First off I am not an American. But this type of politics is so disappointing. I am a big supporter of Barrack Obama. I hope that he gets elected; I think the relations between the USA and Canada will improve exponentially if he gets into office. Obama in '08.
The reason Mr. Obama receives such favorable press coverage is that he is the chosen candidate of a particularly influential and powerful money machine, elitist to the core. This machine doesn't like America very much and is bent on changing the very nature of America, so naturally it would choose a candidate who is not dedicated to American traditions. The news media almost universally fail to admit that it's probably not a good sign that Hamas has "endorsed" Mr. Obama, since Hamas is probably the only thing now that is preventing a permanent peace settlement in the Middle East. It certainly isn't a good sign that Fidel has "endorsed" him because Fidel is the Marxist dictator who imposed his imprisoning will on the once lively nation of Cuba. The idea that Mr. Obama is something new and different for the American people is a very carefully cultivated piece of illusion, because while he truly is something different, the signs all point to his being something different in the most negative way possible for America. And then of course there is the matter of taxes. A democratic Congress coupled with Mr Obama in the White House is a recipe for raising taxes through the roof and into the statosphere.
