she gave a great speech and all….lots of bs and high school attempts to attack the dems, but can America really trust a woman who wears clip on earrings???? COME ON PEOPLE!
Re: goodgrief – Obviously you haven't seen any of the other speeches about his time as a POW. The reason he looks like he has osteoperosis is because his arms were broken multiple times and never set by his torturers. He can't lift his arms above his shoulders because of it.
She is incredibly well spoken, but her issues are close minded and disappointing. She has done a lot of great things for Alaska, but they have the most expensive gas in the US at 4.44 I just don't see how she is experienced enough. Especially since John Mccain probably won't make it long!

Re: torrrieB – Actually, there were 3 African Americans in the Texas delegation (two men and one woman). So even you're wrong. Maybe you should take your own advice and watch it again. Besides just because the cameras didn't go out of their way to show off every single African American, Asian, Hispanic, etc. doesn't mean there aren't plenty that are Republicans.
Yeah, she sucks. Didn't like her before the speech. Heard the speech was inspiring. Watched the speech. Want to get sick over the speech. The speech was not as great as people say. She is not VP material and totally lost my attention on anything John McCain will have to say. She has helped me make a very important decision. I don't think Johnny boy will be too happy with it. Oh well. Stupid choice on his part.

Thank you so much Perez for saying she did a good job. You are a great example of someone that disagrees with opinions, but can still be complimentary. That is why this nation is so great, we have two ways of thinking, two philosophies, and a vigorous debate about both which brings about (usually) better policies. I have never understood why people HATE those that have a different political opinon. Being Republican doesn't make you an elitist, ignorant gun-toting racist, and being a liberal doesn't make you an anti-family, freeloading aetheist that wants to completely change the country. It is ok to differ in opinion and it's ok to talk about it without thinking one or the other side is stupid. Just different ways of viewing the world.

As all the ladies sit and praise this woman for making so many leaps foward let me remind you of the real issues. The economy is in disarray, our standing in the world is laughable, and we are in a never-ending war that we shouldn't be in in the first place. Now we have this woman who says that her daughter Bristol made the choice to keep her child, when on the other hand she wants to take that choice away from everyone else, "even in event of rape" Think about how far we will be pushed back ladies if you allow the Republican party to win this election. It is entirely too important to get caught up in the BS!!! PAY ATTENTION!!

i really dont like her. i think they could have picked a better women and i really do. you here people talking about how attractive she is but umm should that really matter NO!!!!! most of her speech all she did was criticize and with john mccain being one beat away from a heart attack i would not want her as the first female president. we need a women who is going to look out for women more especially with those who want a right to choose. i think shes a joke and there are plenty of women who would do better than she will do.

There's just one problem with Palin's speech: it had ZERO substance. The Alaskan governor did nothing to detail her credentials; on the contrary, she simply denied claims of her inexperience and retorted not with actual, factual information about her past, but with one-liners and childish zingers aimed at the left. Barbs at Barack and Biden and about a million close-ups of a cheering Cindy McCain are about all that speech had to offer. I especially enjoyed the part where Sarah Palin said that John McCain was the same man all the time. If that is true, I wonder if that means he's the same guy who called his wife a CUNT in front of reporters on the campaign trail in 1992. (Google it–it's true) Hmmm…or maybe she meant the same guy who voted WITH George W. Bush a whopping 90% of the time…
I also think it's funny that people are fully embracing someone whom they've known for about a cup of coffee with no idea of who she really is or what she stands for. Palin believes in scrapping the teaching of the theory of evolution and substituting the notion of "creationism" exclusively in public schools. She won't support sex ed in schools, and believes that abstinence is all that kids should learn about safe sex practices. (Which obviously worked oh-so-well for herself and her daughter, both enjoying shotgun weddings before even having the right to vote.) Palin's idea of foreign policy experience is living in the state closest in proximity to Russia. Oh, and her husband Todd is a member of the Alaskan Independent party, which is a huge proponent of secession from the United States. (How Un-American is that?!) By the bye, Palin also had the gall to say that she had "more executive experience" than Obama and Joe Biden, which is not only preposterous, but if she really means that, then she must have it in her crazy craw that she's got more than her running mate, too.
PS–Joe Biden is going to eat her for lunch.

I don't get it- everyone is impressed that what, she can complete a sentence and speak? Where do I even begin? Not only should he have retired, like, what? 100 years ago? But whenever he opens his mouth I can't understand much and he speaks like my grandma does whenever she's high on her medication.
I'm not saying that Obama and Biden are perfect, but I can at least have some trust in them to run a country. They just look and sound more able than the other duo, period. And don't tell me you can't see that.

i have yet to see one black american or hispanic american for sarah palins speech in this video or for that matter even wanting to vote for her or mccain out and about in my city's of miami fl. and hollywood ca. … i will give her this though she is the best public speaker i have ever come across but it still doesnt make her a better candidate.. my opinion about her and mccain is very simple and it that they put them selfs on a morel petistul so high they really for get the big picture like gay rights and deniying rights for the immigrants and the list goes on…. mind you im not gay but i have a lot of friends who are and my father is an immigrant who has made a name for him self as a criminal defence lawyer protecting the wrongfully accused plus even if you are full on american does not mean that you werent an immigrant at one point in history …. if you remember your school teachers indians were the first to be here so that means that americans are also immigrants ….it shouldnt be just about gas prices and war and calling out the political partys thats are against there views its also not about one state or five states its about all of us and thats why im voting for obama for my moma ….. you dont have to like what i wrote or agree but its my free speech to place my comment peace out have a great one
i dont believe anything either of them says..they can try to slam Barack all they want, it just makes them look idiotic. She is very much into the energy crisis. She makes things happen. She is a far better speaker than Obama and she has far more experience than Obama. Obama speaks in platitudes. It sickens me that the Obama supporters are okay with his plans to increase income taxes, death taxes. It is so sickening that all of the hard working people struggling to make ends meet have to continually shell out more and more during these tough times, and yet Obama wants to take more. That is BS…as a military wife, I know about military service and all I get from that is that he knows how to "hurry up and wait" and how to take orders. It's more of the same.
