I do think that the size of not only the population of Alaska, but also the resulting funding size really does limit the scope of her resume. Her state doesn't even have a million people! She was mayor the town had around 8,000 people in it. Has anyone ever been in a town of 8,000 people? Seriously? I have. It was very, very, very small. Small numbers of people mean small budgets to deal with.
I think over all, this might not be a bad pick for him, but honestly I was more scared of Romney or Lieberman. I think it is interesting he chose social issues over major issues. She does fall in lock step with the base on things like abortion, creationism, etc. I was just thinking he would pick someone who is stronger in matters of economy…or even had dealt with budgets that affected more than 700,000 people.

She’s implemented and ran a state budget, made noticeable reforms, created tax rebates, dealt with improve education, helped solve safety and security issues, increased work in the state’s job market, ran Alaska’s National Guard, and other things a leader of a city and/or state are responsible for. Mayors and governors lead thousands of people. Palin is qualified!

Let's see, if after one year in politics as a senator, a black man decides to run for president, he is like JFK and Martin Luther King rolled into one.
