Governator Orders Pay Cuts and Layoffs

Lots of folks over in the Golden State are very very pissed off at the Governator!
California governor Arnold Schwarzenegger says that 10,000 layoffs and 200,000 pay cuts are necessary because of the state's dire financial straits.
Other government officials claim that it's all politics. Duh.

This is not a post on lazy people, this is a post on Arnold showing he means business. cutting pay forces those lazy people with jobs to get California's budget done already which was due on 7/1! Don't blame people for working government positions. Blame government for being inefficient. That is why The System sucks and if another 9/11 happened who are we not supposed to hold responsible if not our government? That's why we have the CIA, FBI, Homeland security, shit we pay for all in the name of National Secuirty and well being so yes, let me see that the $ I spend on this shit is producing results. Otherwisemy taxes is going down a blackhole of negligent spending. When is it ok in your opinion to say enough is enough and hold politicans responsable for lying to the American people?

he cut schools which is so wrong and when you look at our National spending on school its sad to see only 2% of the budget set aside for education and still gets dipped into. Our children are ignorant cuz we don't equip schools with what they need to teach. I'm not a politician, I'm not sure I can do the job but I do know that we always prized education ever since the Puritans. What happened to that?

BTW, KevinK is right, some of this stuff is oversensationalized doom and gloom but it's good to see people being actively involved in politics and informing one another. Americans need to be more aware. It broke my heart after 9/11 to see people on TV asking why and what have we done. Our ignorance will be our own undoing.

If Cali did not have millions of illegals on their welfare they would not have this problem.
not paying taxes + section 8 housing + free medical assistance + crime ridden areas of the state requiring addition law informant resources + over loaded public schools that are under funded ( see above taxes) + free breakfast & lunch to children of illegals (again more resources being paid out to those who pay nothing in) tickets and fines being processed to fake IDs, the millions it costs legal citizens when their ID is stolen and used by an illegal that racks up multiple offences. It goes on and on and on.
And for you kids who say it only money ? It is the State & Federal Government that pays for it with your taxes. It's your future Social Security their spending, your Grand parents benefits have already been cut so far no one could live on the payout. So if you are working, look at your paycheck. The deduction that says Social Security….it is not your security you are paying for.

Stolen identities: that is a crime commited on a regular and not just by illegals. If they work outside of "house keeping and home child care" they do pay taxes on that $ You can't get section 8 W/O screening and approval therefore it's not the immigrants fault.
Stay out of Mexican affairs and we wouldn't have a Mexican immigration problem.
Industry jobs give them tax id's so they pay taxes on a paycheck.
This post is about US citizens losing their jobs. You can't get a governmet job if you're not US citizens.
Smoke and Mirrors, deal with each issue as it arises don't cause confusion and play the blame game. Illegals can't always be the scapegoats to California's lack of government responsability.

that is why they are called anchor babies and why you see so many 13 & 14 year old Mexican girls with babies. Have a baby in the u.s. (which the tax payers foot the medical bills for) immediately qualify for all welfare benefits (including section 8 housing) because THE BABY is a citizen. Have a new one every 2 years to keep the check coming too. And you don’t even have to use the food stamps to feed the kids because the schools do that, even in the summer.

I could have sworn Clinton did the welfare reform act, even if a illegal has a baby here they can STILL be deported. The child upon coming of age can come back to the states as a citizen.

Fluff, it's called a "cash economy". If you are paid in cash under the table, you don't need a tax ID number. The state government will then NEVER know you were paid…therefore you will NEVER pay taxes on that cash. Is it really that complicated?
I also noticed that you didn't address the other taxes I mentioned that most illegal immigrant do not pay. Nothing to say about it? Guess it's hard to argue with the facts.
Plus, you can blame the US for the problems of other countries if you want to, but why not hold the leaders of these other countries accountable for their own problems? Why is the US always the "bad guy"? If you hate the US so much, why are you here? (if you are). If not, good.

Ok, I do not agree with you. Your skimming over important details. So people bitching about competing with illegals for low income wages are lying? That is NOT a "cash economy". Those positions REQUIRE a TAX ID or big corporations wouldn't be able to PAY them. Fastfood Chains do NOT pay via cash. The money must be reflected on the company books. Like I said The positions of "cash economy" are mainly agriculture and homecare whether it housecleaning or nanny and agriculture is the most exploited. Corporate America is NOT going to pay the necessary salary to Americans when they can exploit illegals for a bigger profit.
As for us meddling with S. America, you can bury your head in the sand but the facts are WE DO MEDDLE ON TRADE AGREEMENTS! As for the other taxes you rattled off. How many illegals you know own a home? If you want to call them home owners , especially in expensive ass California where did they get $ for a down payment? THEY RENT LIKE MOST CALIFORNIANS so $ does go back into California's economy. Are illegals now responsable for the housing crisis?
Sending $ home IS NOT A SIN. ALL foreigners with family ties in their mother country do that! I send my grandma $ in Germany every month. If we did not create the deplorable conditions over there, illegals wouldn't be flooding our borders to find work in order to send $ home! As for Federal, state and medicaire taxes that $ is taken out of EVERYONE'S PAYCHECK so find a sucker to believe that. Social security they DO pay into social security! Seriously though Look at how many Americans that don'thave any form of Health Insurance. Look at our Vets coming home to rat invested VA hospitals. If Europe and Canada can have universal healthcare working with less $ than the US why can't we? These countries also have illegals and can still afford Universal Healthcare and FREE collegiate education for ALL. Here in the states you have to go into DEBT to get a higher education and get a degree which just gets you through the front door for an interview. If we resolved our education policies we wouldn't need to import intelligence like we do practically everything else.

Here are specifics for you then and I'm not picking a debate I'm just showing my point of view. Have you ever had the burning question why eat at you? WHen we went after Osama I was so happy I thought "get that SOB" when everything shifted it made no sense so I always had to ask WHY. Check out our "food for oil" program check out the IMF ( International Monetary Fund) policies we shaped and as a hegemon "enticed" our allies to comply to it's terms. The IMF ensures that 3rd world countries REMAIN precisely that.
Most importantly research our foreign policies and maybe you'll see why "they" hate us so much. I'm not trying to cange your opinions but I do want you what is responsable for shaping mine and when you read things that America has done to other countries, you would be ashamed of our government as well. It's only a matter of time before our civil liberties here will be curbed as well. Mark my words. 80% of the military believe that one day they will have to "police" our own citizens. Everything I have written is a sad disappointing fact. Re: Futil – I've seen a lot of B.S. on this post and obviously a lot of people don't understand or realize what is going on in California or the U.S. I am so glad you understood my posts because I have a lot to say about politics. Regardless of what political party we all are, our country is falling apart in its education. The rich can send their children to wonderful private schools but where does that leave the rest of the U.S.? No offense but George W. Bush got C's in college and he was raised with lots of money and probably some of the greatest educational opportunities. Money can buy a great education but not everyone does great things with those opportunities. Forgive me for blabbering on, but NOBODY understands what is happening with education, especially in California.

I'm a working college student living in California and my paychecks are being deducted with taxes that are not just benefiting other tax-paying citizens but also illegal immigrants. I am third generation here from Europe and my family earned their rights to be American citizens. I'm torn on this subject because my family had the opportunity to become U.S. citizens and so should other people, but our situation today has gotten out of control. I don't earn that much because I am a part time employee and full time student but I hate the fact that my taxes go towards illegal immigrants. On the other hand, there are many illegal immigrants that take the jobs that we don't want to do for the pay that is offered. Without many of the illegal immigrants, we wouldn't have some of the stuff we have today. It is a HARD subject but I appreciate your post and your view…BY THE WAY: those tax stimulus checks we got a few months ago… that was not free money! we're going to eventually have to pay that back (or our children, or grandchildren, etc.)! if you were smart with it, you put it in savings!
