Anne Hathaway‘s shady and conniving ex, 30 year-old Raffaello Follieri, is said to be near an agreement to plead guilty to his charges of money-laundering and fraud.
If you recall, Follieri was charged with inappropriately taking money from billionaire Ron Burkle (and others).
That’s the same scam in which Follieri said he’d make everyone tons of money thanks to his “Vatican ties” to redevelop old church properties.
Currently, he’s still in custody in NY, seeing as he couldn’t pay his $21 million bail.
A source close to the case says that with the proposed plea agreement, Follieri would only face four to five years in prison now.
Does that sound like enough time or too much????
However, there’s still a slight possibility that Follieri won’t take the plea deal and will decide to go to trial.
But, that could end up costing him a lot more and sending him to jail for a longer time if he doesn’t turn out well.
A court hearing could take place as soon as next Tuesday.
