I think if you give enough rope to someone they will hang themselves, just as Perez Hilton has done. Some people like Perez believe in their own fame and think that they are above any constraints of common decency. Hasselhoff’s daughter, is already in college and so would not fit the details of the rumor published by Hilton. Beatty, on the other hand, just finished her 10th grade year at Buckley.

I have a cousin that is a transgender boy and his life was far from rosy during his transition, without being publicly outted on the internet. I can't imagine the trauma this must cause. I would not say that Perez is transphobic, but I cannot say that he is knowledgeable of and sensitive to the challenges of transgendered experience, and there are many gay men who are prejudiced against trans-individuals.
