I continue to battle everyday. It is a mental disorder that is listed in the manual that psychiatrists use and it can be brought on by many different things. So, do your research on it before you say horrible things about others!

A few curves and presto???? It's called having enough fat on your body to support not only a fucking baby but a menstrual cycle as well. Athletes, the painfully thin, and those who are just pure muscle have few to zero menstrual periods. There is no way Allegra bleeds monthly with a body like that. No fucking way. I am shocked she hasn't succumbed to heart failure… anorexics/bullimics often have multiple heart issues before they just go altogether. Additionally, whoever thinks she's pretty needs to pop another… that girls face is as ugly as her mothers. And no doubt she's starving herself… she grew up amongst the fashion models. 1) She is getting help. She has been getting help for years. However, she has a severe eating disorder. People who have gotten over heroin addiction, alcoholism and anorexia have said that the eating disorder was the hardest to recover from.

2) It is not about vanity. It is not about food. It is not about trying to be skinny like some model. Anorexia and bulimia are coping mechanisms used by people who are dealing with unspeakable emotional issues (as well as those who have been severely sexually, physically and emotionally abused). The disorder gets to the point where one can NOT just pick something up and eat it. It sounds unbelievable but it is true. It is like having a monster in your brain controlling you. You may want to eat, but you are not "allowed". It sucks.

3) Anorexics/Bulimics are not selfish. Most of them are the most caring and sympathetic people you will ever meet. They care all about others but not about themselves. They are the caregivers of a family.
4) She can't look in the mirror and see how skinny she is. When you have anorexia, you develop (or start out with) a distorted body image. It is like looking into one of those warped mirrors at a fair. You simply can NOT see it. It takes years to get rid of that, even after gaining the wait and learning to eat again. I find it terribly sad how few of you have so little understanding of this illness. The only ones who did were those who had gone through it or had someone close to them who was going through it

Of course her mother must know about it, the thing is you cant FORCE someone into treatment unless they know they've hit rock bottom, they have to be the ones making the decision to get help.
