Could you please delete our listing from your website, one of our volunteers thought that it might be a good idea to get the word out to people by being on this site , but after seeing the comments that we get and the disgusting stuff that you publish we are asking if you would kindly delete us from this site. Please confirm back to us that you have been able to do this for us. I believe that we just lost a $25,000 grant yesterday from and organization that was about to donate to our cause after they found out that we were on your site. Do you have any way of offsetting this loss for us?!

Please respect their wishes and remove the post. You are only drawing more negative attention to the organization by making a post like this. It isn't fair to the kids. You should have just obliged and moved on.

i actually kind of understnad where they are coming from. it was nice of you to the information up, but this isn't exactly a family friendly website, that organization is all about kids. it's just a hard dose of reality, you can't try and be a do-gooder while trashing everyone at the same time. i'm not trying to be mean, just realistic
I was originally impressed with this charity and was planning a donation as well as looking into how to expand this into other states as literacy and children's issues are very important for me. I will now by taking my money elsewhere. I spoke with the CEO's wife today and was amazed at how unconcerned she was by the backlash of would-be supporters. After again stating that they had lost a $25,000 donation she had no idea how much contributions had came in due to the publicity of this site. She also claimed to "have not read her husband's email and had no idea he was asking for the offset." I find that hard to believe! Sadly, the only ones losing out are the children.

Wow. If that organization really wanted to help the children, they will donate no matter what. Why must the children be denied of that donation just because the charity's website was posted here? I agree that this site can be horrible and downright mean, but pulling out donation is really lame. And what's funny is that they're trying to make you pay for the loss, like it's your fault.

First of all, kudos to you for adding a charitable component to your site in the first place. It brings balance to the trash talk…which, of course, I (and everyone else who commented below) enjoy so much, or else we wouldn't be here commenting in the first place. I do think it would be a good idea to contact the heads of featured organizations before posting them on the site to make sure they are aware of the forthcoming publicity…and, give them the opportunity to opt out ahead of time. Nonprofit organizations provide a multitude of valuable services on local and national levels. Fortunately or unfortunately, they rely on a broad range of constituents to support their great work. Very often, these folks are "good Christians" who can't look beyond the surface nature of your work to see the underlying altruism. And while I don't agree with the way they handled the situation, I know first hand how devastating the loss of a $25K grant can be to a small nonprofit. So, rather than bashing them here, I am going to prove that there are plenty of wonderful citizens who read your site by going to their site right now and making a donation to demonstrate my small piece of the positive will you intended by featuring them in the first place. Keep doing ALL of your good work! Philanthropy and entertainment do not have to be mutually exclusive ideas. Have we not learned anything from Brad and Ange?!?!
I'm sure sending you something like that will lose several more possible donations.
They obviously don't realize just how much your posts like that for charities really does help contribute.
Your page may not be exactly family friendly, but that's why it gets so many views. And those viewers also see those charity posts.

It is sad, you did the right thing by introducing another good cause into the lives of your readers, but this is a good time to rethink and/or edit the commentary on those specific topics.

Maybe the reason they lost a donation was because they don't care about the donations of all the "little" maybe "poorer" people who visit your site. Guess my $10 is not good enough. Sad, it's ok, your heart is definitely in the right place, their huge loss. I know I love seeing the posts about special groups (especially those relating to helping pets), and I've donated quite a bit of cash to them.

First of all, I can't get over the fact that the President and the CEO of any organization would not take the time to proofread their emails better, especially considering that they took the time to make themselves sound so above your site… "from and organization" (I believe they meant from AN). Secondly, although the content of this site may be questionable at times, I find it absolutley unbelievable that they would loose any donations due to their charity being posted on a site that has millions of viewers and has listed multiple charities in seperate posts, to get the word "out there" that include no other commentary than "Please donate to this charity"… The entire thing seems like complete bullshit to me. Then they even have the audacity to ask you to compensate for their loss, when there are most likely thousands of people who found out about the charity from your site. They have, however, asked to be removed from the site and the respectful adult thing to do is to remove them from the site, and move on with other, more grateful charities. I work for a nonprofit organization as a grant writer and I can tell you first hand, the letter you recieved by Mr. CEO/President of whatever organization is nonsense. He didn't lose a grant because of something someone saw on a website. Thats ridiculous. And you can tell he's lying in the language that he's using in the message.
He's full of it. It's always hit or miss with these grants and if your organization is doing such good work for the community, you don't need to use scapegoats as reasons why you didn't get funded.

After I emailed Paul, I called and spoke with him directly. He was very nice on the phone, even after I told him that I was disappointed in his email. He seemed to have mixed feelings. While he was excited that information about their organization is reaching so many of us, Perez doesn't have the most conservative posts on here. I let him know that I would be donating because of his post being here. Had Perez not ever posted their info here, I would have never known about the great things they are trying to accomplish. Kudos to Paul & his team for what they are doing! But in the future, please be more tolerant and appreciative of what others are trying to do for you!

It is not so strange then, that since you simultaneously support children's charities and at the same time refer to young girls as sluts or whores, that said charities would refuse endorsement from your website. You know perfectly well that you can be hurtful. Why would they want that connection? They are after all, charities.

You bash people left and right, you berate, judge, accuse, expose, and vilify people all over the place on this site. I am shocked, I don't quite know what to say… however, your site, is not necessarily family friendly or child friendly, so you might want to take that into consideration while finding good causes to promote.

Yeah, you should get better moderators, at the very least. You have some very vile readers who spew hateful junk just to upset others. Your posts are sometimes pretty distasteful, too, so it seems like they got the wrong kind of publicity from you. Children's funds can use all the help they can get, but you have to pick your venue. From time to time Perez will advertise a charity in need of donations, and even though I'm a student, when I can afford to I am more than happy to donate. ESPECIALLY when the organization benefits children. Frankly, I find it appalling when an organization discriminates as to where it receives it's donations from. If you don't like the website, you don't have to visit it, but to look down your nose at those who do is just terrible. Not to mention insulting to those who visited your website after seeing it promoted by Perez, and had intended to donate. Needless to say, I will be holding on to my donation, and instead I'll give double to the next organization Perez gives FREE promotion to.
Just because an individual indulges in the guilty pleasure of celebrity gossip websites, does not make their money any less valuable to you. I doubt children in need would be as discriminatory, and would just be thankful someone cared.

I wish you would take heed Perez and maybe class yourself up a bit. There is enough ugliness happening in the world without you spewing so much hate. You set the tone for many of your readers who spew their unmonitored, crude, hateful comments in this section. You actually encourage this. Yes, I do come to your site because the pictures and some of the less vicious news (gossip) you report on is interesting but I sure don't think much of you as a person. You would be just as successful if you eliminated all of your crude comments and didn't tolerate it from your readers either. Who can blame a charity of any kind for not wanting to be affiliated with that? Shame on you. While you are busy calling people sluts, has beens, and only famous for being famous, you should remember that you are only famous for writing about the famous. You are not above any of the people you write about, or in many cases, even as good a person.
There are so many things wrong with this sentence: "I believe that we just lost a $25,000 grant yesterday from and organization that was about to donate to our cause after they found out that we were on your site."
First of all, he said that he believes that is what happened. He did not say that he knows for a fact it happened. If he has no proof it happened then it didn't happen. Also, he needs to learn how to proof read. "and organization"?
I hate some of Perez’s posts just as much as the next person but it is outrageous to say that Perez could make a charity suffer simply from posting a link to its website.
I’ll also be very honest here. I never click on the posts Perez makes about charities and I seldom read them. I will assume most people on this site are the same way. Therefore, how could this have hurt the charity whatsoever? Either they are trying to make Perez feel guilty are they are an ungrateful charity. Neither are good.
Every time you add a cause to your website, I send in a small donation. I know a great deal of people who do as well. Have you ever experienced this before with another charity? I do not believe it is a real charity and I certainly do not believe they were denied a grant because of you. I think this person is after your money and it just goes to prove that not all charities are legit. These people deserve to be shut down for their ignorance and fraud. I wholeheartedly believe they are trying to make you feel sorry for them and in turn blame you. Do not feel bad, ignore them and just go about doing what you do sweetie. I know all the charities appreciate you and what you have done for them. You rock. These people are skeezy and I really hope no one sends them any money, it would serve them right for trying to blackmail you. Fraud Fraud Fraud. fuck em.
