John McCain has chosen Alaska Governor Sarah Palin to be his Vice Presidential running-mate, the Associate Press is reporting.
This is historic!!!!
In January, we will either have our first African-American President or our first female Vice-President!!!!!!!!!!!

Yeah, Perez. He's a genius. Nominating a VP that many have not heard of, no one is clear on her political stance…. and she has a 4 month baby with Down Syndrome who will need a great deal of care and attention. Way to go McCain!

Interesting choice. As a parent of a special needs child, all I can say is…she JUST had a baby with Downs Syndrome in April. These children need a LOT of extra attention and support. They face challenges not only with cognitive delays, but physical delays as well. Many DS children also face enormous medical problems…typically with their heart. How is it that she can say that she'll be able to devote the MANY, MANY hours needed to be a devoted civil servant in the second highest office of our majorly f-ed up nation? Even if her husband is saying that he'll be the primary care giver, it's not enough for many of these children in most cases. I'm not saying that she shouldn't be a working mom…I'm ALL FOR THAT….but VP might not be the best job for her family, or for our nation at this point.
