Should we blame the Olympics for The Hills' dip in ratings?
When season 3 of the MTV show premiered it was up 40% from season 2's premiere.
But, according to the Hollywood Reporter, there was no such growth for the season 4 premiere on Monday night.
In fact, it was down 9% in its key 12-to-34 demo (2.1 million) and down 5% among total viewers (3.5 million) when compared to its one-hour debut last year.
Do you think the coming weeks without the Olympics will provide a better test?

I used to watch The Hills, but when you can find out the drama as it happens in real life, why bother watching the show? The show really never shows anything most of us don't already know. Hmmm, did Heidi and Spencer get back together on the show???? DUH, they are always together in public! The show's a waste of time, in my opinion.

I think everybody is tired of these no talent hochee's talking all the time so boring and not alive i hope they take the show off it sucks so bad. Why they dont do something better with there time like help others and so self centered people these are the one that makes the world a miserable place watching this garbage.
i watched both but the hills are sucking. because the cast members are stupid as fuck. and the speidi relationship is just for tv. and lauren and lo come on. mtv bought the house they are living in. the olympics are so much better than the show. and the cast members are freaking repbulicans. i am sick of all of them.

Has it ever occurred to anyone that the girls on the Hills have absolutely no sense of humor? When I compare these girls to others I know of their age, they seem stiff, bland, and humorless. Don't they ever have a good laugh over something? I would never want to hang out with them. Life is funny… laugh.

Well it was a 30 minute premier thats a big difference from last season and plus the premier had tons of commercials nobody wants to sit through commercials….but the show seems better than last season to me….ill never get tired of the hills and for the people that are bye bye don't let the door hit you on the way out!!!!!!

I use to LOVE the hills but ever sense its just became a tv show and not a reality show because everything in it is clearly been scripted down to where they live its just annoying. LC is just an annoying little brat who can't get a boyfriend or a ligit friend even though she's "famous" and has a lot of money. That's really sad actually. Its also sad that in the grand scheme of things Paris Hilton works harder and does more ligit work than she does. I think anybody still watching Hill's still believes that its "real"

well…commercial was too long, and I really think that Audrina was quite intolerable as she was talking to Lo. I do also have to point out that Lo was not being nice, but it is understandable since she comes from a different environment and her group of people is totally different from Audrina's. I still like the show..but it was too short.
Regardless if the show is fake or not. Im still committed to the show and Its the best show ever! I would watch the show over the Olympics anyday.
I dont think the show is fake anymore…becuz i read an interview that Lauren and Brody both regret reacting scenes that they were going stop doing it in the future episodes.

I love the hills but I think it's overrated. I think people watch it to take the attention off of their own life and follow theirs. It's hard to tell what's real and what's not. I don't see how they could be fine with everyone invading their private lives all the time.

I literally don't want to watch it because of Lo. I have ZERO desire to see her. I've been calling it since the second season that she was going to do whatever she could to get on the show. She has and its caused huge problems between LC and Audrina, the sweetest girl in the world. I hope Lauren's happy with her decision to bring Lo into The Hills- its going to cost her the show.

I love the show, but i stopped watching because i already know whats going to happen, its in all the magazines! i already know they audrina and lo are cool with each other, and that LC isn't even dating Doug anymore.

Here are my thoughts on it……. Yes, I think I speak for most of us that we in the USA are def getting sick of the hills. It was a fun guilty pleasure for a few years, but its gotten wayyyy over-hyped, and LC & company are getting treated like celebrities & way over-exposed…. they hit the top, now its time to knock them down and watch them wash up. LB was a much better show, and didnt get nearly as much attention as the hills is getting. We hear what Lauren / Speidi / Audrina / Brody and everyone else is doing in the tabloids anyway, so why the f*ck bother watching?? If anything big happens, we'll hear about it anyway. I def lost interest in watching lauren look conflicted w/ that same bland expression she always has on her face, and even more sick of watching spencer & heidi pretending to fight. F*ck em all.
I'd watch it if they advertised it for what it is: a completely scripted show pretending to be a reality show.

i love lauren but it's i think it should be more real like obviously they are famous that's their life and it seems like they try to hide that. I don't want to see half their life…that's prbably made up too. I think if it were more real people would watch it more.
I am the same age as them and share no interest or connection with their drama la life, plus all you need to do is watch the commercial for the upcoming episode and there you go, throw in some awkward pauses with hairflips and sipping drinks and thats the hills! Ps lo sucks she is insecure and needs to branch out
