The Disney star covered Breakout, a song Perry recorded years ago, for her new album, and Miley even chose that as the title of her record.

Well the poll is irrelevant. We all know that Miley cyrus is a dumbass bitch who steals other peoples material. Atleast katy Perry owns her style, unlike Miley who bites off everyone else and then hates on them. Fuck that Bitch! Go Perry!

You don't have to like Miley Cyrus but before you post stuff you should get your information right. Breakout was never Katy Perry's song and it was never written for her. It was written for Miley Cyrus last year and Katy Perry was just brought in to do the demo. Why would Katy Perry a girl in her 20's sing about high school anyway? And why would she even mention a lesbian kiss with a 15 year old. Come on grow up. Everyone needs to grow up.

I have no idea why people enjoy Katy Perry's music. I do not and will not ever support her or her music. Although Miley's voice isn't the best, she is much better than Katy Perry as a singer and person.

Katy is a seasoned, mature, musician…… hearing her talk about getting up in the morning for school sounds ridiculous, Mylie on the other hand is a mere child so the song definately suits Mylie and sounds more believable when she sings it. Katy has been in the business for longer than anybody realizes, and I for one am glad that she has finally arrived at super stardom.

katy perry didn't write the song, and she didn't release an album until this year. she recorded this as a demo while she was a backup singer… a demo the songwriter used to send to other artists… miley isn't a thief, her handlers wouldn't let that fly.

“Breakout” was not written for Katy Perry and was never given to her. She was brought in to sing on the demo. At the time she hadn't become an artist and had no record deal. That was a year and a half ago. After the demo was made, the song was sent to Miley Cyrus' A&R guy at Hollywood records. They loved it, but it was too late to get it on her last record. AND Miley felt that it would be a great song for her next record as Miley Cyrus only, because it sort of represented to her the idea of breaking away from the Hannah character and showing herself (hence the album title "Breakout").
Katy Perry decided to post the demo version on Perez Hilton’s site so that she could try to embarrass Miley. Apparently she was getting back at Miley after Miley dissed her regarding the girl-kiss offer from Katy. Plain and simple, the song was meant for Miley from the time the demo was finished, and it was never Katy Perry's song. Katy was the demo singer. Besides, it is obvious that the song wasn't written for Katy who's in her mid 20s - the song is about someone in high school!
