Senator Biden deserves this - he is well seasoned in the Senate in foreign matters. I wish it could have been Hillary, but politics is politics. Senator Biden has overcome such personal tragedy, after his wife and baby girl were killed in a car accident shortly after he was elected to the Senate in 1972. I'm looking forward to he and Barack Obama being elected, and the resulting change in the economy and a change in the US attitude.

I would suggest people do a little research before immediately bashing Biden. As a Delawarean, I have always been grateful to have Biden in a position of political power. He's incredibly smart and unafraid to speak his mind, unlike a lot of those politicians who speak their own twisted form of English so you can't get a straight answer out of them. He has everything Obama lacks — 30 years of experience in the Senate, a stellar political record, and amazing foreign policy experience. Many leaders of other nations have a better relationship with Biden than they do with the president of the US. Consider this: Georgia is being bombed by Russia. Who does the Georgian president call and request help from? Joe Biden.

I think Obama picking Biden is an excellent choice, because Obama doesn't know shit about foreign affairs and Biden has been in the Senate ever since Obama was only 11 and he has presided in the judiciary of foreing affairs more than once. This guy knows his stuff, no matter how outspoken he is (at least we know the guy is honest).
I've been a fan of Biden; hoped that he'd actually get the democratic ticket for president but of course America would pick a celebrity (obama) over an actual potential candidate that could benefit this country in its time of need. I was going to vote Republican out of fear that Obama will put us in a worse situation globally since he has no fucking clue, but now that Biden is his running mate I feel more at ease now. Obama's revolutionary ideals, however unreaslitic they are, and Biden's realism and experience in foreign affairs might just save this country.

Biden has been in the senator since he was 29 and is one of the oldest members. He has a great deal of experience and is a wonderful choice for Obama's runningmate. Personally I would have prefered Chris Dodd but he and Dodd are very similar. Biden is a bit scatterbrained when it comes to public speaking…but I'm sure Obama has that covered.
Anyone who does not know who Biden is does not have a political pulse and clearly was only following this election because of it's pop culture value and not because of it's real importance and policies.
