Obama's Camp Responds!
Filed under: Barack Obama > John McCain > Sarah Palin
So, what does Team Barack think about John McCain's choice of Alaska Governor Sarah Palin to be his Vice Presidential running mate.
Well, Obama's spokesperson, Bill Burton, says:
"Today, John McCain put the former mayor of a town of 9,000 with zero foreign policy experience a heartbeat away from the presidency," Obama spokesman Bill Burton said in a statement.
Burton also criticized Palin as a vice presidential pick for her support of oil drilling in the Alaskan wilderness and her anti-abortion stance, referring to the 1973 Supreme Court decision that made abortion legal in the United States.
"Governor Palin shares John McCain's commitment to overturning Roe v. Wade, the agenda of Big Oil and continuing George Bush's failed economic policies. That's not the change we need, it's just more of the same," he said.
So, that's what they say.
What do U say????

I totally agree!! If McCain wins the loser won't be Obama, it will be USA…sadly
Don't be fooled by this woman. She is evil and does not stand for the same things that millions of women all over this country stand for. Do not vote McCain/Pailn - unless you want to continue down the same environmentally-damaging path this country is on. But if you want to loose your right to choose then these asshats are the pres and vp for you. EDUCATE YOURSELF! Understand the important issues and make a decision you can stand behind and be proud of!
Re: Women for McCain –
also…
you are a tool, stop posting. i'm sorry to share a gender with the likes of you. please kindly kill yourself, and if you are trying to have children, stop immediately. people like you simply should not breed.
fuckin waste of air and resources. =/
Re: RiRiStarlett – First of all not everyone believes the non-sense that is the book of revelations. So that disqualifies the youtube videos to begin with, and IF ( a mighty big one at that) if the book of revelation is TRUE prophecy there would be nothing you could do to change it, so if you plan to vote reTHUGlican just stay home.
Re: Jenny2 – Jenny if you don't believe a woman has the right to do with her uterus what she wants then you are anti-woman by the very definition. Terminating a pregnancy in the first trimester is not killing any life, no more than flushing sperm down the toilet is killing life.
Re: FairyEyes – oh so the morning after pill is okay, but an abortion in the first trimester isn't? Isn't that a bit contradictory, and hypicritical? If a woman is using abortion as birth control, she has more problems than the abortions, and needs a little help. Where is your christian compassion helping her with her other problems? Or are you just judgemental about the abortions?
Re: Andy27 –
Does it physically hurt to be such an ignorant person?
We are BORN into our names, when you reach puberty, you'll
gain some much needed perspective on the world.
THat is if your not drafted first.
obama is a little bitch……go sarah!!!!!!! sarah is knock him out……good move McCain, the reason he is the future prez!!!!!
Will they stop saying "more of the same" they talk to people like there 6 year olds.
McCain's a genius - he totally stole Obama's thunder.
Re: Flippar – #204
Um…no that is NOT the definition of anti-woman. Please let me re-direct you from your ignorance. ANTI-woman is the mindset that women are inferior beings to men. Neither myself nor Gov. Palin that you are bashing are anti-woman…we are anti-abortion.
As a nurse…I can assure you that Terminating a pregnancy in the first trimester extinguishes a human with a heart beat and brain activity. I have seen sperm and I have seen the remains of first trimester aborted babies–there is NO comparison. One can make a life and one IS a life.
———————————————————
Whether you agree with Gov. Palin's stance on abortion or not is fine…but, to idiotically call a female who came from a middle class background, studied hard, went to college, became a mayor and state governor while holding down a marriage and five children and having a superior approval rating in a normally "man's" job—and you call her anti-woman…its ludicrous and insulting to the history of suffrage.
Re: Flippar – what the fuck? this is a woman who is a governor of her state who believes taht she has the right to be successful. Isnt women's rights about being equal to men. I would say that she would defenitly support the right of women to speak freely. She makes her own decisions just like most femonists belivee women should. She chooses to be pro-life, she chooses not to support gay marriage. If anything shes more independent as a woman becuase esh is a conservative. I'm a girl and a republican and i am happy for the rights i have but if i were to support hilary because alot of other women did, how does that make me as a woman and individual? I think this whole palin is anti-women shit is pathetic. She obviously would not take on a political job if she was against womens rights ya dumb fucks.
go mccain!
Re: Flippar – Just for ur information…since you obviously r talking out of ur ass instead of researching…a baby's heart begins to beat only 18 days after conception. And it begins to pump blood thru a closed circulatory system only 21 days after conception. Most women do not even know they r pregnant at that time. A beating heart is a human life. A sperm does not have a beating heart! So abortion in the first trimester is still taking a life, whereas flushing sperm down the toilet (as u said) is not. U r only making a fool of urself.
This is to all you dumb fucks saying Obama has no experience. He realizes you idiots who have done no research and jump to conclusions by what you hear on FOX news are going to say that, which is why he chose Biden, an EXTREMELY experienced politician, as his running mate. That team is unstoppable and offers a new hope for America after Bush fucked it up.
McCain's choice for VP is an absolute joke and frankly an insult to women everywhere. He is a smart man who saw how the American public reacted to a woman running for president. They LOVE Hillary (as do I) and he thinks that by choosing a woman as a running mate, he will get all their votes. I'm hoping that people are not stupid enough to fall for this shit, but you know some of them will. This lady was no where near McCain's top choice, but he did what he thinks he needs to do to win.
OBAMA/BIDEN 2008!!
It doesn't matter who McCain picks, he's not going to be president. If Bush pulls another 2000 Florida thing and he DOES win, I'm renouncing my US citizenship and moving to Ireland.
Re: Flippar – The morning after pill does not take a life. It prevents a life from being developed. The morning after pill must be taken within 48 hrs to truly be effective. An abortion even in the first trimester is still taking a life. I hate to break it to you, but yet again u r wrong.
Are we gonna see Barack Obama's speech from yesterday it was amazing!
Re: JayPea – I totally agree. Im disgusted with where this country is going and McCain is elected im not sticking around and waiting for ww3
Re: pinkmartini – are you kidding me???????????? THEY WANT FUCKING OFFSHORE DRILLING YOU DUMBASS! THEY DONT WANT TO HAVE TO GET OIL FROM OTHER COUNTRIES!!!!!!!!!! seriously, you have the most pathetic argument i have EVER seen! world war three will start when we pull all our troops out adn some extremist group gets pissed because we stop helping them get their country back on track and so then they bomb new york again and thsi tiime, theres no sympathy. Maybe if we have offshore drilling we can be another supplier of oil and have Russia as a customer so it doesnt have to invade another god damn country for oil. or maybe we can just tell them to fuck off.
but seriously, you the biggest hypocrite in the world
Re: Shaunabobauna – #213 says "which is why he chose Biden, an EXTREMELY experienced politician, as his running mate."
===============================
I'd rather have a president with a ton of experience and a VP who is a rookie…then the other way around
With Obama you have a rookie in charge who wasn't brave enough to vote yes/no more than 75% of the time in the Senate and took the cowards way out by voting "abstain"—and yet he wants to be the fearless leader of change…whatever
McCain suckz but he suckz less than Obama
and now with Palin on the ticket—he's got the power of a bitch who gets shit done!
Wow, who knew
Fat chicks and fags were so political.
She does not have more experience than Obama. McCain disappointed me and a lot of other people with his choice. If he really thinks Clinton supporters will vote for him because he put a female on the ticket he's as stupid as he is boring. She isn't Hilary. She doesn't have the weigh behind her(ie, a Bill.) Maybe time will tell, but everyone including Romney thought he was the choice. Where the heck did this chick come from?
I like the Alaskan governor and think she was a fantastic pick.
People ARE allowed to be against abortion too, you know.
It doesn't just work the other way around.
They're also allowed to want to drill in Alaska - because contrary to popular belief, there are PLENTY of Polar Bear in that state. In fact they have more PB in Alaska now than in years past. Not to mention, the drilling of oil there would not only NOT bother the wild life but it would also give more jobs to otherwise unemployed Alaskans or Alaskans with terrible jobs that don't pay.
I support McCain's decision to pick Sarah Palin for Vice-President.
And I'd also like to point out that I find it ironic that Obama's representative pointed out Palin's inexperience when Obama has practically no experience whatsoever. Especially compared to the former Democratic candidates.
Re: JayPea – #214 says "It doesn't matter who McCain picks, he's not going to be president. If Bush pulls another 2000 Florida thing and he DOES win, I'm renouncing my US citizenship and moving to Ireland. "
========================================
Feel free to move…this IS a free country…
May I request that you not use the same travel agent as Susan Sarandon, Barbara Streisand and Cher… They all twice claimed they would leave the US if Bush was elected…and yet their sorry asz's still soak up the benefits of this country.
i agree with burton.
This is nothing but McCains sad desperate attempt to rev up his campaign. He chose Palin merely to try and capture the Hiliary supporters out there, unfortunately for him, this woman is no Hiliary! The man might as well admit defeat now.
Re: Andy27 – GO OBAMA!!!!!! I AM VOTING FOR OBAMA!!! THIS GUY COULDN'T EVEN GET HIS LAST NAME RIGHT, HE WROTE OSAMA!!!! U R A MORON
Re: Andy27 – ITS OBAMA YOU MORON
Re: vapid beyotch – I TOTALLY AGREE WITH YOU
i believe that she has more experience than mr. obama. she has governed a state, instead of sit in congress just voting. she has experience governing over a large amount of land and people. more than barack obama can say…
Can I just point out that McCain is only against Roe vs Wade because he thinks that abortion laws should be up to the STATE to decide, NOT the government.
Why do people think that's wrong? That's how the founding fathers meant for the government to be. No huge federal laws, it should be up to the STATES to decide.
Re: !.!.!.!.!.!. – First of all the morning after pill prevents an egg from being implanted. That egg could be fertilized already. Maybe YOU should get your facts straight. So depending on when one believes that life begins, then the morning after pill is an abortion. Ask the Catholic zealots just what they think of the morning after pill. Second just because a heart is beating doesn't mean that there is any brain activity.
Third this is a womans choice period. A woman has the right to decide whether to complete her pregancy to term. A man has no business being involved in this decision, and only has the right to input in a marriage. If abortion is taking a life then it is between the woman and her God. Abortion should remain legal, SAFE (not with a coat hanger on a dirty table which is what will happen if it is outlawed), and rare. Republicans have no intention of ever outlawing abortion. They have had the chance with the Presidency, house, and senate during George W. Traitor Bush's term and didn't do it. So the only conclusion is that Rethuglicans use abortion as a campaign tool. If they outlawed it they couldn't win crap. They have to keep people fired up about it so that you keep voting for them. Just look at Teri Schiavo. Three senators in the middle of the night passing legilation for one woman. I can tell you having known, and having had family in the situation of disconnecting life support that Government has NO BUSINESS in the decisions of life and death which includes abortion. So pull your head out of your ass and quit destroying the constitution in the name of life thinking you are saving someone all the while killing a whole nation. Talk about an abortion!!!!!!!!!!
you are just JELALOUS CUZ YOU DIDN'T GET ANY BACK IN THE DAY AND STILL DON'T…..WE ALL KNOW HOW OFTEN YOU ARE SHUT DOWN BY THE BOYS HERE IN WEHO……GIGGLE…THEY ALWAYS CALL YOU THE FATTY AT THE ABBEY AND HOW YOU MUST GET DRESSED IN THE DARK. GOOD FOR SARAH AND BTW SHE IS DOWN WITH LBGT………SO STOP SLAMMING MARIO. YOU WISH YOU HAD A VAGINA!!!!
To all you spouting off that abortion is murder I would like for you to propose your plan to deal with the repercussions of the significant increase in population that would occur if abortions were banned. You all go around screaming murder but never offer any alternative insights into the economic effects of overturning Roe vs. Wade. So you think by banning abortion that all people who would have chosen that route will give their kids up for adoption? The truth of the matter is that most people will keep their children and become a drain on the economy. A ban on abortion won’t stop people from having unprotected sex and we’ve all seen how far abstinence promotion has got us. You may look at the pro-life view as a way to force people to own up to their responsibilities. But the fact of the matter is that a ban on abortion would create a spike in population and guess what the entire country will be paying for this for years to come. As a population grows within a country so do taxes and shared responsibility. So are you ready to take on the responsibility of millions of unfit parents just because you don’t morally agree with what they choose to do in their personal lives? I for one am not…we already pay for enough through welfare and other ridiculous programs. So unless you’re ready to offer up some alternative insights you need to stop with the cries of morality absent of discussion of the consequences.
Re: Flippar – stop saying dumb things on this blog and go to the damn free clinic and get an abortion or something if its so okay with you
It could be that Sarah Palin was chosen by John Mccain to gain votes from Clinton supporters who refuse to follow Obama. The Republican party was ranting and raving a few days ago about how Mccain supports women in positions of power, unlike Obama. Could be possibility–think about it. One thing is for sure–Mccain is a corporate whore.
Re: Jenny2 –
Pro-choice doesn't mean pro-abortion either - nice republi-tard weak ass comeback.
Maybe I'm wrong, but I give women voters more credit than to think they will just pull the lever for the candidate with another woman on there. It feels more like McCain is running for prom king than president and hoping the women will just wander into his pasture like blind sheep. He's an idiot and hopefully this mistake will be what we need to carry OBAMA into the WHITEHOUSE!!! Besides, female Democrats are more saavy than those redneck republicans and won't be swayed into voting for that bimbo and his bimbette. Sorry for the blanket generalization rednecks! Maybe SOME of you have a brain and make better decisions than the majority in your states.
It's not change, just more of the same!
Re: colo –
How bout bringing God back into the schools? How bout kids learning to wait to hav sex?
But I'm sure you'll label me as a religious fanatic, but hey I don't mind. I'm proud.
I know it wouldn't stop all unplanned pregnancies, but maybe it could slow them down, along with all the STD's kids are getting.
Seems like no one cares anymore. And hey, I don't want to have to pay for it either, same for those on welfare who are able to, but choose not to work.
For shits sake - that's like the pot calling the kettle black. Obama is only a junior senator. He is 99th in seniority in the Senate and has to wait his turn until every other senator has asked questions to speak. His only experience with "foreign policy" was his trip to Europe which in my opinion was more of an extremely preemptive victory lap than anything else.
What do you queers care about abortion anyway? You are disgusting human beings with rotten souls.
Re: Flippar – Im not saying abortion should be outlawed! A woman has the right to do whatever she wants with her body (even tho the child inside her is not necessarily HER life…its a life in itself) but u r saying that a beating heart is not a life? You say u have dealt personally with disconnecting life support? Well usually when people disconnect life support its because there is no brain activity…so if that was the case with the person u knew then r u saying because there was no brain activity ur loved one was not alive anymore? R u saying that it would not matter if that person lived or died because there was no brain activity? Death is not determined until the heart stops beating. Therefore life must be determined by when the heart BEGINS to beat! Im not screaming murder…im not saying im for the republicans (actually i consider myself a democrat on most grounds) but i am simply saying that a human life is a human life. It must be respected.
As a citizen and tax payer, of the US, for the past 40 plus years…
I DON'T care about foreign policy.
I DON'T care about oil-drilling.
As for abortion…..I was always opposed to them….UNTIL I was FORCED to undergo a 5 1/2-6 month abortion because the man (who I thought was my father), decided that having unprotected sex with a 13yo CHILD was more desirable, than having sex with his wife. Do I regret/think about it? You bet your ass I do. Not a day goes by, that I don't recall that day…my legs up in the stirrups, nurses holding my hands, a doctor (that I had never seen before) between my legs, a shot injected into me (to force the labor), and the sound of 'what was inside of me' being dumped into a trash can. And, that was 30 YEARS AGO!
With all that I had been through, I would STILL NEVER tell another rape victim that she should have to carry 'a child of rape' through term…let alone, raise it.
For all of you 'righteous' people……do not cast stones or make assumptions. For, you may just be the next person to lay on a table, with your feet in the stirrups.
Re: shante mcnasty – You arent to bright or informed are you? Joe Biden has been in the senate for 35 years. 35 years ago palin was 9. Obama was a state senator before he reached washington. Obama might not be the best candidate, but the question of his experience shouldnt be a major issue.
Re: !.!.!.!.!.!. – "a human life is a human life. It must be respected. " With that statement I agree. But respect sometimes involves the termination of life, as is the case with someone on life support with no brain activity. So abortion is respecting life as well. Now when it starts to get into the second trimester and brain activity begins I start to have a problem with abortion, but non the less it is still the womans choice who is carrying that child. I have no business involved in that decision. So just because Palin is "Pro-Life" (and I put pro-life in quotes intentionally because I really don't buy she is) doesn't make her pro-woman or even a feminist. In fact the only reason she is govenor I speculate is because she is a control freak. She got her ex-brother-in-law fired, which reaks of control freak. And just how smart was it to get her ex brother-in-law fired if he was paying alimony or child support? How is that even pro-family?
Re: ro dawg – a more experienced presidential candidate with a lesser experienced vp is better then an inexperienced president and experienced
OMG I agree- if John McCain dies while hes in the presidency we're stuck with a person who has ABSOLUTELY NO FEDERAL EXPERIENCE WHATSOEVER!!!!!!!
Re: Andy27 – UR AN IDIOT think for yourself and do your research-
Re: Shaunabobauna – you are very very very very VERY ignorant if you think ONE person is to blame for the current situation of our country.
Re: GMN582 – Re: GMN582 – Re: GMN582 – um HA you mean more experience…. in Alaska! Have you ever been to alaska? NO ONE LIVES THERE their idea of fun is fishing, canning fish, eating fish and then going to a bar afterwards…. tell a New Yorker an Alaskan is going to make sure they stay safe, see how that flies!
Re: nicola123 –
So having a senator that is friends with a terrorist that bombed American sites, is buddies with a convicted slum lord, hangs out in a church that is very negative towards America, good? Have you even read Michelle Obama's thesis? In fact she works at a hospital that won't take somebody that doesn't have insurance. I'm in the military and have served in combat zones and have been staioned in many countries. The world still likes us, i've heard it from peoples mouths. It's the radical extremests that hate us.
I think the fact that they came back hours after releasing this saying that it was wonderful and inspiring (something along those lines) that McCain chose a woman for VP speaks for itself.
Palin is hard to critisize. she a woman and that "lack of experience" won't fly with the american public because you can say nearly the same thing for Obama.
"Today, John McCain put the former mayor of a town of 9,000 with zero foreign policy experience a heartbeat away from the presidency." Where as with Obama, you'd just be handing that to him.
Re: Shaunabobauna –
Wasn't it Obama who said it's time for old Washington politics to be gone? I believe Biden has been a senator longer than McCain. In fact he was elected when Nixon was still in office. Also, if Palin is a joke, then what is Obama? She has been a city Council member, A Mayor, and a Governor. She took on her own party there in Alaska. I think she has experience. Senator Obama has only shown up to work for 143 days since being elected a senator. He's been on the campaign trail longer than he's been in the senate. The committee he chairs has never even had a meeting. Now if you say the Republican VP candidate is a joke, then the Democratic candidate for president is an even bigger joke.

Re: amleema – This might would have some validity if people saw woman as strong as men. Obama, whether it is fair or not, will be seen as stronger than Palin even with his lack of experience. However, Obama did choose Biden for the percise attack of lack of foriegn policy experience.
For all of you stuck on the "experience" issue I'd like to point out that whether you're a Dubya supporter or not, there's no denying that he's fucked the country - especially in economic terms, and he's been in the white house for 8 years plus had a father who was president. Clearly this means experience doesn't amount to much.
Obviously McCain is a bible thumper appealing to people's peripheral modes of thinking, which is appropriate because studies have shown a correlatin between conservatism and religion. In turn, MENSA surveys have also shown a negative correlation between religion and education = the more religious a person is, the less intelligent they are.
This is going to be the biggest obstacle to surmount - the fact that republican supporters are just plain ignorant and McCain knows and is appealing to that very well (I cite the Paris Hilton ad as example - that ad required 0 intelligence to understand nor did it provoke any thought what so ever on relevant political issues).
Unfortunately, I do not know how to educate the unwilling. It truly saddens me to see how ignorant America has become.
here's the real question, how many people outside of alaska knew who sarah palin was before this morning?
obviously a desperate ploy for the women/hilary voters and for republicans to seem progressive. too bad their stances on same sex marriage, abortion, and reliance on oil are the same shit we've already heard. and if mccain's old ass dies in office id rather not have a hockey mom for a president.
and thanks for the mention that little track palin registered and is being deported on september 11th. that date worked well for bush too.
What a dreadful first choice as president…………..what judgment..boo

Re: cyatic910 – You are seriously going to say that OBAMA is friends with terrorists?!?!? You are quite ignorant then and should get your facts straight and perhaps comprehend that the BUSH family have extremely close relations with families connected to terrorist organizations. Also, your statement concerning that only radical extremists hate your country just shows how easily manipulated and ignorant you are. You are an ideal voter for politicians who control their people. Let me guess-you voted for Bush TWICE right? hahahaha. idiot. and ps the world DOESNt hate America, they hate ignorant and misinformed people like yourself.
I would tell you to go read a book and inform yourself but I have learned that the education cannot help those that do not WANT to learn the truth.
Back to FOX you go!
The McCain people are hoping that Hillary women will be this gullible and vote for him just because he has a woman on the ticket. She's a pro-life protestant who wants to have creationism taught in schools. Yeah, that McCain is showing he's a true Maverick with THAT pick.
I am angered and outraged my McCain's VP pick. How incredibly patronizing to us women voters and former Hillary supporters. Do they think we won't notice she supports 0 of the same policies as Clinton? Note to Republicans: Get a fucking clue!
With this press release the candidate of change has trashed the accomplishments of this woman. By calling her the former mayor of a small town instead of referring to her as the Gov. of Alaska diminishes her stature as the leader of a state and attacks her personally. I thought Obama was above this kind of politics. Where's the congratulations for the historic pick that it is. Instead they belittle her. I would be pissed if I was a woman.
Zippety chick, Obama voted against born alive infant protection act, even though Naral ProChoice America had no objections. Also, it does not matter what the president of vice president feel towards abortion since it is the Supreme Court of the U.S. that has already MADE that decision years ago. Bush is anti-abortion and abortion remains safe and legal!
Obama is running for President and is painfully inexperienced with his position in the Senate his only real experience. Palin is only running as vice president and would only step up if the situation demanded making the Obama situation far more frightening.
Also of note is that while Alaska is small population-wise, it is of great economic importance to the United States…think oil independence. She also managed to turn Alaska around and away from corruption. Obama has only managed to run from office to office.
I had hoped to vote for Hilary and will now vote McCain. We need a president that can make decisions and answering "present" isn't enough.
Re: nicola123 – I'm not a doctor , I just play one on TV, Johnny Boy's mom is older than dirt a is sharp as a knife and gets around very well, him might out live us all!

Yes, big oil business has been attacked by this wonderful American woman! They are now having to do the job, earning the oil money for us, not the middle east fools…..as well as making them actually pay more taxes and enforcing legislature that had been bribed away, in the past…CHECK OUT THE FACTS!! She has even cut back on her own state governments spending…putting more money in the bank, via taxes and earmark cuts! CHECK OUT THE FACTS!! She is highly esteemed by all, talk about her like she isn't in it wo win it….honey, she doe4sn't have time to write tell all expose's…she has work to do!! Get it done McCain, ROCK ON!!
Re: Squirrel – This might have an ounce of validity if Rethuglicans weren't Scientologists playing fair game themselves. Don't you have some money to print, or someone's life to ruin, or something?

Re: Seriously – And what would you have him say? What would you have McCain say. Of course they all are going to say it is about the people. They all say that to get elected. Look at McCains record on vetrans issues. McCain hasn't voted once for any vetrans issues, and flipp flopped on more issues than hairs on a skunk. For gay rights, then against, abortion the same and on and on and on, not to mention the man is 72 and on his way to senility. I for one don't want Nancy Regan's astrologer back in the white house making decisions again.
Re: ANDY27 IS AMAZING F U LETTYB – Is that really what u look like? A retarded Buddy Holly or Gary Busey with FOUR FISTS up his ASS! DAYUMMMM!!!!
Are the press and the Obama camp starting to bash yet ANOTHER great woman? Who do they think they are, that can get away with bashing women left and right? Whatever specific convictions she has, she is a great American dream that has broken barriers most women can't break, precisely because people like the Obama supporters that bashed Hillary first and Palin after.
Governor Palin has created more change during her time in Alaska than McCain, Binden, and Obama have combined during their time in senate!!
Obama has zero percent experience on foriegn poicy HIMSELF yet, we are supposed to feel comfortable with HIM being in the #1 seat?!!! Is he saying that the vice Pres will run the "foriegn portion" of our goverment? How could he allow such an ignorant statement?!!! Even Hilary admits Obama doesn't have the experience of Mccain in forgien relations to lead! At least Sara Palin stands by her conviction against Abortion. While confronted with a pregnacy of a Down syndrome child, she commited to a live birth, which many of us wouldn't do…
Re: Flippar – Touche' - I admit, Republicans are "gloves off" fighters. They don't hold back when they perceive an opening. But I think Team Obama jumped the gun on the attack and it shows how uneasy they are with the Palin pick. McCain tipped his hat yesterday to Obama and congratulated him on his historic nomination and I'm surprised Obama didn't repsond in kind today with their initial response to this pick. There's plenty of time for upper cuts and body blows, but this statement is a punch below the belt.
Re: snarkybitch – and you are a prime supporter of the democrats, using uncouth words to get your point across. try an education.
Re: krazihottkelli/bitchygrl – Your #272 comment does NOTHING for the subject at hand. FFS…use an 'S" every now and again. Your posts don't do anything but show your immaturity and ignorance.
You may think that it's 'cute' to use 'z's'…but, it's not.
Barack Obama is the American dream in motion!
Re: PoliSciLady –
Why is it people cannot take any criticism? Why do you have to insult somebody who doesn't share your views? I didn't use that language. In fact that makes you look more ignorant. Now, Obama is friends with William Ayers, who bombed the Pentagon, the White House, and NY Police HQ. So yes, he is friends with him. He began his campaign at Ayers' house. Easily manipulated? I've been to and fought in Iraq, I've been to many countries, and extremists do hate us. I never said the world hates us. I think you should go back to school, i think you're the one that isn't informed. You sound like a kid living at home with his mom. That was a pretty childish statement, because when i was getting shot at in Iraq, I don't think they were shooting because I was misinformed as you say.
Re: Squirrel – Palin is not a historic pick. Perhaps you are too young to remember Geraldine Ferraro nominated as a VP. Hillary Clinton was a historic run as she was the first woman to run for president. So the Democratic party makes history, and the Republican party mocks it by comparing it to cheap celebrities. Palin is admirable for having a child with down Syndrome but that very fact makes her an even worse choice. She needs to be devoting time to the child as oppose to being a VP. And even if she has someone to help, how much as a mother will she be able to step away from the child and really devote to the country?
Re: urdumb – As far as Obama's lack of foriegn policy experience he wouldn't be the first president without it. As a matter of fact I believe Bill Clinton didn't have any foriegn policy experience, and he seemed to protect Israel just fine. Isn't that what the religious zealots worry about?
THEY HAVE ABOUT THE SAME AMOUNT OF EXPIERENCE! i feel like joe biden would have been a better presidental nominee and obama as v.p, but stop trying to argue a point that you also have to defend. thats so stupid.
Last time I checked Obama has no foreign policy experience, unless you include his "campaigning" in Germany when he was bashing the US just a few weeks ago. And he's running for the #1 job. So I think I'll take Sarah over him.
and also what does obama want to change and how is he going to, all i hear is change but i would like to know what and how.
barack isn't going to be president
It is very telling that last night John McCain was a gentleman and congratulated Mr. Obama and today all the Obama campaign can do is spew hate.
Joe Biden has suffered a brain anyeurism(sp), more serious than skin cancer (J. McCain).
Aren't the dems for the "little people"? I guess the little people of Alaska don't count? They are scared and rightly so.
Re: Flippar – The election you refer to was my first election to vote in. I voted Mondale. I also voted for Gore and Kerry. Since I live in a very red state my vote for Gore and Kerry was a protest against Bush more than an endorsement of the candidates. Had my state been close I would have voted differently.

You can complain all you want about the Paris ad but it struck a nerve with the voters and the Obama Team. The results can be seen in the polls and the way Obama reacted to it. Obama is weak and it would be foolish of the Republicans not to exploit this. I agree, it was a cheap shot.
-
As for the historic pick. There is no denying it. She's will be the first female VP nominee in 20 years. Nothing to sneeze at if you are a woman.
-
Your last point spit in the face of professional women and all women in general.
-
44 years old by the way. Just like Palin.
Re: californialove – All Obama has to do to make change is get into office and most of the corruption (Dick Cheney) is gone. So how is that for a start on change?
Re: marie28 – Perhaps you should get the transcript of that speech and actually read it!
Re: annalisa – The only way that Obama isn't going to be president and McCain is going to be means that we are truly in the end times and the book of revelation is true. At which point I will be naked and waiting for the rapture invention to whisk me into the air.
Re: Squirrel – Spit in the face, or facing reality and true concern for a child and a mother?
I totally agree with p*vixxen, this just shows that McCain is another republican that only cares about publicity. He just wants all of the Clinton supporters to vote for him now that she has endorsed Obama. Sure Obama has little experience, but at least he has been in Washington serving as a senator, and not almost a country away being a female Governor with kids and a bitch ass husband. Not to mention the fact that she supports oil drilling in Alaska(some of the natural beauty that we have left in this country). I am a die hard Clinton supporter, but I would rather see a democrat in office making a change, instead of making the rich richer, and the middle class(which is majority of the country) poorer, and not having to lose everything that they have worked HARD for. McCain is also a closed minded old man, and the only people that can make a difference are the younger generation who are more open minded and not stuck in the past trying to overturn Roe Vs. Wade, instead of worrying about the real issues like Health care and the economy. If we want 4 more years of Bush then vote McCain Palin. Me personally, I want my future children to have access to affordable health care and education, and for me personally I want to make the same as a man after going to college for four years…and I would also like to have social security one day. Vote Obama 08!!
Re: Flippar – Say that to a woman. You're digging yousrelf deeper.
I want away from oil dependence and less welfare recipients. Who should I vote for?
Re: Andy27 – Andy27 I agree with your comment to "snarkybitch"!!!!
Liberals tend to be idealogues, endorsing empty promises that have no hope of being fulfilled…so many young college slobs who endorse Obama have no knowledge of the real fucking world!!!
Re: thisizridic – Mccain is pledging to build Nuclear Power Plants throughout the US…something like 40 or 50. Now that is change we can believe in! (coming from the gf of a nuclear engineer..this is an outstanding option for alternative energy…we can really learn something from France in this regard!)
NOCOCK YOMAMA???? What's his name?
WHY WOULD A PERSON, SAY LIKE ANDY 27, USE AN AVATAR OF A GAY WHITE MALE WHEN SHE IS NEITHER? HMMM, TAKE MY WORD FOR IT, I KNOW.
Re: Andy27 – Oh goody!! More wars!! Go McLame!
