The Disney star covered Breakout, a song Perry recorded years ago, for her new album, and Miley even chose that as the title of her record.

Katy is the better artist overall
but Miley did the song better.
I'm not really a fan of either version but if I had to pick one, I'd pick Perry's version. It just sucks that Miley is a bigger star than Perry and people will really only know it as a Miley Cyrus song :/ Shame!

I love Katys voice but it doesnt suit her age miley is the one that should be the one singing out about how shes stuck in school not Katy…. But Katy takes my vote on voice

Miley did the song better and it speaks something that she has 40% compared to Perrys 60. Obviously Mileys haters dont give a fuck about either and voted for Perry because they dont like miley. So for Katy to have only a 20% lead over Miley means that probably MOST of the people who listened to the songs liked Mileys and not Perrys. So fuck off Katy because you suck. Help your boyfriend get off smack ( and by the way how's his detox going? ).
If Katy Perry wrote the song Breakout, then why is Miley going around telling everyone she wrote all the songs on her record, but two? The two everyone thought were "These Four Walls" and "Girls Just Wanna Have Fun." But obvs. she's been lying…

i personally like them both. katy's voice is great and so is miley's. to me it's a tie. overall, i like miley better though…KP is awesome too, it's just I dont know…im all for disney and KP is just kind of frustrating. "I kissed a girl" has become mucho annoying and everytime I hear it I change the station. but that has nothing to do with who's version is better. So like i said, they're a tie because they sound the same. MC is higher pitched and has her accent on it. KP has the rocker, more grown up voice. they're both good.

Personally, I kind of like both versions of the song, but when it comes to who did it better, I'll just say I believe Katy Perry more than I do Miley Cyrus. I think that Miley's fans are going to eat it up and love it, but if Katy'd released it, I think it would've been a huge hit!
