Did You Feel That???

earthquake.jpg

OMG!

An earthquake just hit us in Los Angeles before noon Pacific time!

Thankfully, it doesn't seem like it was HUGE, but it was pretty damn big.

That was our first earthquake we've experienced in California.

And it was scary!

Update: It was a 5.8. The epicenter was in Chino.

That's big!

We had a 6.3 here in Tokyo about a week ago and no one even bothered to report it on the news. I turned over and went back to sleep. Happens all the time.

"That was our first earthquake we've experienced in California." is there something wrong with you Perez? Or did you mean the 1st earthquake California has gotten this YEAR? Cause unless San Fransisco isn't in California, there was a very large earthquake there in 1989. My parents were supposed to be in a hotel in SF when it happened, my mom 5 months pregnant with me. Their flights got canceled way before, though, so they went to Montreal instead. If they hadn't, I would be dead right now. So you're wrong Perez.

  5. Naomi says – reply to this

    405

correction, I wouldn't have even been born…and that's cause the hotel they were going to stay at completely collapsed…

It wasn't THAT big. Everyone is being sooo dramatic. It wasn't even that long 10-20 seconds tops. I also like how everyone ran outside. That is not what you're supposed to do. What a bunch of jackasses!

lovelightandinsight.com! She said it would be less than a 6.0 but big enough to do something like like a 5.3…she was almost dead on…freaky….has anyone else gotten readings from her?

I was at the dog park and didn't feel anything. My dog did get hiccups tho.

  12. debst says – reply to this

    412

you idiot………before posting your info, get your facts right…..it was a 5.4 according to the official report on the REAL news station and the epacenter was Chino Hills, you woosey get a grip that was nothing compared to the Northridge eartgquake in 94, but that's California living for ya, but hey even if yoy are born and raised here, like I was, it's still not something anyone gets used to. and no it was not long or violent i'm studio city and like I said before that was nothing compared to Northridge, now taht one kept going and going and going, and what distruction it left behind, remember 57 were killed when their apt building collapsed on them while woken up by the quake now thats huge!

i was in the shower, thought my boo was knocking continually to get in with me, opened the door annoyed of all the "knocking" and stepped out a bit, only to experiene my first quakerrr. naked, alone in the house(my boy was actually outside on the phone). screaming.

first times are always too julty, uncomfortably nude and vulnerable… uhk.

  16. Artur says – reply to this

    416

Clearly you don't know what a strong earthquake is — try going through the Northridge quake. This was more fun than I expected, although still a bit scary ’cause I almost thought the Big One was about to happen. It was my first time feeling this in an 18-story high-rise. Felt so trippy the way the building swayed.

I live 5 min N of downtown SD and I didn't feel it at all. My Mom lives in Riverside, Ca and when I called to see if she felt it she thought I was joking! She didn't feel it either and she lives 25 min from Chino. Born and raised in Ca, quakes are very natural to me. I just think people should calm down and relax be happy it wasn't a repeat of the Northridge quake.

    419

Get a life Perez. I lived in SoCal for 21 years before I moved up to Oregon. That was your first experience being in an earthquake??? You're in freaking California moron. Cal has earthquakes all the time. Hello San Andreas fault. You are such a moron. You need to get out more. I've probably felt over 15 earthquakes in my lifetime. You get used to it after a while. Oh and do er need a diagram of the epicenter of the earthquake. You are an idiot!!! Everyone knows what an earthquake is. I do hope that everyone is okay

and the earthquake wasn't bad at all. Nothing in the house fell and none of the water in our pool even splashed out… haha. We've had worse ones people.

Chino Hills is a different city now….
But back in the day Chino Hills was part of Chino.
But the residents up there didn't want to be associated with Chino so they separated… That's why there's always competition between the two cities. Like that new little shopping center they just built, when the chino spectrum was made Chino Hills was mad cause all there residents were going to go there and spend their money, that spectrum was actually supposed to be a mall but chino hills threw a fit and they reduced it to little shopping centers. But the one Chino Hills built is closer to a mall:/ but they do compliment each other because whatever store one doesn't have the other one does.

Perez, You are not only a narcisitic a-hole but you're also a p-tard.

  52. akd says – reply to this

    452

obviously Perez isn't from California and that explains why it's the first he has experienced, he isn't saying it's the first earthquake ever California has had. Also when he says "our" I'm sure he's not pertaining to everyone in So Cal, I think he's talking about Teddy and him. So lay off him, and stop calling Perez stupid for his grammar in this post. I didn't know he had to go into specifics and maybe it's all those that can not figure out who he is talking about that are stupid. But Perez you do tend to make a lot of grammatical errors in your posts.

Too bad it was not the BIG ONE ! I cannot wait till the BIG ONE sinks California and all it piece of shit liberals and overpaid, undereducated celebrities go bye bye !

That will be a great day. Sad for the loss of life, but glad you dumbasses are gone. Then perhpas we can go back to old time and truly have a system of government the way it was intended. Not run by gay loving liberals. I dont hate gays…I just hate the gays that cannot take civil unions and have to mess with marriage. Take the benefits of marriage, but call it something else. You only ruin it for the rest of us.

    MAN AND WOMAN = Marriage
GAY AND GAY = Civil Unions ( with marriage perks )

Leave marriage alone…its a religious vow assholes.

Thank goodness yours was not a disaster. I'm Peruvian and last year, on August 15th, I experienced one of the scariest experiences in my whole life. On that day a major earthquake struck Lima and other cities from the Peruvian coast. It lasted more than 2 minutes, and it was a fckng 7.9. And we had huuuuuge aftershocks, with 5.0, 5.4 and even 6.0… It's one of the most horrible sensations ever! Almost three weeks of that sh*t… So, try to stay calm on these cases and don't use elevators for God's sakes!
