You know you've made it big when others start making covers of your songs. But this remix is a bit different.
It seems that the people at a church in Blacklick, Ohio, aren't too thrilled with Katy Perry's catchy I Kissed A Girl song.
So…..they've decided to change it up a bit.
The Havens Corners Church now has a sign outside with the new lyrics they've added to the song.
It says, "I kissed a girl and I liked it" and adds, "Then I went to hell."
The church pastor, Rev. Dave Allison, says that the sign is intended as "a loving warning to teens" since the Bible states that homosexuality is a sin.
He did admit that the sign has confused some people who don't know the song or get the message.
Guess Katy isn't that big in Ohio.

Why in the world would some omniscient and omnipotent being in the sky put humans on earth simply to judge them? That's sadistic. Also, religious people are either hugely narcissistic or detrimentally weak. Think about it. The Bible says a lot of crazy shit. If you can chalk one thing up to interpretation, then it's all open to interpretation and therefore none of it is "true." "You just have to have faith" is not an answer. Not to mention, the mere fact that there is more than one organized religion makes all organized religion false. If you believe your religion is true and all others false then there is going to be a person who believes that theirs is correct and that yours is false. Neither one of you is more right than the other. They cancel each other out. My "religion" is common sense and courtesy, and that works out well for everyone.

However you can read "Letter To A Christian Nation" by Sam Harris to find the exact passages that back up my arguments. Each and every one of these arguments can be found in the Bible.

I actually live in Columbus and am a proud member of the very large gay community here. Blacklick is part of the outskirts of Columbus (within 10-15 minutes from downtown) Columbus is so split liberal/conservative. I'm sure some are not amused by Katy but the rest of us love her. And, as the Bible says, judgement and vengence is the Lord's… so, Haven's Corner Church can deal with their judgement when they reach their pearly gates. Chances are, they'll be judged just as harshly as they say homosexuals will be judged… as all sin is the same in their Lord's eyes. I grew up in a baptist church and my opinion is this… if you're going to represent a belief, you should do it the right way. You can't pick and choose which parts of the bible you feel like using, as you feel like using them, without being hypocritical at some point.

I think it's sad and unfortunate that some church organizations can be so ignorant.
I am very religious and think it is a shame that was put up by this church. It is not this church's place to judge others. I have had many friends over the years who are gay. I may not agree with their lifestyle, but I don't judge them. I believe that God loves everyone no matter what.

I don't like churches like that. We are not supposed to judge people. If anything that sign is just going to draw attention to the song. No song is going to make a girl kiss a girl unless it appeals to her. To each his own. I don't judge gays but I notice that some of them are very judgmental of straight people. They need to mind their own business too. The stuff they heard might not even be true but you can tell just by looking at them that the rumors about them ARE true.
I don't understand why these Christians have to judge everyone. Like they are so high and mighty. Aren't you Christians not supposed to judge people. Only "God" is supposed to that. I am from Blacklick and saw the sign, emailed the pastor and emailed everyone I knew to email the pastor. This is pure discrimination, blacklick is not some redneck town we are a suburb of Columbus Ohio which has a huge gay community, their are alot of gay families in blacklick. I am very proud of our community because we do not tolerate discrimination and fought back, we are loosing way to many teens to suicide due to churches like this one who teach hate. We do also have many accepting churches that love, accept and support the gay community and they to will not tolerate this type of discrimination and hate. I personally believe in a loving god who created us just as we are.

To that I want to add that most of the people that like to quote the bible, have no idea how the bible came to be.
Though the authors of the many books in the bible were divinely inspired, the bible was NOT written by God himself. In fact, not even in the New Testament, which is part of the "new covenant" between men and God is anything written by Jesus either. Truth is that the bible is a compilation of excerpts from different books that were written. There are hundreds of years difference between some books. Not only are there things missing from the bible, but these documents have been translated many, many times. Biliteral people know that things can be lost in translation.
I'm no Atheist, but I also do not subscribe to a particular religion. However, I do understand what it was that Jesus (if he did exist) was trying to say. To love and to be loved is something every human being aspires to. Gender should NOT be a hinderance. Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, Transgender or what not… people should be able to love whom they will. Love is love.

What do I think of the message? I think its just the hatemongering of Organized religion trying to destroy the world because they can't get their heads out of their antiquated (and most likely mistranslated since its been translated who knows how many times) book known as the Bible. I have to look at a dumb sign up the road from my road where i live they put some really weird things on it one time it said if the devil rides with you he will begin to drive to. i thought this was funny where were you on sunday will you be in heaven are hell on sunday. I live in the deep south Atlanta so its very religious here i know most of you live in los angeles so it pretty conservative there all of you are so lucky to live there.
