Did You Feel That???
OMG!
An earthquake just hit us in Los Angeles before noon Pacific time!
Thankfully, it doesn't seem like it was HUGE, but it was pretty damn big.
That was our first earthquake we've experienced in California.
And it was scary!
Update: It was a 5.8. The epicenter was in Chino.
That's big!

perez jumped up and screamed like a girl
We felt it in San Diego! So this must have been pretty big then. I hear a bigger one is due soon.
Note to self: Don't forget to put your plasma on a stable place… I left mine sitting on a ledge! O geez
Craig Nodland went to college in Chino. He doesn't live there anymore.
I think God is telling all you materialistic, queer fucks to wake the hell up before it's too late.
I hope everybody is okay.
I work like not even 10 miles from Chino and i work on second floor and i was scared. i was under my desk. lol.
I was working in my garden in Covina and all the trees started shaking like crazy and I thought a plane or something had crashed into the yard. When I went inside the house everything from my shelves was on the floor.
I'm at disneyland and all the rides are closed! I was standing in line on pirates of the Caribbean when it happened and it felt so big there
omg i was in the shower and i felt it
so weird
Scarey…
I'm in the High Desert.
I thought it was fun.
:D
i've been in cali for like 6 years now and i've never felt an earthquake. of course i'm in norcal so we don't get all the fun. i'm used to tornados and fun stuff like that. i wanna feel one!
Felt it hard in El Cajon too, 8 miles east of San Diego, and 30 miles from Mexico border. Perez, to give you more peace of mind have water, flashlight, snack stuff, change of clothes and all valuables all in a place to run out the door or in the trunk of your car. Welcome to Cali!
Felt it in westwood. It was definitely a roller that went on and on…nothing feel off a shelf or anything though. Whew, glad it's over.
Uh, when P-Nasty wrote "OUR first eathquake, WE experienced.." he meant himself, Teddy and whomever else is there (his mama?) and not Californians.
That brown background for the hills add is hideous. The whole ad is hideous. Mtv, fix your add it sucks!!
its actually chino hills….right next to chino….but big difference…. i live there…nothing ever happens here….but fuck i guess im satistfied with a center of a quake!!! LOVE YOU PEREZ
my dad called me and let me know that there was an earthquake. im from AZ, and if that quake was big, we would have felt it from here also. i mean, if nevada felt it, we would have felt it also. im glad that everything is ok.
For sure felt it in Pasadena, CA…lasted about 20 seconds…started with a rumble then a jolt then gliding back and forth for a while. I'm just glad there was no major damage and everyone is safe.
it's 5.4 you're stupid! -_-
OMG CHICA, PLEASE WATCH YOURSELF….WE DON'T WANT ANYTHING TO HAPPEN TO YOU SWEETIE….YOUR FIRST EARTHQUAKE….I'M SURE IT WAS SCARY AND EXCITING!!!!…WATCH OUT FOR THE AFTER RUMBLES (THEY ARE COMING)
You have now been baptised into Souther California, Welcome!
felt it n Chino
OMG!!! IT WAS SOOOO STRONG! IM STILL SHAKING!
i think the earth is trying to say something to us!! but we are so damn stupit that we dont do anything about it! WE KNOW WHATS GOING ON AND WHY DONT WE DO SOMETHING? LAME OF US AS PART OF THE WORLD ( IS OUR HOUSE WE SHOULD TAKE CARE OF IT)!1 OR ELSE IT WILL BE TOO LATTTTTE!
So they keep changing how big it was. First it was 5.6, then 5.8, now the USGS site is reporting it as 5.4.
But yeah, we did feel the quake all the way in Hemet
i was in covina when it happened and it was MIGHTY STRONG with a long rolling motion. all the shelves at work collapsed, doors were swinging and windows cracked. perez, what you felt was nothing…lucky for you!
We felt it here in Santa Barbara. Though I didn't even bother to get out of bed because it wasn't big enough.
In Riverside here. It was a big one. Knocked some of my stuff off the walls and phone service was out for awhile. I had to grab the kids and run for a doorway. First big one we've had in awhile.
The U.S. Geological Survey has it as a 5.4 quake, not a 5.8. Video footage to come, no doubt. Hang on!
THAT'S WHAT HAPPENS WHEN YOU PUT LAUREN CONRAD ON YOUR MAIN PAGE !
Oh Perez -
That was just you rocking our world!
I totally felt it….scary scary….we haven't had an earthquake out here in a while.
there will be another huge and worse by december
Rockin' and rollin' in Covina, CA.
I work and live in Santa Clarita- about 30 45 min north of Chino right by Magic Mountain and felt it, big time! I was sitting in my chair at work and was riding out the first part, thought it was gonna stop and it kept going. It brings me back to 1993 when the big Northridge quake happened. Unfortuantly its a familar feeling. Hope everyone close by the epi is safe.
Re: lena – For real? C'mon now, earthquakes have been around since the dawn of time. It's not the earth trying to "tell us" anything. Lame
as a lot have said its been downgraded now to a 5.4 man i knew it wasnt big. the only issue was that it lasted a long time. its no biggie.
It was actually a 5.4…Caltech thinks they're smarter than everyone else
Just wanted to clarify, the epicenter was in Chino Hills, not Chino. and it's confirmed as a 5.4. You're right, it wasn't a huge quake; I still hope that everyone is okay.
i felt it and to correct perez…it was NOT the first earthquake in california…we had a 7.6 bout 9 years ago..that was pretty scary..loves perez.
Felt it in Santa Barbara!
HAHAH you were freaked out? We had a shaker that size last fall and really… I think we are used to it. We are also built to withstand, so there's rarely damage. Maybe SoCal should take a page from our book?
Oooh if I had it my way, L.A. would sink into the ocean and leave Disneyland behind.
Felt it 70 miles away in Big Bear Lake!
I hate Earthquakes!
I thought I was having a seizure…:0)
1987 Whittier quake was worse!
I was standing in my kitchen making a dill havarti grilled cheese :p
That bitch was fierce. The sandwich too. I live 2 miles across the chino border. It was the worst one i've felt since Northridge.
Omg yeah i was working out when it hit. It was pretty scary.
Thats not "big", shoulda been there for the Northridge or Big Bear quakes.
5.8? dude, that's nothing. come here to latin america…where 5.8 earthquakes are no big deal since my country has 3 plates and are constantly moving, but guess it is when you never been on one, this is huge. hope everyone is ok.
Just felt another aftershock. According to caltech it was a 3.6 in Chino Hills again.
no joke…i was watching Ocean's Thirteen and the earthquake started right when Brad Pitt told the guy to drill the earth to create a fake earthquake…i thought someone was playing a joke on me….it was totally bizarre!!!
OMG hope you guys in California are all-right. News says 5.4 but an earthquake is an earthquake no matter the size I went thru one in Japan and It scared the piss right out of me.
I felt it in Oceanside! My first one too, and it pretty much freaked me out. Glad I'm not way up there!!
I grabbed hold of the rug and hung on for dear life. I felt like I was being dribbled like a basketball. My nuts were slammed and my neck hurts. Could've been that Chinese chic I hired to give me a message, plus I live in Miami.
Re: Ontar – This one totally reminded me of Northridge.
I hate Earthquakes!
I thought I was having a seizure at first…:0)
I miss living in CA! I went thru the 1989 quake in the Bay Area…THAT was scary! Hope everyone is ok in LA!
I just moved to Riverside CA from Texas. That earthquake made me miss the tornado's and hail storms there. That was the weirdest thing. No me gusta!
am working in monrovia and it shook the ground for a good long time. it was my first ever as well, and was incredibly cool, although it could be scary if worse.
IT FELT HORRIBLE…MAYBE NOT AS BAD THAN IN CHINO….ALL YOU DOUCHE BAGS SAYN WERE FINE WE DONT LIVE THERE PISS OFF, IF IT HAD BEEN A DISASTER YOU GUYS WOULD NOT BE BEING SOOOO SARCASTIC! UGH!
Please tell me Spencer & Heidi were the only 2 that died during it
It was my 1st too. I just moved here in March, it was powerful to me here in Studio City.
I was so unsure of which precious object to hold onto I just looked at them all and willed them to stay on the shelves
Re: Booge – Hey!! Redlands!! Represent!! haven't really felt a GOOd earthquake since moving from Redlands three years ago!! I really miss my 112 degree summers in Redlands!! LOL Hey, My daughter asked me "is it earthquake weather??" I wouldn't know since I'm in Oceanside but how about it??? Is it real hot and still up there?
if this states a-rockin' don't come a-knockin'
Loves I believe perez meant that it was his first earthquake he felt in Cali, well I didn't feel it I was driving but my mom called me freaked out to go and get my daughter from daycare so I did my daughter didn't know what was going on but I'd rather have her with me right now, im in the san fernando valley and everyone I know felt it pretty bad but this is nothing compared to the northridge earthquake but still scary we are due for the big one soon so we gotta get prepared.
Re: Meeee – OMG!!! I am ROFLMAO!!! Thanks for the great visual!!
Our building was rolling here in Northridge, my bf is in a high rise in Beverly Hills- all of the cell phone lines were jammed forever- LA without cell phone access = chaos
I work in at a state facility in diamond bar and we had structure damage to our some of our buildings in our facility. The quake was centered in chino hills, and it was a 5.4.
it was so scary and it was a strong one!
things fell out of my kitchen!
i was in the AON building in Downtown LA
(2nd tallest building)
45th floor
we shook for 10 minutes
insane
Yeah, you popped your California cherry. ha
I have lived in Cali all my life and I still don't get used to them. But I am glad to hear that you are Teddy are ok.
Smooches
I felt it. It felt pretty strong. I wasn't here for the Northridge one. I'm about 25 miles south of LA and it seemed stronger than all the other ones I've felt.
felt it as i was sitting in class
Hugs to you in LA.
I'm thinking good thoughts for you all.
You may be all sex addicted junkies with a liberal agenda, but America is better with you than without.
You'll get used to them…we all do.
Re: Quake – who'dya hear that from??? Nostradamus?? LOL someone is ALWAYS saying "We're about to get "the BIG ONE!!!" Usually hear that right after a pretty good quake. Trust me on this…we're not about to get "The Big One"
Hey queenfaced Frankenberry…. "That was our first earthquake we've experienced in California. " SHOULD BE:
That was MY first earthquake I'VE experienced…"
What an arrogant queen. Who the fuck do you think you are?
"That was our first earthquake we've experienced in California."
Oh for fuck sake Perez!! Would you stop with the "we" and "us" shit! Fuck! Who do you think you are? Louil XVI? ENOUGH!!
Re: lena – Yeah…that's right we're "STUPIT"…BTW…what the eff are you talking about???
I felt that thing in Huntington Beach CA! It was certainly a jolter. Hope everyone is safe
WE FELT IT ALL THE WAY IN SAN DIEGO!!!
wikipedia says that earthquakes larger than 5.6 (this was apparently 5.8..right Perez?) only occur every 100 years!!!! Soo basically you guys are okay from falling off into the ocean for a while…at least 100 years!
being a socal girl born and raised it does not shock me any more. although that one was pretty bigggg.
It was like being on a boat.
Ding dong dang! i was in Downtown LA and it was freaking scary! big towering buildings swaying and shacking. i give props to the construction workers in our AON building and the surrounding ones!
Shook Torrance like a mofo
well i was at sams club in sylmar, and me or nobody there felt a thing.
very strange.
well i was at sams club in sylmar, and me or nobody there felt a thing.

well i was at sams club in sylmar, and me or nobody there felt a thing.
very strange.
I live all the way in san diego by Jamul and El Cajon and I felt it!!
Thank the gods and goddesses we don't get earthquakes in Philly.
The epicenter was Chino Hills, which is a different city from Chino.
it was actually 5.4
We are about 7 miles from where it started and boy it was strong, some of the building around us sustained some visible outside damage there are several news helicopters here filming the damages.
omg i live on long island but my cousin lives in L.A and she called b4 to tell us she was soo scared bc it was her first one too! but good thing everyone is alright and it wasn;t that bad!
Why is everyone so scared? Jeez, people. It was just an earthquake. I've been through them my whole life. Get over it.
its chino hills…chino is in nor cal… get it rite hilton
5.8 in CHINO it was tiny here in hollywood.
try being around the epicenter of the northridge quake in 94-then we'll talk about big.
if that was yer first then you're a tranny (transplant) fresh of the boat!
You Pussies! It was a small shaker, MOVE your ass's to Arizona or Nevada before we here in LA get a real quake, we don't need your freaking out during an actual disaster. WHAT A BUNCH OF FOOLS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Wrong! The earthquake happened in the city of CHINO HILLS.. not Chino. Chino and Chino Hills are two different cities.
uhhh not that scary. 5.6 or whatever is not THAT big.
