Olympic Hopeful Tests Dope Positive

U.S. swimmer Jessica Hardy won't get to compete at the Olympics in Beijing.
According to reports, the Southern California native tested positive for a banned substance.
Hardy can pursue appeals with the American Arbitration Association and the Court of Arbitration for Sport.
With just two weeks til Beijing, Hardy could appeal directly to the arbitration court, whose ruling would be final and binding.
Typically, a first-time doping offense results in a two-year ban.
Hardy earned spots on her first Olympic team in her best event, the 100 breast, and the 50 freestyle and 400 free relay.
She was expected to be a medal threat in the 100-meter breaststroke, and to play an important part on the U.S. 400-meter free relay team, and possibly the 400 medley relay.
If she's really innocent she should totally appeal.

By doing this, she ruined the dreams of all the girls she beat out unfairly. Like Tara Kirk and Lara Jackson.
And to think she has the American record in breaststroke.

The girl tested positive for something. I don't know much about the "dope" thing but if I were a Olympic qualifing athlete I would not even eat a poppy seed muffin. They know that they are going to be tested…do they not give a shit or do they just think that they are exempt?? Either way they are losers for doing that when they have the whole world in the palm of their hands. People make choices, and they aren't forced to compete. It is just like college basketball, anymore you hear of these kids getting "encouragement" from the alumni. this used to be the purest sport, but people taint everything. There are rules for a reason.
US athletes are almost ALL dope cheats. EVERYONE knows that.
its clenbuterol, not dope, not steroids. clenbuterol is a drug used to treat breathing disorders in horses. in the us its banned for human use but it is available in other countries. more often then not clenbuterol is used by humans not for asthma but for weight loss. the drug is used so that athletes look more lean and cut. not necessarily proof that she was using steroids as well, but the two are often used togethor. steroids during training, then clenbuterol before a competition. regardless its illegal as well, so she cheated, shes out
Man, I hope shes innocent…I used to train with her when we were young. When we were swimming together she slipped on the wet ground and destroyed her kneecap…she was out of swimming for such a long time and the next i heard of her she was excelling in breastroke….after all that recovery and hardwork she made it to beijing…i cant imagine nor remember her to be the type of person to do that sh*t.
