Sources reveal exclusively to PerezHilton.com that British funny man Russell Brand has been tapped to host this year's MTV Video Music Awards, airing from Los Angeles in September.

Well, he's massive in the U.K. and has awards show hosting experience. Brand was the M.C. at the Brit Awards two years ago, which we attended.
Russell is also crazy. So, this should be interesting.
Who knows what the Forgetting Sarah Marshall star will have up his sleeve for the MTV audience?!
