American politics is generally laughable. I was Barack accept the democratic nomination yesterday and all the BS that came before was pretty annoying.
So far from my view of what's being shown is that it's more of a soap opera rather than the best leader putting their foot forward. I wouldn't be surprised if tomorrow John McCain's secret evil twin brother Jim will come forward and he'll twirl his mustache menacingly in the background.
In four years they should just have the presidential hopefuls as new McDonald's toys, or have them on the latest episode of The Hills, or AMNTM.
Does it matter anyways, all your votes are done electronically and will probably be hacked into and changed without your knowledge.
This is such a pathetic tactic by Mccain. As a woman, I'm insulted that he would even think that having a female VP is enough to make me vote for him.
People are commenting about her "inexperience"…well, she is running for VICE president. I mean because Obama has such vast experience and is running for PRESIDENT…oh wait….

Very impressed with Sarah. I was not a supporter of McCain, but this showed he is willing to buck the party because he selected a true maverick. Love the choice.
Barack Obama =Community organizer and a 120 days in the senate. no executive expierence
Palin= Mayor and Gov of Alaska. Plus she runs the natinal guard and in in charge of one of the biggest Domestic Oil commities . She has executive expierence and Osama has none.. She has the higest rating of approval of any GOV in US history. She has fought the corrupt oil compnays and WON.

I think people need to do a need to do their own research rather than just listen to the media. As for Palin's experience, she was a mayor and a governor in her home state before accepting the VP nomination. Experience running at the local level gives you much more credibility than a few years as a senator. As for hating polar bears??? Please, liberals need to get a clue. Unless you want to keep paying outrageous energy prices and continue to be dependent upon the dictatorial govt in Venezuala and the Islamic fascists in the Middle East who disrupted this countries equilibrium on 9/11, then we need to drill in Anwar and be confident in the technology to do it safely and responsibly. Then you will have more money to buy your Choos.
Obama and Palin have relatively the same experience on a statewide level. Palin's experience is in the Executive branch, the same branch as the POTUS and VP. Obama's experience lies in the Legislative branch, completely different ball game.
Both are inexperienced but Obama is running for President and Palin is running for VP. There is a teacher/student curve here. On the Republican ticket McCain is the teacher and Palin is the student. On the Democratic ticket, Obama is the student and Biden is the teacher.
Should something happen to McCain not only does Palin bring with her Executive experience but also the experience of being the Vice President of the United States. Obama only brings his student credentials for the top spot.
I'm voting for McCain/Palin.

i could care less what "skeletons" perez wants to report about Sarah Palin. She seems like an incredibly talented and intelligent woman who is a hard worker. I think it's important for the role of women to change- we can have families but have successful careers at the same time. she is driven and dedicated- you can't say too much bad stuff about a woman who knew in her pregnancy that her child would have downs, and she faced it with a lot of courage.

Became friends with William Ayers, a known domestic terrorist, has conducted business deals with a known Chicago slum lord, and has only shown up to work at the senate for a total of 143 days. He's spent more time on the campaign trail running for president than he has at the senate. The committee he heads has never even had one meeting.

Who can SPEAK to the American people in a way that WE WILL FUCKING LISTEN! Like him or not, Obama's the best we've got, the best we've had for generations, and regardless of POLITICS he's got my vote.

When our country decided to go to war I think I'm the only person I know personally who had serious misgivings about a decision that was so obviously based on emotion and opportunity. The thing I think I made most clear is my disgust with our government period. We have extremely limited choices in representation, none of them smear-proof (then again, who among us are?), and to me Obama is the best candidate. As for Biden, I need to do some more serious research there as well. What I know of so far, he's not the worst (or in my opinion best) choice for VICE president. (I do think he provides a balance with Obama (think lady liberty), which is something almost unheard of in these elections) And as Obama seems to be in perfect health, as long as no one succeeds in making the man a martyr, I'm still okay with voting for him.

I have been reading this crap for a long time for entertainment purposes and distraction from a hectic life. I am avidly polictical and involved. I have not been this excited about a republican for a long time. Not only do I agree with everything this woman spoke of today I am also the mother of an 11 year down syndrome child who is the love of my life. I love how the feminists are already attacking her ability to take care of her baby when she would have such a hectic job. Isn't it their view that women should be able to do it all. Their problem is that she also has a man she loves of 20 years and in all acutallity does have it all and they don't like it. Or is it that they think she should have murdered this child. In my state of Nebraska when I was pregnant with my next child (yes I actually wanted another child after having a down syndrome child) and asked for amniocencis my ob stated he does not perform abortion as opposed to her doctor that tried to talk her into an abortion (murder). Look, i'm a McCain supported. I heard Obama's speach and it sounded great, but can he really deliver on a lot of those promises? Tax cuts for 95% of Americans, free health care, etc.. It all sounded great, but where is all of this money coming from? He said he wouldn't raise taxes. Like I said, I'm a Republican, but I'll be voting for the candidate i think is the best. That is why they fight for mother's right's in the work place, like flex-time. I am a mother of 2 (scientist with a chemistry degree from a UC) who works part-time because my kids are only 2 and 4 years of age, and need my care and attention at this time in their lives. I can't imagine working full time and parenting 5 kids, one that is a special needs infant. The mother does the brunt of the work, any woman with kids knows this. Had he been running against Kerry there is no question as to whom I would have voted for. But there are some serious blunders in his record that I'm not okay with, bad decisions that though he owns up too, I cannot let go of. Maybe a part of it (okay, a huge part of it), has to do with my absolute disgust with the current administration. (I'd love your opinion on that).

I stayed home with my children until they entered school and only went back to work full time 3 months ago. But Gov Palin has a husband and teenage daughters that are involved in the babys life which is more than I had with daughter who is more than flourishing. She goes to public school w/her sister and reads and writes and interacts on a daily basis with her so called "normal" peers and is quite well adjusted. So I can only imagine that a woman such as this with all that she has acomplished and with her support system (which i have none of - no family no father help and make little money w/o welfare) will more than meet the needs of her little angel.
