I too love DMB Crash into Me and was quite prepared to dislike Stevie's version however I do like it.
It's Crash Into Me, not Crash….that's the album title. It's a beautiful song - my wedding song. This version is alright but Dave's is haunting.

This was a nice surprise. It's a great version of Crash into me. Her deep feminine vocals work well with this song. I think Nicks is a better writer than Dave Matthews though. Her songs seem to stand the test of time. Maybe this song will too. Good job!

I'm a huge Dave fan, but this version was great!!! I loved Stevie Nicks as a child because they were my parents favorite band. We had many years of camping trips and tapes of Stevie Nicks blaring on the stereo, so it's nice to see my parents favorite band covering my favorite bands most popular song!!!

This is amazing. I highly suggest going to see Fleetwood Mac next year. I saw them in 2003, as well as Lindsay Buckingham's solo tour and they were both incredible shows, filled with emotion. Their presence on-stage is like nothing you'll ever experience anywhere else.

great song…two great singers……glad she covered it…..but she flubbed the words on some important lines….too much "acting" on her part. do it with emotion/feeling like you used to. seemed forced and unconnected. however, still forwarded it on to friends. great effort, but doesn't touch dave's effort or passion levels. maybe he too will act like he's singing a soundtrack to hamlet when he's 60?????

The woman is advertising him by singing one of his songs. Now, someone who has never heard of him might be tempted to check out the original, whereas before they may never have because they would have never known who he was. Whether you like this version or not, Stevie, or any artist for that matter who covers someones song, is exposing more people to that artist, and increasing their royalties at the same time, so stop hating.
out of respect, i just gave this tune another listen. great song….good cover. but it is clear that however great the lyrics are (and they're damn good)…..it is dave and the BAND, that make "crash into me" such a great song. stevie's voice is second to none, but the mixer had her band turned down to showcase her vocals - which were good………..but it just goes to show you……..this song is a complete experience! not a showcase, cover/vocal song……..but, i will still buy that ticket to fleetwood mac when they come to town. keep rehearsing this one, it was no landslide (on stevie's part)………

Good news! Stevie Nicks seems to be regaining some of her vocal range back after ruining her nasal passages with that nasty "vitamin C" for all those years. It's good to leave one note Stevie in the dust….

Sadly, I didn't like it. She has such a wonderful, unique voice which is perfect for songs like "Gypsy" and "Edge of Seventeen", but it's just too brittle for this particular song. The song requires a smooth, silky voice like DM's (although I hate it when he mumbles) and it just isn't suited to her. She also went flat in a few places.
Having said that, the woman ROCKS! She's a class act all the way and could surely show Madonna a thing or two about growing older gracefully and staying relevant. And for a woman of her age, she is still just insanely beautiful! While Madonna practically reeks of desperation, Stevie doesn't even have to try. She is who she is and people love her for it.

This version is gorgeous and way more enjoyable than the DMB version. Dave is a fine musician and songwriter, but his singing voice is incredibly overbearing, relying too much on vocal histrionics that are merely distracting to the beauty of the songs he pens. Stevie's vocals are far more nuanced, showing both a coarseness and tenderness that infuses every song she sings with a unique and startling beauty.
She's brilliant, but as I watch her preformance get stiffer, I can't help but worry that she'll break a hip. Stevie, i love you. Don't break your hip.

Do not want. Stevie's voice was a force to be reckoned with during the 70s and even into the 80s. She still had most of it in 1997, but after that, it all but disappeared. I still like her, but I can't say her voice moves me the way it used to.
