'Elle' must have a plaid quota. WTF. Someone's head will roll for that. Or it's intentional as they figured it worked the first time. There are so many ways you could doll Jessica Simpson up without repeating yourself. Substandard, IMHO.
She looks MUCH better in 2004!!! More natural, her body…..she looks beautiful then! Now it is all fake and photoshopped!

wow i think this is honesty Elle magazine's mistake. Not Jessica's. I mean, sure she hasn't got much going on right now… but at least she is not a crack head or worse.
I'm not all that much of a fan of Jessica, but I must say the 2004 Elle cover looks way better than the 2008 cover. You would think Elle would catch that she was wearing the same thing.

Hello!! The reason why it was the best selling issue of ELLE was because back thenn people wanted to read about jessica. That's not gonna sell now, especially not after seeing the almost identical cover side by side like this. No one cares about jessica in 2008.

The only reason she is in country music now is because she can't make it in pop music anymore. It's totally the mag's fault for putting her in the same thing four years apart. When the Jessica camp brings this to Elle that they let her take a cover shoot in the same top(thanks to photo editing, it looks darker now), and when Elle finds who in what dept. make this blunder for the mag, that person is fired. GEESCH!! Gas prices ,election, war(anybody remember that we are in a war), putting the same clothes on your cover mag is not a big deal ,but in that world of fashion , fashion mags sales ,etc., it does.

I TOTALLY remember that cover in 2004. She looked amazing in the spread. Haven't scene the new one yet. How come they didn't catch it? She looks country which is what they were focused on.
They are similar, but not exactly the same. If Elle sold a lot of copies in 2004 they probably want a "remake" in the sense of the word. And remember, celebrities are clothed for photo shoots; very rarely do they choose their own clothes.
