Cher's the Next Catwoman?

We thought this was a joke, but The Telegraph is a respected newspaper.
According to the UK's Telegraph, Academy Award-winner and music icon Cher is in talks to play Catwoman opposite Christian Bale in the third installment of the revamped Batman film franchise.
A studio executive reportedly said,
"Cher is Nolan's (director) first choice to play Catwoman. He wants to her to portray her like a vamp in her twilight years. The new Catwoman will be the absolute opposite of Michelle Pfeiffer and Halle Berry's purring creations."

She is a little old for the part.
people start thinking outside the box!!!!!!!!!!!! how many other movies have the typical super hot villan with no depth and yeah its hot but oh so blah. i actually think cher would be a great casting…. the only thing is in the comic book batman eventually marries catwoman, so i dont see how this would get in the story line as far as a love interest. unless hes going towards a seasoned cougar who brodens batmans horizons and shapes his point of view like all the other villans.
I think she's too old. They should have someone else, like Angelina or hey, Madonna would make a good Catwoman.
Or maybe they should go in a totally different direction and hire someone unexpected, who doesn't appear to have that sexy factor but could totally pull it off. Like TINA CHEN *cough*

I don't believe this for the specific reason that the studio said for the third film they don't want to show any villains that have already been portrayed. If it's true, she won't be much of an adversary and I can see him just running into her, but at this point I don't think it will happen.
… I will boycot it. I really think i will. I am an avid little fan of the graphic novels, and of course I love what Nolan has done.. and in my imagination.. and obviously in the comic book.. I do not see CHER as catwoman.. or Selina Kyle.. what so ever..

This has got to be a joke. Cher as Catwoman? I don't think so. Catwoman has to be age-appropriate per Christian Bale as Batman. Who wants to see a 60 year old woman poured into a latex jumpsuit and beat up Batman? I don't think so. Try again studio bigwigs.
I think this is gonna be awesome!! Nolan is creating a new batman and are making the movies from a new perspective.. the other batman movies from the 80's didnt do so well right? and they tried this !typical" way of making batman. I have faith in Nolan and that he will create an amazing third batman movie, and actually think Cher would be AWESOME as Catwoman, an old vamp:D If they pick angelina Jolie, it will just be "another superhero movie" with a typical story plot. and nolan thinks outside the box!!! it depends on the story…if the char will be grudgy or so super mega diamond dark then cher is fit for the role but if the char will seduce Batman..either Angelina or charlize is perfect for the role.
