Reports surfaced on Friday that there's been 'war' amongst Oprah Winfrey's producers about whether or not to have Republican Vice Presidential candidate Sarah Palin on her popular talk show.
Super O issued the following statement to counter those claims:
"At the beginning of this presidential campaign when I decided that I was going to take my first public stance in support of a candidate (Obama), I made the decision not to use my show as a platform for any of the candidates. I agree that Sarah Palin would be a fantastic interview, and I would love to have her on after the campaign is over. There has been absolutely no discussion about having Sarah Palin on my show."

I think its racist to attack oprah for endorsing a black candidate. How many centuries have blacks endured racism and a racist media in the US? Maybe she feels it is only a black person who can really understand the plight of black people. I'm so glad that Oprah is snobbing Sarah Palin. Oprah, like mainstream media bias, is a great antidote to Republican totalitarianism. We should ignore the hypocrisy of the Democratic brand of totalitarianism but instead focus on its good intentions. Just because Oprah hosted the Obama's before doesn't mean she can't pretend to be non-political all of a sudden. Same thing with the View which co-hosted with Michelle O. Overall, the effect of turning off independents because of our pro-Obama bias is outweighed by the therapeutic benefits of being part of a large movement.

Booking Palin, after having already booked the Obama's earlier would not help dispel these misconceptions. Also, only 10 major networks carried the Dem Convention against 6 for the Rep Convention (BET, Telemundo did not broadcast the RNC). This is prima-facie evidence of bias. 6 networks? Did Fox buy the other 5? Yet the RNC was watched by more people on fewer stations. Real fairness would have required even more networks carrying the DNC and much fewer carrying the RNC to ensure the same viewership, something like maybe 15 stations for Dems against Fox News for Repubs, right? It's clear that big Media, big Hollywood, and obese Perez are not equitably hurting the McCain team. We need more bias from the media, not fairness, to offset the brewing populist revolution.
Michael Moore and big Hollywood supposedly cost Kerry the last election.
