Lame Excuse

Filed under: Broadway Babies > Rosie O'Donnell

mx0025971.jpg

Rosie O'Donnell was set to perform at the Hollywood Bowl's presentation of Les Misérables in concert later this summer.

However, O'Donnell has just pulled out of the show.

The reason?

She's having a family "emergency."

Her eldest son has a broken his wrist.

Broadway veteran Ruth Williamson will be replacing Rosie in the production.

A statement from the Hollywood Bowl says Rosie has "regretfully withdrawn from the performances in order to care for her eldest son, who broke his wrist."

So it seems Rosie has to stay home and stare at it while the bones heal?

She's going to cancel on her fans over a cast?

Doesn't she have her wife Kelli to help out and look after the kids????

Whatever. She's always put her kids first. Why is this a big deal? Her son broke his wrist..she feels the need to stay home. Everyone is always on her case about being a bad mom(when there is no proof) and when she does things like this..a GOOD MOM DOES you're all pissed off and unhappy still.

I think there is more to this story than meets the eye.

  3. 103

I dislike Rosie but I think she is right by staying with her kid and taking care of him, you are just a freaking retard, you have no idea of how is it to have kids and raise them!!! Respect for her who declined that invitation and chose to stay with her lil one.

I despise this woman with a passion that I myself find hard to understand. Perhaps it's the self-righteous attitude. But this is a decison I can appreciate.

However, your comments, Mario, demonstrate just how far from reality you really are. More useless "reporting" from an untalented and insecure man with deep self-esteem issues.

She was trying to explain to Parker why as a teenager it was very important to listen to HER!. He broke away, she broke his wrist, now she's got to go to jail! Explains, everything!

Perez, become a parent and then get back to me with your vast understanding of such things. You're an idiot.

You are messed up Perez. She is taking care of her son! Why are you going to fault someone for staying home to take care of her son that has a broken wrist? It's called PARENTING! if she had gone ahead with the show you would have said she neglected her kid while he was in the hospital. You are such a loser Perez.

Perez, my boyfriend is actually in the cast for this production and was told that Rosie's son has to actually have surgery on his wrist. She didnt want to not be there when her son is going to be in possibly one or more operations. The cast only has less than 2 weeks to pull the show together and being in this kind of a time crunch didnt allow her to leave for the day or days of surgery like a normal show.

    112

She should just RETIRE! She is a lazy fat cow and an emotional wreck the cast is blessed she's not working with them. She's made enough money to retire and no one likes her anymore!

Mario…. If you were a parent you would understand.
Her priorities are just the way they shoud be.
The break was quite serious. He had to have surgery.
    Children come first. Period.

    114

oh please. if she would have done the show with her kid just injured, serious or not, you would have been the first to call her a bad mom. so shut the eff up.

My son broke his leg last month. My husband and I both didn't miss work to stay home with him. That's crazy. One parent would have been sufficient. She just was not prepared for her event. Bad to use her son as an excuse. Bad Karma…

  16. 116

Here u go again…flapping ur fat yap about shit that u have no idea about. Unless u have ur own kids you'll never understand and hopefully for the kids sake u never will. Is the rumor true about the Mc Donalds Big Mac Bday?? U and that GIGANTIC Kardashian chick went at it in a tub of secret sauce for the chance to taste the burger cake. No doubt… u both look like bitches who eat their feelings of self hatred.

Her kid is not mentally disabled. He is 13 and broke his wrist badly….badly enough to require surgery. Yep….shame on her for wanting to stay home and take care of a hurt kid…awful what this world is coming too.

    118

yeh? and whats her excuse for shutting down her blog, whick she does from her house?

  19. Patri says – reply to this

    119

Perhaps Rosie wants to be with her kid during this injury, as opposed to flying across country to due a few performances. It's called being a good parent, not that you would understand that. Not everyone is willing to whore themselves and their families out for a few bucks, the way that you do, Perez.

    Re: clamr
Her blog is not shut down you effing moron. You must be related to the idiot owner of this one.

I said it earlier and others have said it too. She was in a no win situation with you on this one Perezhit. If she went to LA you would have cast her as an unfit mother by going. By staying you dogged her anyways.

As to comments about not needing two parents home. And you know the schedule of the other parent — NOT. Most families the parents work in the same place they live so if something happened in surgery, they have easy access to get there. To go to LA when surgery in NYC — eff off idiots. Can tell by the answers who are parents and who are not. You're unfit before you even have them.

According to her site which she has conviently stopped for a while, Parker is 14 years old. I could understand if this was a first broken bone for her family but she herself said on her site that her daughter has had 3 broken bones and her son Blake has had 2 so this should be no big deal for her then. Sounds to me that it was an easy way out!

    122

is that alot of broken bones the girl 3 blake 2 parker wrist. I don't know, just asking parents out there.

    Re: Rhond
No it's not a lot of broken bones. Realize, this family is more active than most families now. Most kids sit in front of a tv or computer. Her kids do not watch tv or play much on computer. They actually play outside. What a concept for kids these days. Parents should try it more often and then they won't have obese kids stuffing their face in front of the telly

    Re: Rhond
No it is not. These kids actually play a lot outside. Something most kids don't do as they sit in front of the tv or computer stuffing their face. Her kids do not watch tv and play very little on computer. What a concept. Parents should try it sometime and then they won't be whining about having obese children.

Perez, you have no idea what is going on in her family, and you have no idea how the boy broke his wrist, so I would think it would be best to keep your judgments to yourself.

Re: Deb – My sister and I grew up in the country, real tom boys, climbed trees, ponies, mini-bikes, we had it all, never broke anything. Guess I should just count my blessings. Thanks, It seemed like alot of injuries, but I don't have kids.

why is everyone feel the need to be so nasty and mean about Rosie, I hope you feel like sh*% after it spews outta your mouth. I think good on her for HER choice in HER life

  30. stuff says – reply to this

    130

really? you're giving her a hard time for staying home to be with her son who broke his wrist? good for her. i don't know her, but that seems like a really normal parent thing to do. real parents are there for thier kids when they are hurt - whether need to be waited on ahnd and foot or not. interesting that this draws criticism but you fall all over yourself to suckle at the collective jolie-pitt family teet, and draw angel wings and halos over them for being such great parnets, but they have 4 nannies and a baby nurse. just saying …
