Another Palin-Spears Connection

Filed under: Icky Icky Poo > Britney Spears > Politik > Sarah Palin

aspearspalin__opt.jpg

The Palins are soooo the Spears family of Alaska!

Like the Spears, the Palins have a knocked up teenaged daughter.

AND, like the Spears, it looks like the Palins sometimes poo poo the whole notion of child safety seats.

We were shocked to read the following report:

One Friday in June, Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin joined the chief of the state prison system on a tour of the Point MacKenzie Correctional Farm, a 90-minute drive north of Anchorage. It was a routine visit but for the presence of the governor's infant son, Trig.

Palin held her baby in her arms as the warden drove a short distance around the facility, said corrections director Joe Schmidt, who sat next to Palin. A few days later, the governor got a warning from her public safety commissioner that someone had complained that she did not strap Trig into a car seat for the ride. Palin dismissed the complaint as petty, and the commissioner, whom she appointed, took no formal action.

Petty?!?!

Someone's concern for Palin's disabled son's life was dismissed by her as petty?!?

Yikes!

Question…..How come when Joe Biden proudly announced that he was a single parent of 2 sons (who lost their mother), rode the train from Delaware to Washington DC, so he could have his Senate career, no one questioned his parental skills? I find it insulting that a woman in a position of power (and who has a husband who helps raise the kids) has her parental skills scrutinized for everything they can dig up but everyone applauds Biden for putting HIS career first over 2 young sons who had to face life without their mother. HYPOCRITES!

Well, considering a liberal, after seeing the results of the genetic testing on this baby as Sarah Palin did, would have aborted it, I think driving around without a carseat is nothing. The baby at least was given a chance to live, you hypocrite.
PS - you liberals are sounding a little scared and desparate, if you ask me.

Ok, I'm a McCain/Palin fan, but child safety should not be taken lightly. I guess I can't agree on EVERYTHING she says. Oh well, her kid; her problem.

Re: Ms. Sugar Walls – Hey Suga Baby, check this (via usatoday.com), "New Gallup Poll: Convention lifts McCain over Obama (54%-44% among Likely Voters)"……….. Drink Up! It's there, go read it!

  6. 206

I am liberal and I would not have aborted that child. I take extreme offense to that blanket statement. Just because a person is pro choice does not automatically mean they'd run out and have an abortion if the child wasn't "perfect". Pro choice means letting a woman make her own decision about her family, just like all these republicans want us to do for Sarah Palin.

I think it's interesting that when Britney Spears did this with her child, she was called a stupid, unfit parent. But when Sarah Palin does it, we say, "It's none of our business what she does with her children. It wasn't a "real" road anyway".

I have never nor would I EVER ride in a car without my child strapped in. It doesn't matter if it's 2 mph or 55.

  7. 207

Re: kathymcc – Seriously? I am NOT attacking your thoughts, trust me. But think for a minute. So, you've never had to move your car over in the driveway, and had a toddler standing in the floorboard on the passenger side thinking it's the coolest ride ever? Not ever? I'm a mom, of three to be exact. We all have done things that were a little outside the lines, I'm sure. It just so happens that when you are Britney Spears, or Sara Palin, EVERYBODY gets to hear about it. And for the record, I personally feel there IS a difference between 2mph on private property, and 75 down the Pacific Coast Highway!! Just my opinion!

  8. 208

RED STATE WHITE TRASH IS RED STATE WHITE TRASH. PALIN IS A DISGUSTIN EXCUSE FOR A HUMAN BEING.

  9. 209

Yes,petty! God god people are so up in arms about things that are not really an issue. Firstly, it was a short distance and I imagine at low speed. And you know what, before baby seats were regulated and mantadated, many of us we held or just used a seatbelt with our bassinets or whatever. Chill out peeps!

Re: knowitall – And are you as WELL! Thanks for reenvigorating the campaign with your ill conceived comments (Media, CNN, US magazine, et all)! Suck it!! Obama can't recover at all! He's TOAST! He's TOAST! Why is Plain such a disgusting excuse for a human being????? Explain????? I think Obama, Ayers, Rev Wright and all, are more acceptance of that comment than her. But please do tell more! You and all your LIBERAL lovers are in such a quandry now, and it's such a shame that you resort to SIMPLE name calling at this point! Your MESSIAH is TOAST!

  11. 211

It is very obvious that she does not value the life of her disabled son, or she is choosing personal fulfillment over family. ie she drives with him in her arms, SHE IS RUNNING FOR VP, WHEN KNOWING FROM EXPERIENCE A CHILD WITH A DEVELOPMENTAL DISABILITY NEEDS PARENTS…..not nannies. yes having money helps but what does she think having STAFF come in and out of his life does for his benefit. Children with developmental disabilities need consistency. She is going to FAIL, CRUMBLE AND FALL!!!!!!!!! And where does that leave her son????? As the constant reminder that her is the one barrier that prevented goal! ………just a thought

  12. 212

Re: BeautyQueen – listen queen….there is a reason the infant mortality rate went down…….its called CAR SEATS!!!!!

  13. 213

When Palin gets put into office with McCain - because good always wins over evil Marxists like Obama - I hope she comes over here and kicks your liberal asses into another dimension!

But know what? She won't because conservatives are taught to forgive and not hate. You libs are so f-ed up that you wake up every morning thinking about who can you hate on today or else your life is incomplete. You guys suck.

I suspect the drive around the facility was not as it is portrayed.

  17. 217

This woman is total trash. What next? I can't believe anyone could compare her to Hillary or Obama. Freaking baracuda!!!!!!!!!!!

  18. 218

grasping at straws much? almost hilarious to watch liberals lose it over Mrs. Palin - a self made woman who has a lovely family and lives by what she preaches. Yeah touring a facility in a mini golf cart at 10 mph is comparable to Spears. Hmmm how about we discuss Obama's friendship with the freakish left - Ayers, Wright, ACORN etc. ? or how about his nonexistent record or inability to take on Chicago political corruption or his consistent shifts on opinion (Iran is a small country that doesn't pose a threat, he made a mistake with the when does life begin question, now he considered joining the military but there was no active conflict at the time? what a joke). He doesn't support gay marriage - where is the discussion on that? The man is an empty suit and America is waking up to that.

Re: Ms. Sugar Walls – Britney did it on an Los Angeles freeway and was high on drugs dumb-ass.

  24. 224

Re: Minx – You need to re-read the original post. She drove 90 minutes to the facility and then when given a tour on private property she held her baby. Also many companies allow parents to bring their infants to work. In most cases that I saw personally, It worked out well for both the parent and the company.

  25. 225

Re: leahbean – I have several friends who have children with special needs of varying degrees. All of them have outside assistance to help with the child. In many states they provide assistance in home or schools (California and Colorado) , to help these families and their children. Many of these mothers and fathers work and I when they are home spend quality time with their children. It's quality time not quantity that truly matters.

  26. 226

    WHO'S BRITNEY NOW, BITCH!!!!!!!!!!!

You're right, you can't compare them. They are three different beasts in every conceivable way. One will win and my money is on Palin. The media already has her pitted against Hillary in 2012. Obama is a cage without a bird and he's been written off for the most part.

  28. 228

i suppose he will pray not to do this again at the next call to prayer…

AMERICA - ARE YOU REALLY THIS DESPERATE???
    :l

  32. 232

Do you seriously think McBush didn't know all of this information about Palin before he chose her? That is why he chose her. It's not hard to figure out that the American public has a fickle and ferocious appetite for celebrity pop culture, and that is exactly what he is feeding you. It works as a diversion away from attention to the issues that McBush really doesn't want to discuss. The American public is blatantly gullible for entering into discussions of comparisons between Hilary Clinton and Sarah Palin; avoiding highlighting of a very important issue - which is that McCain/Palin intend to overturn roe v. wade, and you should be much more concerned about that.

    Re: Melissa is always right
    Post 202
If memory serves me correctly, Joe Biden stayed with his sons recovering in the hospital and considered postponing his seat but was persuaded not to. He was officialyy sworn in to his seat at his son's bedside and was a single father for five years before retiring. He also never took his kids to work. But I ask you this, as a working woman, no kids and no business to call my own; since Palin has a husband at home to help, why is she taking her child w/ her to work? I mean emergencies do come up, it happens but in the real world any parent working a job that has no daycare facility would be looked down upon for even thinking of bringing theri kid to work. Even worse if you're a woman you are put on the "mommy track" The fact is as a SINGLE PARENT for 5 years BIDEN still had responsabilites and bills to pay like everytone else and he never took his sons "to the job" so Personally, I think Biden is a bad comparison to use.

    234

    Re: Minx
Should read RETURNING to work NOT Retire ;) I keep doing this I just may quit!
And Rockymountain momma THANK YOU for pointing out MY error. I totally misinterpreted the post. I thought she held the baby for the entire 90 minute trip TO the facility AND around the facility. I have no qualms admitting when I'm wrong. I still think she should have left her kid home though when "on the clock" you know how we women are treated in the corporate world when we can't "balance our work and family load"…. mommytrack, sad but true. I've even seen women ATTACK other women saying that "your dragging the rest of us down bringing your kid to work, stay the eff home if you don't have a sitter". This and our gross injustice of not getting equal pay for equal work needs to change.

  35. 235

okay, handicapped or not, governor or not. who the eff takes their baby to a prison for a work day. was this take your baby to work day or something. so if she is V.P. can she get a babysitter or will she be dragging baby around with her through the white house. what a hot mess. i was thinking it would be okay for her to be V.P. with a baby cause her husband could be a stay at home dad. but why would she take her baby to work with her like that. would arnold take his baby to work. NO. His wife would handle that. Where is Palin's husband???

  36. 236

Re: Minx – #234 - Your points are well taken however, when you say he was persuaded not to postpone his seat, how do we know that Gov. Palin said thanks but no thanks but was persuaded otherwise. We don't, we can only assume. As a single parent I respect anyone who is able to raise their kids and manage a career (even Biden). The whole point of that post was to point out the liberal, hypocritically biased mainstream media and liberal blogosphere that one is applauded, the other condemned. We don't if Gov. Palin makes a habit of taking her son to work (but I'm sure we'll find out) but you can't say never ever when you don't have kids; especially considering her job is kinda a round the clock gig. I've had to pick my son up from school and have him sit in the lobby while I wrapped things up before taking him home to care for him. Sarah's gonna be damned if she does, damned if she doesn't. Bashed if she has a nanny, bashed if she's hands-on. Why don't liberals see this hypocrisy?

  37. 237

    She´s an idiot!

  38. 238

Re: Melissa is always right – I just wanted to say that I totally see your point. She is going to be attacked and unfortunately we just have to deal with it. But everyone is getting attacked. It's an election. Everything that they have done or plan to do will be attacked from the other side. Me, personally, I'm in the middle. I hate Keith Olberman just as much as Foxnews. I just wish more people would be open to listening to the opposing veiwpoint. Your last post was great but you probably won't get through to the people who won't listen. I like to listen to both. I'm leaning towards Obama but it's fun to debate with people. As long insults aren't traded back and forth anyway.
I think, at this point, you'll be hard pressed to find anyone in this election who is not a hypocrite. They all are. Palin included. It's not bad it's just the way politicians are. Both sides lie. I just hope that regardless of who wins, we have a President who gives a shit about us. In the meantime, thanks for your posts. They're enlightening even though I disagree : )

  39. 239

Just keep reporting her in an unfavorable way. You are only helping McCain - thanks!!!!!

  40. 240

Re: Alice_In_Wonderland – #239 Thank you! It is always good to see opposing viewpoints without the name calling, like countless others posting here do. I am glad that so many are interested in the election; as it should be! We should ALL care enough to let our voices be heard through the vote! Have a great day Alice.

  41. 241

Do you know why other countries want Obama? Because he's weak and everyone can see it.

  42. 242

It's a big difference from driving down the highway doing 90 mph to get away from photographers.

  43. 243

Re: Bluebonnet – I don't believe that's true. I think they see Obama as a peace loving man. The rest of the world is fed up with America and war. Bush lied to congress, to us, and to he world about Iraq. They have had enough and see that Obama could repair our damaged country. Will that happen? I don't know but I have more hope for him than McCain. It also is quite scary knowing that Ms. Palin will be a heartbeat away from being President. I wish John McCain had chosen someone else. Maybe then, people wouldn't be as scared or pissed off as they are right now. I guess we'll just have to wait and see:)

Obama slip of the tongue….or not?

"Let's not play games," he said. "What I was suggesting — you're absolutely right that John McCain has not talked about MY MUSLIM FAITH. And you're absolutely right that that has not come."
    -
Mr. Stephanopoulos interrupted with, "Christian faith."
    -
"My Christian faith," Mr. Obama said quickly. "Well, what I'm saying is that he hasn't suggested that I'm a Muslim. And I think that his campaign's upper echelons have not, either. What I think is fair to say is that, coming out of the Republican camp, there have been efforts to suggest that perhaps I'm not who I say I am when it comes to my faith — something which I find deeply offensive, and that has been going on for a pretty long time."

  48. 248

Regardless of whether I support her or not, this shows how people will jump on ANYTHING if they THINK it supports their side of an argument. This clip clearly does not provide all of the information. In fact, it says, "while the warden drove the short distance around the facility." For all we know it could have been 20 feet. I will withhold judgement until I know all of the circumstances. I believe that everyone deserves the right to vote; I just wish that you had to pass a test regarding your knowledge of the issues in order to do so.

  49. 249

I think that it is funny that their is someone in the running for the white house how Palin's family issues are being swept under the carpet real fast. Seriously, if the tables where turned and it was Obama's daughter that was preggers it would be federal case on all the internet/mags/tv and with Americans everywhere. Why is this situtation any different, oh, let me guess because she is a white woman! Oh, but months ago every one was ripping up Jamie Lyn Spears for the same damn thing. United States, make up your damn mind! It is not right to put this trash in the white house! People say that we are not ready for a black president. What makes you think only white males know what the hell they are doing when it comes to this country. I am also sick of John McCain talking him being a POW, who cares. I think that he has milked it for all it worth. Get a new story line, oh I forgot, you don't have one. Obama/Biden 2008!

From today's USA Today - McCain Takes 10 Point Lead Among Likely Voters
    -
In the new poll, taken Friday through Sunday, McCain leads Obama by 54%-44% among those seen as most likely to vote. The survey of 1,022 adults, including 959 registered voters, has a margin of error of +/— 3 points for both samples.
    Among the findings:
    -
    • Before the convention, Republicans by 47%-39% were less enthusiastic than usual about voting. Now, they are more enthusiastic by 60%-24%, a sweeping change that narrows a key Democratic advantage. Democrats report being more enthusiastic by 67%-19%.
    -
    • Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin, a national unknown before McCain chose her for the ticket 10 days ago, draws a strong reaction from voters on both sides. Now, 29% say she makes them more likely to vote for McCain, 21% less likely.
    -
Obama's choice of Delaware Sen. Joe Biden as running mate made 14% more likely to vote for the Democrat, 7% less likely.

  51. 251

Re: Minx – Are you kidding? "Unbiased news source BBC", I don't think so at all. You need to get out of your moms basement and watch other channels.

Fox News always has people from both sides on just about every topic they cover. They let people present their point of view from the right, left, or in between and then viewers can make up their mind. Why do the left feel threatened by Fox News? They always let someone from the left present their arguments too.

MSNBC Loudmouths Dropped from Anchor Chair

After all the sniping and slap-fighting, Keith Olbermann and Chris Matthews are out as politics anchors for election season. They'll be replaced by David Gregory.

The big move comes after Matthews and Olbermann have been accused of pushing a left-wing agenda too hard and have throttled each other on-air — like when Olbermann made a mouth-flapping gesture with his hand during a Matthews rant at the DNC. It's totally embarrassing the network, say multiple sources.

I have to ask that she was suppose to be on a tour of a prison. Was her mind on the tour or on her child. Did the child cry, was it hungry or wet it self. I am a mom and have a job, I would never take my kids to work as it would distract me and my co-workers. When I am at work, I work, when I am a mom, I am a mom.
I believe woman can work and be a parent - but please don't make the two one thing. I saw a picture of her at a desk, talking on the phone, holding a baby.
