So, what does Team Barack think about John McCain's choice of Alaska Governor Sarah Palin to be his Vice Presidential running mate.
Well, Obama's spokesperson, Bill Burton, says:
"Today, John McCain put the former mayor of a town of 9,000 with zero foreign policy experience a heartbeat away from the presidency," Obama spokesman Bill Burton said in a statement.
Burton also criticized Palin as a vice presidential pick for her support of oil drilling in the Alaskan wilderness and her anti-abortion stance, referring to the 1973 Supreme Court decision that made abortion legal in the United States.
"Governor Palin shares John McCain's commitment to overturning Roe v. Wade, the agenda of Big Oil and continuing George Bush's failed economic policies. That's not the change we need, it's just more of the same," he said.
So, that's what they say.

And as for experience, Obama doesn't really need to be accusing anyone for a lack of experience. I've always voted democratically but I swore that if Obama didn't include Clinton on his ticket, I would not vote and I'm sticking by it. I can't believe some of these comments. First, not all abortions are because someone "regrets an irresponsible decision", there are other reasons, and speaking of irresponsible decisions who has a 5th kid at 44, not to mention returns to the office 3 days later? And who is going to take care of these 5 kids including a special needs newborn while she's off being vice president? Granted, I support her ability to chose either way–people just need to look at all sides of such an complicated and personal issue.
Secondly–drilling in Alaska… there are two schools of thought here: yeah it would be nice to support our oil-addiction without being dependent on the middle east, but it's going to take 10 years to get to this (while inevitably destroying some pristine wild places). And oil is a finite resource. Or we could spend the same time period investing in renewable energy sources and maybe clean the air up a bit while we're at it.
Third–to everyone that says Obama (please don't call him Osama, that's just ignorant) doesn't have a real plan and only a tagline of change: watch last night's speech. or do a little research. He's got a lot more good ideas than the republicans do right now. And he's smart enough to listen to other people's good ideas as well.

The President has NO say about abortion WHATSOEVER.
ROE isn't going to be overturned anytime soon.
This is what it would take to make that happen:
Two courts would have to have conflicting resolutions on the same abortion case. That won't happen, because the judges adhere to the Constitution, aka ROE.
The Supreme Court gets THOUSANDS of writ of certiorari requests every year. They will choose around like 80 to view in court.
THEN the judges would have to overrule it. But that won't happen because Ginsberg, Souter, Breyer Kennedy and Stevens will be IN FAVOR of Roe.
The President has NO say on what cases make the court. NONE. So litmus tests are ABSOLUTELY pointless because the probability that an abortion case will reach the court anytime soon is slim to none. IT WILL NOT HAPPEN.
So stop worrying about any candidate's view on abortion. They can't do anything about it. Only the court can.
I don't think there was any dig on her experience from Obama… J.M. is old. IF he dies while in office, she would be prez. That's the whole point of VP. I think J.M. is tryong to get the disgruntled Hilary backers on his side. It might work, but I hope not. Truth is, experience doesn't always equal integrity, which I think Obama has. That's what I want in the leader of my country.

sarah palin was the mayor of wasilla, a small town outside of anchorage and now she is the governor. As governor she is doing an ok job, but it scares me to think that if mcain were to be elected and were to kick the bucket while in office she would be president. She has no experience and she doesn't really know shit without people telling her it. It will be interesting to see how she handles the debate with biden. Mccain is just trying to get clinton supporters who aren't 100% with Obama to vote for him.
oh I am pro choice, non-partisan, and I believe in drilling ANWR, which is just a bunch of melting tundra with some caribou and a shit ton of mosquitis.
