The Sopranos' Vincent "Big Pussy" Pastore is set to play a mobster in the ABC soap General Hospital.
Looks like Puss has gone from the Majors to the Minors.
Sad!
Are there any other shows, outside of GH, that prominently features gangsters at the moment?
Does that mean we may see Uncle Junior or Paulie on General Hospital too?

I've been watching GH for a while, and just recently dropped it because of the overplayed mob storylines. That's all they need is another Mobster added to the mix. I'm glad that he has found another job, and I don't think it's a step down at all.
Don't be too quick to denigrate GH. The pace is fast, the requirements of learning dialogue are enormous and the writing and cast are all first rate. He's LUCKY to be cast on that show!
It's really easy to look down your cute little nose at daytime dramas but there's some seriously good acting happening there AND there aren't any reruns (unless you count SoapNet - and I do not).

Re: Booga – You have my sympathies then. I have always heard that Y&R stayed true to the genre. If it is going the way of GH, good luck, your show will be ruined in a years time. GH was destroyed by its mob storylines. I barely watch anymore.
I remember when GH used to be a show about doctors and nurses and their lives. Then the show went off on this gangster tangent and it became unwatchable. So a big 'who cares?' for arrival of yet another mobster.
Why is it that he can only play gangster? This is hollywood stereotyping, WRONG and im sick of it!!!

So can't agree with you here. Any show that gives me a hot man like that 5 days a week is best in my book. Remember the name though - he'll be on this blog in the years to come, guaranteed.
But on a personal note, I do wish they'd quit with the mob shit. Soaps watchers aren't made of men who like Godfather crap.
GH is a step up from talking or rather writing gossip all day and night.
Soap actors make bank, and stay out of trouble unlike all your hollywood whores
