That apartment is so cheap looking. My college apartment was almost exactly like that. Cheap carpet, cheap cabinets, formica counters, vertical blinds. I was shocked that you would advertise how ugly and cheap you apartment is. And that spiral staircase?! Omigod. That was the absolutely cheapest, 1970's era thing I've ever seen. Love your crib. A highlight is def. your closet - to die for. Almost your entire apartment really shows your unique & fun style - it shows a bit of you. I think that is what makes it special. Perez, just wanted to say that I know what your ad rates are because my husband's company looked into buying ads on your blog…… and for someone who makes what you make, it tells me how smart you are that you are relatively conservative with your money. This might not last forever, but since not being an overspending mega-flashy moron, you might have some left if it ever ends.
People who comment that they expected more have a deluded concept of how people with money should live. No wonder we have so many people losing everything because they overextended themselves. I'm married to an entrepreneur, and we have had many financial ups and downs…. but because we live like "normal" people, we barely notice during the downs. We just take really nice vacations during the ups.
And to those who are appalled that his mom is his "cleaning lady"…..
Um, she probably has one of the easiest jobs there is, cleaning up after a single man in an average size apartment. I'm going to guess that she does NOT work even close to 40 hours a week, and he probably pays her pretty well. She's already got "one-up" on millions of Americans who don't have health insurance, too! Not to mention she gets to spend lots of time with her son!!!
My husband employs his own mother in our business, too. She wanted something to do. It makes her happy to help him with his business in the ways she knows how….. but I suppose those same people will think we are awful, too.
