Going To Hell!
Filed under: Gay Gay Gay > Katy Perry
You know you've made it big when others start making covers of your songs. But this remix is a bit different.
It seems that the people at a church in Blacklick, Ohio, aren't too thrilled with Katy Perry's catchy I Kissed A Girl song.
So…..they've decided to change it up a bit.
The Havens Corners Church now has a sign outside with the new lyrics they've added to the song.
It says, "I kissed a girl and I liked it" and adds, "Then I went to hell."
The church pastor, Rev. Dave Allison, says that the sign is intended as "a loving warning to teens" since the Bible states that homosexuality is a sin.
He did admit that the sign has confused some people who don't know the song or get the message.
Guess Katy isn't that big in Ohio.
What do U think of the message?

God loves everyone and it makes christians look like they are judging which if you are a true christian you know its not your place it's Gods.
typical. judge away and think you're holier than everyone else because you go to church and believe in some book. this is why i stopped calling myself a Christian. i refuse to be lumped in with people like this Rev.
Re: ERRRBOOO – to the extreme?? ohhh ma ga!! that was like sooooo profound…you're a useless waste of space-
I don't subscribe to that faith but heard about this zinger on the radio (the singage). It made me laugh and feel sorry for those who are full of such fear.
hahahahhaha.. i think its funny…
HAHAHAHAHAA!!!! I go to a Catholic College and still think that's ridiculous! Wow…
hey,i have nothing against being gay..i'm a christain and i believe in loving anyone but it blatnatly states more than once in the bible that being gay is a sin… its what the religion states…it is like saying i am a vegetarian but i'll just eat lamb… saying commiting adultery is right or i am muslim but praying 5times a day is wrong? if u want to be gay be gay but don't then say as a christain its right because arccording to that religion it is wrong..so u shouldn't then blame a pastor for saying what his religion tells him to believe.. it says in the bible that as A CHRISTAIN UR NOT ALLOWED TO BE GAY!! if u don't like it tough…change ur religion..
oh yeah and u make not like it but please have respect for my religion and my God…
you know what? i'd just leaver her alone. the song is good!
the pastors say homosexuality is a sin
yet they are involved in the gay sex scandals
i believe god loves all of us
saying stuff like that wil get you to hell
organized religion is the root of all evil, not gay kissing
i love that song.. screw them haterz its just a song.. smh
sounds like someone has way too much time on their hands… plus, just because the song is about a girl kissing a girl doesn't make anyone homosexual. stick to what you know, reverand dave.
haha. omg. i can't believe i've seen this news story like 10 times today!!
i saw a picture of the sign that someone had made into a bumper sticker on facebook and assumed it was just one of those fake church signs, then i noticed what church it was and googled it to find out it was true!!
aye yay aye. haha. my grandpa built haven's corners church in blacklick when my mom was just a little kid and he used to be the pastor there before he passed away. my parents were married there and that's where i was christened. jesus christ. i can't believe this.
i'm so glad i decided to be an atheist.
not that it matters only like 400 people live in blacklick.
most christians seem to forget that no sin is greater than the other and all sins can be forgiven. so…yeah… i'm sure most christians have lied in their lives, pretty much everyone has at some point, and that's a sin, so i guess we're all going to hell.
wow…..
Yeah… and the church is standing in a town called BLACK LICK !?!? That's not perverted at all!
I live about 20 minutes away from this church, and just want to say that yes, Ohio LOVES KATY PERRY. This church is actually four or five miles from Columbus, which is the 2nd highest gay population city after San Francisco. So the Havens Corner Church obviously isn't making an impression on Columbus' gay population. Girls kiss Girls and LIKE IT!
I don't agree with what the song says and all but i love the song and they need to shutup…..That is one screwed up church. god loves u all equally even if you are gay and everyone sins…now matter what the degree everyone does………………ALOT!!! SO SHUTUP YOU EFFING CHURCH!!!
Re: Audgxoxo – RIGHT ON!!!
Re: maui2vail – LOL
As usual…organized religion rears it's ugly head as the intolerant hypocritical bunch of bozos that it really is.
Without religions hating on everyone else that isn't THEM, and killing in the name of their "god"…the world would be a MUCH better place WITHOUT religion and the zealots that are endemic to the whole lot of them!!
OMFG, its a free world, that priest is such a fucking loser.
what a racist
This church is right down the street from my house… and i WISH i woulda seen this sign when it was up cause i woulda gotten my ex gf and made out in front of the sign. people are so simple minded nowadays when it comes to songs and the way we want to live our lives….
I KISSED A GIRL AND I LOVE IT !!!
THAT THERE FUCKEN STUPID
I have lived in all parts of Ohio. I lived in Columbus for several years and it's by far my favourite part of Ohio. I have read the Bible, am very familiar with all the mumbo jumbo the evangelical "Christians" (I use the term loosely) espouse to further their agendas, because let's face it, that's all it is anymore, an agenda. I am an agnostic. Blacklick is a small town in the suburbs of Columbus, and as stated many times, Cols., is home to the second largest gay population in the country. My times in Columbus, and especially with my gay friends, are some of the best I've ever had. I have a good friend in a national act band who will tell anyone who listens that he LOVES Cols. for it's open-minded, "chill" vibe. This sign is reprehensible. I saw today it was covered in pro-homosexuality graffiti. Yes, there are better ways to get gay acceptance across, but I have to admit, I smiled like a fool and thought to myself, "Nicely done." I don't like the song, but I've read interviews where Perry says the song is not advocating homosexuality. Before anyone, for any cause, resorts to using fear to try to persuade others to adopt their ideals and views, perhaps they should consider that the fear will only push those who are capable of thinking for themselves even further away. Is it any wonder the Church is losing members in droves?
actually it depends what people think of hell…
How funny. That really is ridiculous. Im so glad im not that stupid.
They only brought more attention to the song, and most of the church members have probably never heard this song before. Its just another church that believes sin can keep you out of Heaven, but if that were true no one would make it past the gates. Your Faith is what gives you your salvation, not the things you do.
