But, at the end of the day I have to sit down at my kitchen table and figure out how I am going to put food on the table, pay my bills, put gas in my car and hope I do not get sick as I cannot afford too. I have not heard one word offered on stage at the Republican convention that addresses the issues I face at the end of every day at my kitchen table. But with that giant American flag waving behind their podium every night, why would they even care about me and all the other millions of Americans sitting at our kitchen tables staring at our pay stubs?

The ticket could never be Obama?Clinton. They DISPISE each other. McCain made a calculated choice. Clinton has her own agenda, and getting Obama elected is not a priority with her. She has her eye on a much bigger prize. As for flip flopping, Obama today is saying that the surge in Iraq is a huge success. This after two weeks ago saying that Iraq was lost and there was no hope there. I have to sit down and feed my family and pay my bills just like everybody else does. Obama is not going to help me do that. Obama does not care about the middle class. Don't kid yourself. I think the debates will be very interesting.

I'm not discussing whether Obama/Clinton would have been a possibility, I'm discussing how McCain picked his VP. He should have decided on the best candidate from a pool of candidates: Who is the best candidate? X or Y or Z? The choice of Palin clearly indicates that that was not the case. In fact, McCain selected who's best for himself (after the Binden was announced as VP by the Dems) instead of who's best for America. In other words: If the Dems VP pick is candidate A, then McCain picks X as his VP … if the Dems pick B, McCain picks Y and if the Dems pick C, McCain picks Z. "Country first" my ass. Palin is NOT the best choice for VP; it's McCain's choice to get elected … and don't tell me it doesn't matter as long as McCain is elected president.

The Army says this year's suicide total among soldiers could reach 130, out of a force of about a million and a half. That would be an increase of more than 10 percent over last year and it would bring the Army above the overall suicide rate for the United States, as adjusted to reflect the Army's demographics.

I do not believe that Obama made the best choice. Palin may be the best choice for McCain right now. There are a lot of people that can bring to her ticket. It also goes along with McCain's "maverick" reputation. Every move by both candidates is calculated. Again, I am waiting for the debates. I want both men to move away from all of the grand standing and get to the issues and problems that people are concerned with.

Tonight, I am so proud to be a Democrat. I was so impressed by the bravery and restraint of the protesters who tried to disrupt the ominous march of Republican totalitarianism. Those heroes must have had to sit through, minutes if not hours of right-wing bullshit before they finally decided to silence evil. When I came to this country, I was moved by the eloquence of throwing feces, destroying property, and calling their enemies racist or sexist that inspired me to join the Democratic movement.
