Selfish assholes. Seriously, I know it's a cliche to say it but there are a LOT of people dying because of where they live and don't have a good home and then we have Cletus and Brandeen here churning out tax drains like we're running out of morons! There is no way all these kids are getting adequate parental suport, and no way they are affording them all on their own, how much does it cost bringing up TWO kids let alone NINE TIMES that figure!!! My husband and I have been together for over 20 years (10 shacking up, 10 married) are intentionally childless. I think it's a major reason we're still together.
I love kids and volunteer as a TA at our local elementary school. There are plenty of ways to help children without acting like a professional brood mare.

There is nothing wrong with trying to raise good, God-fearing people. I work with troubled kids… I know firsthand that there are many bad apples. But the world is not big enough to sustain us all. Not to mention the biggest component of our landfills are disposable diapers.
Honestly though, do they not know there's already a water shortage? Are they raising environmentally conscious children who will advocate for the needs of the earth? After all, God created the earth right?
It's a free country where people can have as many children as they want but will these kids create their own water? With the clean water supply expected to last another fifty years at the rate that it's being depleted, do the Duggars care to ensure that the planet will have the resources to support them? As well as everyone else? The pope recently declared abuse of the planet as a modern day sin, do the Duggars have any environmental practices in place?
And do those children really have a "choice" to lead their own lives? Are they truly encouraged to be who they want to be? Or are they forced to execute the will of their parents? Long ago it may have been the norm for women to be baby machines but women also couldn't vote back then. Are they encouraging the girls be career women or homemakers?
Alas, any couple who chooses to broadcast this lifestyle with a tv show should expect the glare and scrutiny that "fame" brings.

All the females have long haiur and must wear dresses. the boys are clean cut and always dressed "appropriately". I have never seen a group of kids so well behaved. What I wonder though, is if anybody has studied the psychological effect it has on their children. The house is beautiful and immaculately clean. It looks more like a hotel or a nice nursing home. Where are the family photos? Where are the special keepsakes and cherished momentos? I wonder if the children don't feel somewhat institutionalized. The oldest boy says he wants to be a lawyer. Does anybody know what they are doing to make that happen for him? I live about 5 miles from these people…I see them at Sam's all the time and they are the NICEST people you could ever meet! Lay off HATERS. It's their right to have as many children as they like. We are encouraged to someday marry and have children (not 20, but a decent size so that you can give attention, love and proper care to each child) and raise them to be good, upstanding citizens who abide by the law and help those around them. Since when is that a bad thing? This isn't a rule, but is encouraged. Many young people now are having less opportunities to marry and go on to lead wonderful, happy lives. Marriage is a wonderful thing, but we aren't being forced into it or being forced to have 20 kids. Mormons and Pentacostals are totally different religions. Some of you people need help/to do your research/ be a little more openminded and a little less vulgar with your wording.
