I'm floored. Honestly, because of this decision to run with Sarah Palin by McCain, I am motivated to question other decisions he may make. My choice never was influenced by black or white, male or female, it boils down to what will be best for our nation. It's very upsetting to read a story like that because everything appears to be so shady. Of course there are explanations, but if that has an ounce of truth to that, which I believe it does, I want nothing to do with the duo of McCain and Palin being in office. Re: Ash7586 – Perhaps I should clarify. Babies can be, and often are, born days after amniotic fluid starts to leak. And, true, it does increase the risk of infection, but if a woman is leaking amniotic fluid a drop at a time and not in some huge gush like people see in movies, she more than likely would have time to make it home to her own doctor. If she was predisposed to a premature delivery (which she more than likely would be at age 44), odds are she would have been given steroids for the baby's lungs already. Beyond that, after 34 weeks, the vast majority of infants have the lung maturity to breathe on their own in the world with no ventilator. So, I suppose I used the wrong term when I said that babies at 34 weeks are not considered premature, and thank you for correcting that.
I don't know if this story is true or not; my main point was that a lot of this doesn't make sense. For example, why would she make up a story about leaking amniotic fluid if she could have just flown home and then said she went into labor the next day and delivered the baby? I have no loyalty to her or the Republican party, believe me, but something about the story doesn't sit right with me.
Does ANYBODY remember an article in (I swear it was) People magazine a few months back about Sarah Palin? It would have been after Trig was born. When I heard she was McCain's pick I commented to my husband about her being the one who had recently had a baby with Down's Syndrome & I recall reading in a magazine recently. I'm floored. Honestly, because of this decision to run with Sarah Palin by McCain, I am motivated to question other decisions he may make. My choice never was influenced by black or white, male or female, it boils down to what will be best for our nation. It's very upsetting to read a story like that because everything appears to be so shady. Of course there are explanations, but if that has an ounce of truth to that, which I believe it does, I want nothing to do with the duo of McCain and Palin being in office. Re: Ash7586 – Perhaps I should clarify. Babies can be, and often are, born days after amniotic fluid starts to leak. And, true, it does increase the risk of infection, but if a woman is leaking amniotic fluid a drop at a time and not in some huge gush like people see in movies, she more than likely would have time to make it home to her own doctor. If she was predisposed to a premature delivery (which she more than likely would be at age 44), odds are she would have been given steroids for the baby's lungs already. Beyond that, after 34 weeks, the vast majority of infants have the lung maturity to breathe on their own in the world with no ventilator. So, I suppose I used the wrong term when I said that babies at 34 weeks are not considered premature, and thank you for correcting that.
I don't know if this story is true or not; my main point was that a lot of this doesn't make sense. For example, why would she make up a story about leaking amniotic fluid if she could have just flown home and then said she went into labor the next day and delivered the baby? I have no loyalty to her or the Republican party, believe me, but something about the story doesn't sit right with me.
Does ANYBODY remember an article in (I swear it was) People magazine a few months back about Sarah Palin? It would have been after Trig was born. When I heard she was McCain's pick I commented to my husband about her being the one who had recently had a baby with Down's Syndrome & I recall reading in a magazine recently. And as for the not showing, I was 8 and 9 months pregnant and I was barely showing. I looked like I was about 3 or 4 months pregnant. Not every pregnancy is the same. Every body is different. Whether this rumor is true or not, her choices in her late pregnancy were completely irresponsible, especially for someone who is so adamantly pro-life! Traveling on a plane to a destination 8 hours away when you're 8 months pregnant isn't the smartest choice. But when she started leaking amniotic fluid, insisted upon making that "important" speech and then make the flight back to Alaska? The woman should have gone to the hospital immediately! Did she know before her son was born that he had Downs? Children with Downs very often have other serious health issues that require specialized care. I feel sad for her daughter that her mother's political career is more important than her and her baby. its shit like this that makes me value women's right to choice, and I feel sorry for this girl who probably felt she had no choice at all.
It makes sense for her to want to make her daughter's teenage pregnancy private but to twist it like that is messed up!!! No one should be made to feel ashamed or feel as if they have to cover up such an important part of their lives for the mother's reputation.
Teenage pregnancy is, in most cases, NOT a reflection on the parents! But the way she is trying to cover up for her daughter..its difficult to decide whether it's noble in one sense or sickening in another =/

1. Palin will resign to deal with her “family issues”
2. we will find out that the first baby is her daughter’s also and she got pregnant again
3. her daughter will mysteriously lose the baby (or mysteriously give it up for adoption) since she’s not really pregnant but is still overweight from her first (real) pregnancy.

Well, this can NOT be true since her daugter is actually 5 months pregnant NOW so she couldn´t have had a baby 4 months ago.
Totally irresponsible. Gov. Palin should have kept her daughter locked in a dungeon till she was 21.
to all of you who don't care about politics, and the vote, and who becomes the leader of the free world….wake up you fucking idiots. its people like you who simply dismiss stories like this and others because they are political…your the ones who voted bush into office. wake up, learn what voting is about and learn about the candidates, and when it comes time to vote - do so as and educated person and maybe just maybe we can save ourselves from bush number two. remember, many people fought and died for our rght to vote - don't treat it like a retarded cousin your ashamed of.
