HE DID IT!!!!!!!
Michael Phelps took home his EIGHTS gold medal at the Olympic Games in Beijing on Sunday.
Unbelievable!
He actually did it!
The U.S. Swimmer broke Mark Spitz's record of 7 gold medals, the most ever one at one Olympic Games.
This time, Michael shared the gold with his teammates - the U.S. won the 4×100m medley relay.
And, they did it in world-record time!!!
It's really amazing. History.
To be the best - EIGHT TIMES IN A ROW - it's awesome and awe-inspiring!

I WATCHED MARK SPITZ SWIM FOR 7 GOLD MEDALS.(SHOWS MY AGE). HE WAS AWESOME. I DON'T DOUBT THAT HAD HE HAD THE CHANCE TO SWIM FOR 8 GOLD HE WOULD HAVE MADE IT. BUT IT IS 36YRS LATER AND THE GAMES ARE DIFFERENT. MICHAEL PHELPS WAS AND IS GREAT, BUT I WILL ALWAYS REMEMBER MARK SPITZ AND THE HELL THAT WENT ON DURING THE 72 OLYMPICS. PHELPS RECORD SHOULD STAND FOR AT LEAST ANOTHER 36YRS AND HOPEFULLY BE BROKEN BY YET ANOTHER AMERICAN. GO USA!!!!!

I actually really respect all of them. I'm just saying that he deserves the spot light.
His team mates wouldn't even answer questions, they immediately would put Michael on the camera.
Soo…it would have been a much better post, Perez if you could have at least MENTIONED the names of those other three men that also WON A GOLD MEDAL during that relay!! They deserve some recognition too. Phelps is an amazing athlete, no doubt about it, but there are other athletes competing in these races, especially the final relay which gave Phelps his 8th medal! (It's not Phelps' fault that the media blows

who gives a fuck about Phelps! There are so many other American swimmers, i don't get it! Fuck Michael Phelps! This country has an obsession with things and people, like OBAMA, now PHELPS! HAHA
I hope that just because of all the hype surrounding Micheal Phelps that some young impressionable people don't decide to justify drunk driving because he has a past DUI!!! I hope they see it as a mistake Phelps made in 2004, and look at the punishment he received - serving 18 months probation, paid a $250 fine, had to speak to high school students about drunk driving and had to attend a MADD meeting. Drunking driving is a serious offence. People could be killed and families could be devastated. It should not be taken lightly, even if athletes and celebrities have done it before.

It doesnt fucking matter about what happened in the past. let the past be the past and keep it moving. Phelps did and clearly he cares more about swimming than his 18 month probation and DUI charges. He is a clean man.
just enjoy the fact the he has his career (i think) 17 golds and the US has 57 (might be more since this is a day late) and stop being a HATER!!!!
