The Palins are soooo the Spears family of Alaska!
Like the Spears, the Palins have a knocked up teenaged daughter.
AND, like the Spears, it looks like the Palins sometimes poo poo the whole notion of child safety seats.
We were shocked to read the following report:
One Friday in June, Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin joined the chief of the state prison system on a tour of the Point MacKenzie Correctional Farm, a 90-minute drive north of Anchorage. It was a routine visit but for the presence of the governor's infant son, Trig.
Palin held her baby in her arms as the warden drove a short distance around the facility, said corrections director Joe Schmidt, who sat next to Palin. A few days later, the governor got a warning from her public safety commissioner that someone had complained that she did not strap Trig into a car seat for the ride. Palin dismissed the complaint as petty, and the commissioner, whom she appointed, took no formal action.

It is scary to think that this woman will be President if Old Man McCain (who has had cancer 4 times) dies. She knows nothing about foreign policy and is totally without any kind of experience that would qualify her to be Vice President. She should go back to Alaska and use her energy to go moose hunting.
Perez is really making more out of this whole thing than is really there! Don't get me wrong, I'm PRObama, but I have to agree that the media (Perez included) are really grasping at straws to discredit her. I'm from Hyde Park and if you want coverage of that stuff b/c Barack was raked over the coals here on these issues visit chicago's suntimes or Tribune websites. Palin has 5 kids- one is in the military (out of the house), one is getting married and living probably in the town where ALL of her family and her husband's family live - having a baby - so , unless she lives in the Palin home, she will be OUT of the house- at least doesn't need to be mommied all the time. So that's two you can't count as needing her constant attention. The next two girls- one is FOURTEEN (old enough to baby sit any other kid anywhere) and one is 7- at school all day. that leaves the down's baby- and he has the 100percent attention of his dad. So technically, she has 3 kids left- one in high school now. Did you need your mommy home with YOU all the time when you were almost 15? Her husband can handle that. No one much gave a crap that RFKennedy ran for president with so many kids I can't count them. You liberals act like fools. One of my friends raised 4 girls and a severely (much worse than down's) handicapped son and she worked running her own store 6 days a week. What is WRONG with you women haters??? Normally, I'd agree, however; I find TWO things wrng with this. First it was NOT a private road and if she was holding her son for the 90 minute trip to the prison facility here in IL she would have been ticketed and arrested for negligence. Secondly, I have no children but NONE of my collegues atake their children to the job and she's visiting a PRISON facility ANYTHING could have happened. If I or any other woman that doesn't have daycare facilities at the office showed up to work with our kids in tow we automatically get put on the mommytrack. Your home and work life needs to be seperate, taking your kid to work outside take your jkid to work day is, in my opinion, unprofessional. That's why the majority of us have our kids in daycare during working hours.

Joe Biden's other problem is that he's an arrogant blowhard, which doesn't make for good debate performances even when facing a less intelligent and skilled opponent. Biden could have a year to prepare and probably still be at a disadvantage. I believe the Obama camp and their media partners are massively underestimating Palin. If I was a Democrat, I would be more worried about the Obama/McCain debates. If you've ever seen Obama talking without a teleprompter and answering unscripted questions, you should know what I mean. I think his campaign knows as well given that they refused McCain's debate challenges after Obama's famous I'll debate McCain "anytime, anywhere" line…

CLEARLY NOT a 90 minute private road if a complaint was placed to the safety commissioner. Also, yes that is negligence if she did not buckle her child and yes she put her child in unecessary danger both in driving and doing an occupied prison tour w/ him. Err on the side of caution when you can is my opinion.

After the Democratic primaries, there are way less registered Republicans than there are Democrats. That's why these states are at play.
Democrats had 40 million voters, a record number, in the Primaries, and are registering more Democrats, day by day.
In the primaries, Republicans in total maybe had 15 million voters come out to the booths. In some states, Obama received more votes than McCain, Romney and Huckabee combined.
I don't see Palin helping with Independents who are mostly men and attracted to Biden.
She might help with old democrats, i.e, Reagan Democrats. But I don't think there are that many anymore, as the numbers from the Primaries showed.
Obama being even in the polls with McCain encourages more voters in the Country to go out and vote, for Obama, out of fear that Palin will be Vice President and that 73 year old McCain will be President. You don't want people comfortable.

The more I read about Palin, the more I wonder how bad Americans have it when it comes to election day. My guess is no, you haven't because otherwise you'd know that your registered party doesn't come into play here; you get a ballot and can vote for whomever you want - all the candidates for President are on that ballot. Operation Chaos worked brilliantly; you are spewing these numbers of Republicans switching over to Democrat during the primaries; that was because of Operation Chaos! They only did that to make the primaries go on further, to have Barry and Hil wear and tear each other down before the Republicans got a hold of them for the fall season. Meanwhile, we all sat back and watched the trainwreck. Don't go getting your sugar walls worked up into a false sense of security, those that switched over will absolutely be voting McCain.
