Whatever Skittles is/was doing….that is not what my (1101) comment was about. Comments were shared last night, and Skittles was somewhat decent, polite and respectful (even though they were made to an Obama supporter). But, today…she is considerably less considerate of others views. I mean, come on…there is no need to get obnoxious and belligerent, to another person that you can't even see face to face, just because they don't answer your ONLINE GOSSIP SITE question(s) as fast as you'd like.

Re: SKITTLES – I would never presume to talk down to anyone. I am a mere mortal, who HAS been known to make mistakes (and, I can pretty much guarantee that I made one today…but, Lord only knows what it was). But, do I have the right to 'talk down to others'? No.
Please, don't bother yourself on 'enlightening' me. I may very well be 'a few puppies short of a petshop'…but, I have done quite well, in my endeavors, thoughts and beliefs. Let's see…I have a kid that is well-clothed, well-fed, well-schooled, a vehicle that has a full tank of gas, my taxes are paid, my bills are paid, and I have money in the bank….yep, I'm as 'enlightened' as I want, and can hope to be. Whether you call it 'attacking', 'baiting' or 'engaging', by others….a sure sign of maturity is letting them pass by, without stooping to that level. YOU are the only one who can allow someone to provoke you. If you allow it, then you deserve it. Someone is 'beneath you' if they don't have anything of merit, to say? Wow, you must get some major esteem highs and lows, depending on where you are at, and who you talk with, during the day.

Since, I graduated high school about 25 years ago, I have to rely on books, news, internet searches, and the like. I will not dispute that Minx has intelligence and knowledge. I, also, respect her. But, my respect is mainly due to the respect, consideration and lack of name calling, that she shows to the other commentators.

I've been doing my research, but it has been hard since i have to shift through mountains of sites that have a definitive liberal or conservative slant. I'm finding myself polarized on this issue we spoke about and the information I'm reading. And I can't seem to find an answer on why these abortions are even allowed if the fetus can survive…if that's possible why can't doctors instead of performing an abortion, give birth by cesarean? Any ideas on unbiased sources and an answer to my medical questions?

Re: SKITTLES – My whole point, beginning at post 1101, was that I was 'peeping' on the conversation between you, squirrel and Minx last night. I knew that you and Minx shared opposite points of views, regarding politics…which was absolutely fine, in my book. A good, healthy discussion can be a phenomenal thing. I thoroughly enjoyed the thoughts and comments.
But, then… when I logged on here, late this afternoon, I noticed that you were taking 'pot shots' at another Obama supporter (which you never did last night, to Minx). And, might I add, you were not offering 'constructive criticism', to them. You weren't being OVERLY abusive, but…you were hovering right over the borderline. What I found 'obnoxious and belligerent', though…was that you were being more offensive because they weren't answering your questions. Re: SKITTLES – Well, if I didn't have family, friends and organizations (that I donate my time to) who asked me for my thoughts, advice and ideas…I would probably say 'yes, my credibility is shot'.
But, considering that I came up with ideas that resulted in hundreds of thousands of dollars for organizations, great financial advice for my family (which made them financially set, for life) and I have more friends than a person can ever hope to have…..go ahead and say that my 'credibility is shot'. My life is quite full.

I'm sure you know that there is no medical procedure called partial birth abortion,that name was given to late term abortions by the nutcases that hold up pictures of aborted fetuses in front of medical clinics. So the procedure you are referencing is late term abortions which are only used to save the life of the mother,and I think thats a life worth saving ,how about you?
Re: SKITTLES – As do I. I think the reason I'm having so much trouble deciphering Obama's position is his defense of his vote, or rather non vote, and the issue itself. I can understand if he is opposing it because it is a flawed law that'll open up a can of worms, but on the other hand I just find the whole thing reprehensible. I think the only way I can make an unbiased judgment is by reading the supreme court ruling and the law (I don't think I'm using the right word there whatsoever, I'm just tired!) itself. As I'm not a law student, I've got no idea how to go about doing that. Do you?

To put it in perspective:
She was mayor of a town of 6000 people.
She is the 1st term (less than a full term so far) governor of Alaska, a state that has fewer than 700,000 people.
She is being investigated by a Republican-led state congress, which may lead to impeachment, per Alaskan reports.
So…..besides the fact that her own Republican party members are investigating her, the entire state that she's governor of is smaller than many US cities:
NYC has 26 times the population of Alaska.
LA has 25 times the population of Alaska.
Chicago has 14 times the population of Alaska.
Dallas-Fort Worth has 9 times the population of Alaska.
Even podunk Phoenix–McCain's stomping ground–has 6 times the population of Alaska.
Nothing wrong with Alaska folks, but let's all agree that being governor of Alaska is a MUCH smaller job than being mayor of any of these cities. It doesn't seem possible to prepare one to lead the U.S. of A., especially when Bush & co. have damaged our reputation so badly. We need leaders who can communicate and collaborate without ticking off their own party members so badly that they want to impeach! How can such a combative person change anything when she raises so much ill-will among her fellow Republicans. Take a hint from Alaska Republican lawmakers.

In my state you can’t abort after 16 weeks I do believe, I know someone who went to Atlanta almost 20 years ago to have an abortion at almost 6 months to say what happen was something out of a horror film would not give it justice…DISGUSTING
Re: knowitall – yes, of course it's worth saving. It'd be too much to work to go back and look at my stated position of abortion, but suffice it to say I am pro-choice when it comes to the skinny. My concerns on this issue is the possibility of a child surviving a late term abortion. It's happened. I think, but don't quote me, it came to a head when a nurse realized a child had survived and it was left to die in a closet. It's a hard choice for any woman to make, even if it's to save her own life. I hope i'm never in that position. I need to do research on the procedure itself, and if it's done only to save the mothers life because a cesarean cannot be performed. But I am completely against a late term abortion if it's simply an unwanted pregnancy.

I am not trying to cause animosity with you, and it REALLY was not my intent with Skittles….but, with age, comes maturity. With maturity, comes wisdom…and, somewhere along that line, comes the ability to see idiotic posts, and the ability to bypass them.
With all due respect, most comments, made on this site, are governed by emotion, and LESS by fact…so, I can't see that as being an excuse.
If more people would react more to intelligent posts, and less to those who are just looking for a response….it would cause a helluva lot less problems.

Which is why I questioned you about your disagreements with skittles, because I have found her comments on the whole to be intelligent, something extraordinarily rare here. Truth be told, the only reason I still come on this site is because of the commentators and the ignorance the bulk of them throw out there. From what I can tell, it's not so much he's against trying to save the child's life, but because of the wording of the act it can hinge upon womens rights. Which is why i want to see the ruling and the act itself in it's entirety. Though as you can no doubt tell I'm no where near done my research and deciding if it's flip-flopping, spin doctoring, or whatever. Some people will find me silly for thinking this a deal breaker in my support, but because of the subject and the implications it has towards future actions and promises, it very well may be. I think the whole Ayers business is a crock of shit, but this has so many levels and layers that I won't know what to believe until I have straight facts. I want to believe in this man, but after all these debates I'm having doubts as to information I didn't have before, and facts I don't have now

Funny, when I was a Corporal (E-4 USMC) I was in charge of a fire team, 4 people including myself. Small unit leadership is vital in developing your leadership skills. As I gained rank I began to lead more and more people. Leadership experience is not gauged by the number of people you lead. She was still the mayor and now a governor. Those two positions make daily decisions. Senators really only head committees. In fact the committee that Senator Obama heads has never even met. He's been on the campaign trail longer than he's been at work in the Senate, 143 days i believe.

For the good of mankind, yes. If every other way has been exhausted, yes. If every possibility has been contemplated and considered, yes. If it's going to save lives or our country, then yes. For example, I think drilling in ANWAR would be beneficial for the country. When president Bush lifted the ban on offshore drilling gas prices began to drop. Where I live they were $4.65 a gallon. Since the announcement, $3.80, and going down. Everyone keeps saying how huge Alaska is, nobody lives there, well then, let's drill there. Alaska was originally purchased for it's resources, let's use those resources. I'm all for alternative energy too, but we also need to get away from Middle Eastern Oil.

There was no intention to interfere with a women's right to an abortion. Obama's own statements regarding his opposition are vague and do not provide a reasonable explanation for his actions.
