Due to the surgery he had to have on his hand Sunday as a result of his drunk driving collision, Shia LaDouche is going to be out of commission for a while - about a month.
We're sure EVERYONE involved with Transformers 2, which he's currently filming, will be THRILLED for the delays and unnecessary costs Shia is going to cost him.
LaDouche's publicist has released this statement following his drunk driving arrest and subsequent hospitalization/surgery:
"Attorneys for Mr. LaBeouf confirm that an automobile accident involving an additional party occurred early morning in Los Angeles on July 27, 2008. Shia is currently recovering from extensive hand surgery with plans to return to work on the set of Transformers 2 within one month. No further comment will be issued at this time."
We hope he doesn't become the male Lindsay Lohan.

Perez is a little slow on the uptake today. I sent in my tip but whatever. I was at the MGMT and The Ting Tings show today at McCarren Park in Brooklyn. I was in the VIP section but wanted to get out so I could see the bands better. Once I was out of VIP I saw Agenyss Deyn, Sean Lennon and a friend saw Kiersten Dunst. Sean lennon was pretty much exactly what youd expect. Possibly a little heavier but not fat.However Agyness was a lot shorter than expected. Im 5'2" and she didnt seem to be that much bigger, maybe 5"10". I had pegged her at 6 feet prior to seeing her in person. She was wearing a black dress with red boots. Nothing spectacular and certainly not trendy for Brooklyn. Her hair is really short now. She did not stand out from the crowd at all. Shes pretty but there were a lot more prettier girls there. She was by herself texting away at that time, but she was there with the guy from Franz Ferdinand and one of the guys from 5 O'Clock Heroes, but they were all obviously just friends, nothing juicy. I didnt take out my camera. Ive been to enough VIP shit that I know thats just not a cool thing to do. My friends and I just kept walking without talking to anyone. It was a great show. Ting Tings are THE band to see live.
He took no responsibility for his first arrest, so the pattern of his behaviour was predictable: worse and worse, followed by excuses and complaints every time authority told him to straighten up and fly right.

it's the movie's own fault for hiring him. In the real world, when you have legal troubles like that (aka drunk driving) you don't get jobs and you have to disclose all that. Youre a liability and a hassle. The movie should have gone with someone more responsible and reliable.
I am willing to bet that 99% of people who have consumed alcohol in their youth have gotten behind the wheel of a car at some point If you didn't get caught you are LUCKY! When a star actor is sleected for a film role, the production company has to acquire a COMPLETION BOND, essentially insurance that the film will be made on time and within budget If Shia loses a deisred role because he cannot get a completion bond, THAT may be the slap in the face that he needs.
