McCain On Top - Score One For Johnny!
Filed under: Politik > Barack Obama > John McCain > Sarah Palin
Presidential hopeful John McCain is beating out Barack Obama in popularity.
McCain's acceptance speech at the Republican National Convention actually received more television viewers than Obama did last week at the Democratic party's event.
According to preliminary data from the Nielsen Media Research, McCain's speech on Thursday ended the night with a 4.8 rating/7 share, as opposed to Obama's 4.3 /7 average.
We wonder if once all the data comes in, if the numbers will change, but as of right now it seems more people are tuning in to watch McCain.
And according to reports, McCain's speech pulled in over 26% more viewer's than Obama's did.
Do U think McCain is a great speaker? Were you inspired by his words???
Update: It's confirmed.
Obama got beat by McCain in the TV ratings!
A record 38.9 million U.S. TV viewers watched John McCain accept the Republican nomination for president on Thursday, slightly more than the 38.3 million people who tuned in for Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama's speech, Nielsen Media Research reported.
Congrats!

Re: leopard –
Well, then how do you explain me. Everyone I know is voting for McCain, including myself. Nobody I know owns a gun, nobody I know goes to church on a regular basis, nobody I know has had an unwanted pregnancy, therefore no abortion………
yeah, I'm one of the people that watched it,to see what he said. He lost me in the first couple of minutes,& it got worse from there! Our country needs change!!! VOTE OBAMA!!!!!
I didn't watch either, but I'll be voting, that's for sure. If mccain wins, I need to find a new country to move to.
I was falling asleep. Obama did a MUCH better job.
sorry if this makes me sound like a bitch, but it makes perfect sense that mccain would have more viewers. I feel as though mccain got a higher rating because obviously the republicans were excited to hear him speak, but democrats, such as myself, watched obama and mccain because lets be honest, i wanted to hear what the dinosaur was going to say. Most republicans that ive spoken to (not all, dont get me wrong) want absolutely nothing to do with obama. I asked a lot of them if they were going to watch his acceptance speech, and i pretty much got the "id rather eat dirt" response from all of them. On the other hand when i asked the democratic half of my friends, they said they were definitely going to watch both acceptance speeches just to see what everyone had to say. So yes i just rambled, but all in all, it makes sense to me. Democrats are open to things, Republicans, not so much.
Re: zobiana –
I'm sure Romania would be glad to take you.
That's because all the old GOP folk are the only ones that watch this crap on television. Everyone else watches it on YouTube.
Re: AYOBITCH – it doesnt make you sound like a bitch, but you are classifying millions of people who do not necessarily all hate obama and want nothing to do with him. most republicans are smart and want to hear both sides to the story. obama had WAYYY more television channels, almost double what mccain had and he still beat him out. i think democrats are scared because after sarah kicking major ass, people were determined to see what he would say. so instead of bashing either the republican party and the democrat party, realize that more people wanted to watch mccain because he has a better chance of winning.
Of couse he had ratings - more Dems watched that train wreck than Republicans watched Obama - because Dems are overall more intelligent and keep informed on ALL sides.
Don't these change daily?
personally, McCain wants too be just like his best friend Bush, he wants too keep everything the same, with the war, gas prices && everything Obama is all about change && I think he can fulfill his duties as president. I dont care what anybody else say, its my opinion, build aye bridge and get over it.
I know that I only watched it to see what kind of BS and lies were going to be spat out, which was PLENTY. Get with it people! Do your research on your candidates! We have a world of knowledge right at our fingertips. Do we really want 4 more years of the same shit ran by a new douchebag??
THAT'S ONLY BECAUSE THE REPUBLICANS, ARE LIKE A FREE TRIP TO THE ZOO.
:l
MCMD [99] says "…HOW MANY OTHER AMERICANS HAVE BEEN TO WAR AND ARENT RUNNING FOR PRESIDENT? LOTS, BECAUSE THAT DOESN'T MAKE YOU QUALIFIED.
:l
WELL, MCMD, LET ME ENLIGHTEN YOU TO WHAT DOES MAKE YOU QUALIFIED - IT'S THE QUANTUM OF MONEY THAT CAN BE RAISED BY A WEB OF NETWORKING. TO LAUGH (ha) IS THAT EVEN THE UBER-WEALTHY HILTONS DONATED SEVERAL THOUSAND DOLLARS TO THE REPUBLICAN CAMPAIGN. (THEY REGRET THAT DECISION NOW, BECAUSE THE REPUBLICANS EXPLOITED THEIR DAUGHTER WITH THAT MONEY) BUT, THEY DID NOT DONATE BECAUSE OF THOROUGH AND EXHAUSTIVE RESEARCH - NO NO NO - IT WAS BECAUSE… THEY WERE IN THE WEBBED NETWORK (which is exactly how the system of corruption and abuse is perpetually maintained). hahaha.
By Ret. Col. Earl Hopper :
"The impression that McCain and the media has attempted to portray of McCain's 5 1/2 years as a prisoner of war in North Vietnam is about as far from the truth that one could possible go. McCain, from the first moments of his capture, had behaved as a COLLOBORATOR and propaganda tool for his North Vietnamese captors. McCain had engaged in no less than 30anti-American propaganda broadcasts for Radio Hanoi during the period of his captivity.
-
-Far from the image of a dedicated American "hero" sweating it out in a North Vietnamese prisoner's "hotbox" for 5 1/2 years, McCain was often given "special" treatment by his captors, who were fully aware of his father's and grandfather's 4 star admiral positions with the Navy. No one has ever witnessed McCain's supposed "torture" at the hands of his jailers.
-
-The consensus opinion of other POWs in McCain's camps was that McCain was NEVER tortured by the North Vietnamese."
mccain is a way better choice than obama
i mean we dont need another freakin messiah
we need a president.
obama is a moron and he is a muslim heretic
he wants to pass a law stating that if an abortion is missed, the baby has no right to life. meaning if a mom waits too long in the cycle for an abortion and they dont get the baby and it lives, legally they are required to kill it rather than putting it on life support or whatever and up for adoption.
how fucking sick.
thats not even the half of it.
and we need to be in iraq. we can't let them stomp all over us. if bush hadn't gone into war, he would have gotten hell for not defending our country's honor. bush got put into a bad situation. trying to stop the chaos bill clinton doomed our country to during his presidency. the DEMOCRAT.
so, let me get this straight. does "wanting change" make obama qualified? NO.
john mccain is waaaay more qualified than barack obama.
