Oprah's Mom In Trouble!

Here's someone you don't often hear about getting into any financial trouble.
It's Oprah Winfrey. Well, more specifically it's Oprah's momma, Vernita Lee.
Turns out Vernita owes over $150,000 to a high-end fashion store in Wisconsin and they're suing her!
Apparently, Oprah's mom has been enjoying private showings, special delivery services, and perks from the store.
She also had an open-ended charge account with the store, Valentina Inc., since January 2004.
Well, according to the lawsuit, Vernita owes a bill of $155,547.31 in purchases and interests as of July 1st. She was required to make a minimum monthly payment of $2,000 to the store.
You'd think she'd pay up or maybe ask her billionaire daughter for a small gift or loan?
Instead, she's opted to hire three attorneys to prove she doesn't owe the bill.
Won't those three attorney's end up costing more than the bill? We hope she's right about not owing the money.
However, Joseph Niebler, Sr., the attorney for Valentina, says that at some point Vernita stopped making the monthly payments.
He adds that they tried to resolve the bill before filing a lawsuit, but nothing was resolved.
Niebler says, "There isn't any ill will, it's a matter of contract."
As for Vernita, she was reached by phone but declined to comment.
Vernita now has until a September 19th hearing to answer the complaint.

I don't feel sorry for ANYONE who refuses to pay for what they receive. It is because of the 'rich folk', who refuse to pay for the services and products, that they receive…that caused the bankruptcy, foreclosure and bank loan problem, in this country. And, I am tired of it. There are MANY families, in my area, who are facing foreclosure…because companies and the wealthiest people in the US can not/will not pay their bills.
And, yet…I am accused of 'patting myself on the back' because my home/auto is paid off, my child is well-fed, well-clothed, well-schooled, and my bills are paid, in full, each month. The commentator who accuses me of that…can kiss my ever-lovin' US ass! It's not MY fault that you get stuck with interest fees, late payments and maintenance fees…and, I'll be damned if I will feel guilty, for what YOU can't pay. Yeah, Skittles, that's for you.
Or maybe she can have her mom be a house keeper like you do Perez..that sounds like a great idea!!!

After writing on a previous post about andyaber and his friends, I said they lacked self-respect, and then I started thinking that this person is to be pitied.
What a horrible childhood he must have had, his parents probably beat him sensless, and most likely there was abuse of other kinds. Someone so pathetic had to have had an horrible life, so I will try my hardest to just not read his comments or to not comment on them myself, I do not want to add to this troubled young mans woes, lest he moves on to something worse. You now have my sympathy instead of my scorn.
