It's Brett, Bitch

He wants to give you NFL fans more, more, more!
League bosses have confirmed that Brett Favre has sent his reinstatement paperwork to the NFL and is awaiting approval from commissioner Roger Goodell.
According to reports, once Favre is granted reinstatement the, Packers would have 24 hours to release the quarterback or return him to their active roster.
If Goodell reinstates Favre today, Wednesday, his return to the practice field for the Cheeseheads would most likely come Friday.
Green Bay coach Mike McCarthy said on Tuesday, "It's obviously the first step in Brett coming back, but we'll deal with that when Brett is reinstated and have a plan for that when he comes back."
The source goes on to report that the team has no plans to grant Favre the release he has requested, suspecting that he would immediately sign with division rival Minnesota. The Packers own Favre's rights until his contract expires after the 2010 season, making a trade the most likely outcome acceptable to both Favre and the Packers.
Sign with a rival?
Scandalous!
What say you Cheeseheads?
Maybe Brett's just doing this for the money?????
His peak playing days are definitely behind him!

The cheeseheads would be pissed!! I am one of them, not a cheesehead but a devoted packer fan, and I like in wisconsin. I think if you are as good as he is, the packers should take him, especially after last year.
to set the record straight …. living in WI for my whole life i grew up a Brett fan and will remain a Brett fan till the end. He doesnt need the money … he has in the past lowered his own salary so the Packers could sign better players. His best season EVER was last season so what makes you think he is worn out and should retire? he retired only because the packers forced him into making a decision right then and there. So he wants to come back … well I think if the Pack doesnt want him as a first string QB then RELEASE him. he doesnt deserve to play back up and Aaron Rodgers deserves his chance this season so start as he has been sitting behind Favre long enough. So if it comes down to me wearing a purple/gold Favre jersey … so be it! GO FAVRE! YOU ARE A FUCKING LEGEND!!!!
WHY Perez- I moved to the Green Bay area from San Diego last fall and your site is my only escape, until now… from crazy Packer obsession, news and endless conversations about Brett Favre. Please only sports talk if it's about anyone other than a Brett Favre.
BRING BRETT BACK!
FUCK OFF BRETT FAV-RA. We supported you when you left and now you are a traitor!
GIVE IT UP!
Brett is a great quarterback, no doubt. When he retired, we all moved on here (in Green Bay) as soon as the boys finished crying in school (we watched his retirement speech in class). it's like he broke up with us and saw our new, younger, maybe hotter boyfriend (Aaron Rodgers), he got jealous and wanted to get back together. We've moved on Brett, and we know about the shit you did behind the organization's back. Best of luck at a suck team
from Wisconsin- Dumb Ass Michael Jordan wanabe will make a great back-up quarterback.
None of you people are even from Wisconsin so you have no clue what you're even talking about. If you knew anything about Brett Favre he isn't in it for the money. Also, Perez, his peak playing days are obviously not over if you paid any attention to last season, it was his best season of all time. Stick to reporting on crappy celebrities not legendary football players.
Us Cheeseheads say - go go go. Preferably to a team that sucks - like the Bears. Yeah, he had his best season last year, but remember 2005 when he sucked royally. We're all sick of his constant hemming and hawing. Be gone already. I don't even care if Aaron Rogers sucks. Another team can try to deal with his prima donna attitude and design an offense that caters to his haphazard ways. The only reason he was good last year was because the coach reeled him in and kept him under his thumb - plus he had an amazing supporting cast. See if some other team and coach can do that. Let him go I say - and stay the hell away from Green Bay.
As someone who lives in GB, I have personally seen how the city has canonized both him and his family. The entire city revolves around the Packers and Brett is the hero. It is an utter disgrace and slap in the face the way he has been treating the entire town after everything they have down for him. His behavior is truly disgusting.
hey sarah with the palm tree: if your going to call someone a moron, spell it right douche
"His peak playing days are definitely behind him!"
Good one but he had his best statistical year ever in 2007….stick to Hollywood news and let ESPN handle sports.
I don't think it's about the money at all. Being a football player is who he is and he probably just feels lost without it. Everyone was preassuring him last year to retire saying he should go out on top so I think that's why he ultimately made the decision at the end of the season. The Packers should bring him back! If not, then oh well, just let the man play!!!!! And wasn't last year one of his best seasons ever?!? So why not come back?!? FAVREEEE!!!!
w00t Minnesota bitches! We need a star quarterback, give him to us! Then our evil plan to overthrow the NFL will be complete…WAHhahahahhahaha *stroking evil-looking cat*
Perez, you don't know anything about Brett,… best years behind him. He is amazing and his record shows such. The Packers are butthurt he left, but he needs to suck it up and deal as well.
Perez, you are a f*g, he was a game shy of the super bowl last year. Stick to the nip slips, stay off the sports and politics.
I live in Green Bay and let me just tell you what the scoop is here. Packer Backers (yes, they actually call themselves that. I am not from here originally, and I find it embarassing that the whole city revolves around this actually) are mad at Brett for what he's doing with the Vikings, and they are losing respect. They are also mad at the team for not letting him come back.
The problem is this: Favre has always done exactly what he wanted to do on the field. Forget the plays called, forget the coach, he did what he wanted to do. In that last game, you saw him throw the pass to Donald Driver and you could see that was not the call given by the coach. It didn't work out. So now the mgmt team is sticking it to Favre to make sure he gets in line. He will be back and I think it will be one of his last seasons.
quite honestly brett no one cares what the hell you do. all this bullshit about retiring and coming back and scandals is getting really old, he just needs to make up his freaking mind.
I'd kill myself if favre signed on with the Vikings.
GO VIKINGS!!!!
ummm perez do gay people watch football or what?…Brett had an incredible season last year he can still play quite well, learn about what your gonna say before you say it or you look fuckin retarded
why would his peak playing days be over? he was one throw away from the superbowl last year - helloooo
OK…so I'm from Wisconsin, and this state treats this man like he's a god…to go out on national television and have such a dramatic, snotty nose, tearful goodbye that he knew wasn't neccessary. True Packer fans had their hearts literally broken when he finally decided to retire…he looks like a true jackass now that he's trying to come back…just my opinion
PLEASE DONT DO SPORTS YOU FLABBY WHALE!!
PLEASE DONT DO SPORTS YOU FLABBY WHALE!!PLEASE DONT DO SPORTS FLABBY WHALE!!PLEASE DONT DO SPORTS YOU FLABBY WHALE!!PLEASE FLABBY WHALE!!PLEASE DONT DO SPORTS YOU FLABBY WHALE!!PLEASE DONT DO SPORTS YOU FLABBY WHALE!!PLEASE DONT DO SPORTS YOU FLABBY WHALE!!PLEASE DONT DO SPORTS YOU FLABBY WHALE!!PLEASE FLABBY WHALE!!
I am a Packer fan, and I am truly disappointed in this whole fiasco. I think the Packers are right in sticking with Rodgers as the starter, they committed to that when Brett retired and to take it away just because Brett decided to come back would just be wrong. He is ruining his legacy with all this drama. I am disappointed he doesnt feel welcomed in Wisconsin. I feel he should be the back up, who knows what will happen during the season and he could become the starter. I am just disappointed in this whole thing. I definately have different feelings about him now. I know he's not doing this for the money, but are there records out there to be broken? If he does get traded no one will remember him as a member of that team, he will always be remembered as a Packer, however I think he is going to lose alot of fans. I wish this whole thing would just go away!
Re: UKer –
Fuck you and worry about your own gay ass sports in the UK. Nobody fucking cares about the gay shit in England!! Idiot!!
I have lost all respect for this guy. I sat and watched his "final" news conference. He was crying and shit, I actually got a little teary eyed myself. Now he goes and pulls this crap…how annoying and unprofessional. Retire already Brett, your ego is large enough and so is your wallet ! He should have asked to be traded a long time ago if that's what he really wanted. Don't fucking lie to your fans!
For the record I don't know alot about football…but I do know I don't like Brett Farve!Fuckin' retire already OLD MAN!Why the hell would you retire twice and come back?For all of his fans…aren't you sick of him retiring,then you buy all this Farve and Packer shit only for his dumbass to come back.LAME!I guess I just don't understand why people in any profession do that.If it's what you love to do then why retire?Get a life!
Not true Perez! Last season was definitely Brett's best season in many years! Who's to say that this coming season won't be better?
you all suck favre's the shit and a LEGEND how are they not welcoming him back with open arms??? he could take them to the super bowl and WIN this year….FAVRE FOR LIFE
His peak playing days are behind him? Perez,do you even watch football? He broke two "unbreakable" records last season and lead the Packers to the NFC Championship game. He just might lead the Vikings, Bucs, or the Jets to a Superbowl win next season. Even at 38 he's far too valueable to sit on the bench holding a clipboard.
Oh Please. Brett is the best. Have you any idea the number of endorsements he has. He doesn't need the money. I guarantee it! It's about playing football. And maybe his best days are behind him, but his worst days are better than most players best!
He was at the top of his game last season. But the idea that he could even THINK of signing with Minnesota makes me sick. How could he turn his back on the team and the state that loves him?
And what the hell do you know about football? Last season was one of his best yet. How about do some research before you blindly comment on someone's career. Oh wait that's how you make your living.
Frankly, once you're gone then you have no business going back. That's what I think anyway.

I grew up slow of green bay…been a die hard packers fan my whole life, along with idolizing Favre…if he goes to the VikQUEENS. I will seriously run straight to my closet and burn his jersey..
All you ignorant bitches talkin shit about gay people(n no I'm not gay)and calling Perez fat n a whale n all your other dumbass comments…you talkin shit about him not knowing about sports,then your giving your dumb football facts!If you READ the article he's mostly writing about what other sources have to say about Farve's bitchass!And if you don't like Perez Hilton then,GET THE FUCK OFF HIS WEBSITE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:)
his peak playing years are behind him? you're a disgrace to all gays. well, actually, you're a disgrace too all people.
tata
Re: YeAh_I_sAiD_iT! – lol, u really have no clue do ya? Try taking a pounding from 250 plus pound men for 16 weeks plus practice 5 days a week for 25 years (incl back to HS). He retired b/c at the end of the season he felt worn out and beat up. He got his rest and felt like he could do it again. You would know this if you have ever played an intense sport.
Don't speak of what you don't know.
perez..ur a blogger. not a frackin sports person. farve had one of his best seasons last year. hopefully when all the mess is done and over with, he will be a viking.
I live in Minnesota and I love Favre! It would be a dream come true if he played for the vikings!
He should have never retired in the first place, but Green Bay is being horrible to him! I wish that they would let him go wherever he wanted to go! He spent his entire career with them and is the reason they are the huge franchise that they are. The least they can do is release him.
Aaron Rogers will cave in under all this pressure ….. all the Packers can look forward to with him as QB is the Toilet Bowl, not the Superbowl …. and Brett Favre is cutting off his nose to spite his face - he and Ted Thompson are in this big media pissing match, and both of them want to be "right" so each day is just one more episode of "All the Favres of our Lives". How cool would it be if Favre came back wearing a Packer baseball cap, pushing a pencil with a clipboard in hand on the sidelines, while Rogers either gets hurt/screws up and Thompson and McCarthy have to put him in. Of course that won't happen, because Brett Favre isn't capable of eating that much humble pie. Thompson says he wants to do the right thing for the team and the fans, but betting the rent on Rogers isn't one of them!
Brett is a traitor to the Packers and to the state of Wisconsin. He had his chance to stay with the Pack but after much hoing and humming he decided to retire. They waited around for him but once it sunk that he had retired, they needed to move on. The already have a new QB on the starting roster - they can't go back now. I hand it to the team for sticking to their principals.
Brett - you've broken our hearts. Shame on you.
I think I speak for a lot of us here in Green Bay when I say Favre has become an embarrassment here because of all this bullshit. Just freakin' stay retired like you've been whining about for the last few years. We're sick of this.
~~~~I'M FROM WISCONSIN AND HAVE BEEN A HUGE FAVRE FAN FOREVER. BUT I AM SO EMBARASSED BY HIS BEHAVIOR AND THINK HE IS TARNISHING HIS LEGACY. HIS FANS HAVE BEEN SO LOYAL TO HIM AND NOW HE'S JUST LOOKING LIKE AN IDIOT~~~~
Brett's peak playing days may be over, but he is still one of the top five quarterback's in the US (if not the best). I think the Packer's are trying to do what is best for the team in the long run, which would be to give Aaron Rogers some on field experience. However, that could easily be done by allowing Rogers playing time under Brett (as starting QB). Brett is a better QB and should be allowed to play. I think (and hope) the Packers will reinstate him.
I AM A WISCONSINITE AND I WOULD BE SOOOO PISSED IF HE WENT TO MINNESOTA OMGGG!!!!!!!!!!
Who? I thought I was clicking to see Brett Michaels' latest ho news. So sad now
"his peak is behind him" WTF The just a had record breaking year and took his team to the championship game!! Dumb ass
Don't be so fast to say that his peak playing days are behind him when he led my Packers to a second place NFC finish last season.
As a born and bred Cheesehead, I was immensely depressed when Brett retired in March, but knew it was for the best, if only for his family more than him. I had made my peace with the fact that I was going to be watching him ride off into the sunset at his zenith. Coming back to the NFL, though, is not relieving- it's embarrassing. Mike McCarthy and the Packers have been ready to go with Aaron Rodgers since March, and I think it's a smart move. When Brett got benched earlier this year in the Dallas game and Aaron played in his place, he was really able to show his stuff. I was very impressed, and I know others were too. I really don't think that it's realistic to expect Brett to come back and play for the Packers this season.
I hope Brett gets traded to a team that he and the Packers both agree on. I wish Brett all the best in the future with whoever he ends up with, and I hope the remainder of his career is as successful as the past seventeen seasons with the Packers were. I just know that if he comes back to Green Bay, a lot of people around here will be more than slightly aggravated.
i live in wisconsin and if i had to choose a football time i liked the most it would be the packers. i have watched farve for many years and enjoyed seeing him play, however, i think coming back now would be a bad choice on his part. he went out with a great season and he should keep it that way. this is all an act for publicity.
yay!!!!!!!!
DDD im so happy!
Very few professional athletes play as hard as Brett Favre does. He gives football 100% and will always be revered by us Packer fans. It's time to yank Rodgers and put Brett Favre where he belongs; as the starting quarterback for America's greatest team, the Green Bay packers!
He's a (sorry to be vulgar) famewhore, that's all. And I'm FROM Wisconsin! I have never been a fan of him, even at his peak. I hate quarterbacks who think it's all about them - without their offensive lines to hold back a defense whose only goal is to crush the quarterback, they're nothing! And for Brett, it's always been about HIM. So, anyway, that's my 2 cents - I wish he'd just go away.
Being a Packer fan from Wisconsin I feel like when he retired we all mourned him and eventually came to accept that he will never be "our guy" again. We have started to think of Rogers as our new quarter back and have already started rooting for him. I feel betrayed by Brett now for wanting to come back and expecting everyone to just put Rogers on the back burner. Sure, Brett is a great quarterback but I mourned him and am ready to move on. If he were to go to the Vikings he better up his security because he will surely be lynched by the "cheeseheads".
actually, this past season had a number of career highs for him… perez you shouldnt comment on sports.
We hate the egotistical motherfucker down here in So. Miss,, send his ass back to green bay and let him freeze his ass off.
Brett faxed his reinstatement letter to the NFL, but apparently it was intercepted…
What an over rated slug. Only won a super bowl because of Desmond Howard.
The post had been going along fine until you had to put in your 2 cents about doing it for the money (marquee player for over 15 years… money is a non issue)…. and about his best playing days being behind him… which if you had any grasp of the statistical side of the game would strike even you as an uneducated attempt at discrediting the fact that he had his best season by far last season… including breaking records and producing far beyond anything he has before… just because he didn't win a ring doesn't mean he didn't have an amazing season. Stick to what you know man.
He should go to the Bears!
As a Packer fan and ex-Wisconsinite, I was disappointed to see him go. Now, he is just being a whiny ass. Let him go - he has pulled this crap for 4 years, and now is throwing a tantrum to get re-instated after the Packers have moved on and found his replacement. I would be disappointed to see him play for another team, but the way he is acting, good riddance.
you fags have no business discussing a real mans man like brett favre on a gaycentric turdburglaring rodsmuggling website like this here
I have been a lifetime Green Bay Packer Fan, and all I can say is, Fuck Brett Favre. He retired; the Packers had to move forward with the team. He can't possibly expect the powers that be to bend over backwards for him, so he can retire yet again? He's been flip-flopping for a couple of years now. Show up to training camp, do your job, and shut up, you whiner.
He's smokin hot!!! Just look at him when he smiles!! Wooo Weee!!!
Plus he's a great player. Perez shut up about what u don't know about. BTW I'm a Cowboys fan. Go Cowboys!
brett's best season in the past seven years was last year his best days are behind him. For all we know his best days may be in front of him.
im so sick of this brett favre bs……retire already and do it as a packer….they wont take you back…..you already gave your heartfelt retirement speech and now you look like an idiot…..oh and the packers suck….the cowboys whoop your ass ever year
Bret loves the game, it's all he has ever known. Money?? He has plenty and would probably play for free.
the way he did this was stupid, but i still love brett, and have been a cheesehead since i was old enough to understand football. for him to play somewhere else would be blasphamous, and he's still got a few good years ahead of him. look at the season he had this past year. he can't play for someone else.
FARVE MORE YEARS!!!!!! brett is amazing and the packers need to let him come back as starting quarterback. he does NOT need the money! favre is the best quarterback tp grace the fields of the nfl!!!!!!
Let's see, Wisconsin is known for:
1. Jeffrey Dahmer
2. Joseph McCarthy
3. Brett Favre
HELLS YEAH WE NEED BRETT BACK. He's all we have, man.
anyone who talks negatively about favre is just jealous that favre trumps the qb from their team.
I think that Brett's coming back for the love of football BUT if he was to become a vike I'm not sure what Packers fans would do.. Lambeau would be a war field on the day that the two teams meet!
up here in wisconsin…he's like a worshipped god. I say, be down, brett! get that money!
sorry perez, but you're a little bit out of touch with football if you think that his days are behind him. favre had the best season of his life last year and was asked immediately at the end of the season whether or not he wanted to come back. at that time he didn't want to go through with all of the practice and training associated with coming back so he said no. once more time went by, he decided that his love for the game was too great, and now he wants to come back. i usually agree with a lot of what you write, but i think that you're wrong on this one. he's got more money than he could ever need and he is still one of the best (probably top 4 or 5) quarterbacks in the league — and one of the best of all time.
sincerely,
a loyal perez reader, but a more-loyal cheesehead,
richard
It's not about the money.
Farve has the most soul any ball player could possibly have.
He loves the game. Not the money.
AND THIS CHEESEHEAD LOVES BRETT!
wtf? his peak playing days are behind him he had a monster season in 07-08 definitly not bout the money he's played 15 yrs and is on the madden 09 cover he jus loves football and wants to keep playing give him a break
brett had one of his best seasons last year, brett isnt comming back for money, because he has enough endorsements to last him, brett favre is comming back to play football? whys that so hard to understand? let the legend do whatever the hell he wants to. only chuck norris, brett favre, and tom brady will live forever
I'll watch Brett where ever he plays. Come to Florida!!!!!!!!
I don't even care, he's still pretty effin hot!
I don't think he's a jack off for doing this. I think he's done this most of his life and doesn't know what else to do with his time. I think he wants to proove to himself that he can still do it.
(*Siiiiiiiiiigh*)
I just don`t know what to think about this anymore.
You sure can`t keep someone from doing what they love,
and let`s face it: here in WI, Brett is our hero, so i`m sure that
it would be great to see him back…
But the thing is, he`s already said his fond goodbyes to the Packers
and the fans. He`s ended his story, and handed the reigns over
to someone else, so why ruin what you`ve been building for over a decade
over such an ugly media battle?
It`s not good for anybody, if you ask me, and I think it`s about time to give the new guy a chance to shine, don`t you think?
As a MN girl I would love to see him come to the Vikings…that would be like him giving the whole state of WI the middle finger!
I love the Pack and have enjoyed watching Brett mature on and off the field. I thought it was over and Brett would play for someone else this year. A comment made here reminded me that Brett has played every year without holding out for a diva contract. That is reason enough for the packers to be inconvenienced by Brett's slow retirement decisions each year. Sign Him and let him "earn" the starting QB position, or the packers management are idiots!!
I was sad when he retired but this is rediculous. Once you retire don't come back. he's being a dick.
Brett doesn't need the money. He's doing it because he's bored and thats what he does, he plays football
Brett is history!! I highly doubt he is doin this for the money, for crying out loud he is livin on a ranch not some mansion….He plays the game well and thats wat he knows how to do! The Packers would be CRAZY not to keep him!!!
I live in Wisconsin, unfortunately, and I really wish Brett would have remained retired. They're not going to do much with him this season, should he stay with the Packers, and if he does go to another team it's only going to tarnish his legacy. Bad move coming back, Brett. GO BEARS!!!
Maybe he's doing it for the money? HA! It's ALWAYS about the money!
His peaked playing days are over?! are you kidding Perez?! have you EVER seen him play? esp. last season?! he rocked it and had one of his best seasons ever and almost made it to the superbowl! if you think that means his days are over you're crazy and ob. havent watched him play! he's the best and always will be! now if the fucken packers wont so dumb and were sticking w/ a qb who has only played a few nfl games and has gotten hurt each time (granted once was in practice) they are crazy! if you want to win brett is their best chance! idiots!!!!!
You don't know shit about football. Brett is a great player who can still play the game. The closest you come to knowing shit about football is sniffing some player's dirty jockstrap. Stick to talking about the girly shit that you know about best.
Long live the Packers and the Legend of Lambeau…where the NFL all got started!
We still love Brett too, wherever he ends up.
He needs to stay retired! He has pulled this same crap every year. Now other atheletes are doing it to… AKA: Manny!
He should just be done. Maybe we over the boarder don't want him. I can't imagine him getting any kind of love in the Metrodome. We have been booing him for like the last 20 years. Bad move Brett!
WELCOME BACK BRETT!! PEACE OUT TED!
green bay loves brett
Just an update for you. Brett turned down money to stay away from Green Bay's training camp…of course if he took it, everyone would say he did all this for the money, and they would be right. We love everything he accomplished in Green Bay, and its a damn shame to see him tarnish that legacy this way. There is no chance he will be traded for a division rival, if he gets traded at all, it will be probably to Tampa Bay or New York, according to the press here in Green Bay. When all is said and done, Brett should keep his ass at home, play golf, live off his money, and work on his charities.
Re: atl_p – what are you smoking, and can I have some? Bush and Cheney? OMFG lmao
Re: jess – Jess, I love what Brett did for Green Bay too, I lived my whole life here. Did you consider the fact that this man is 38, and all it takes is one hard hit that could possibly injure him for life, or kill him? This is football, not basketball. How many players in the NFL have been permanently paralyzed after a hard hit, and all of them much younger than him. His ego is getting in the way of what is really important. His family, his health and the legacy he had before he started fucking it up, and like I said, we all put this man on a pedestal for many years. It's time to step down, and let Rogers have his chance…..without Don Mickowski's injury, Brett, never would have gotten his chance when he did. Rodgers is the man I feel sorry for, too many fanatics won't give the guy a fair chance. Brett should have thought about all this. He has more cash than most of us will ever see in our lifetimes, and he is willing to risk his health for the big comeback? My respect for him is gone.
